We're not big traditionalists, but we've decided to go the paper route for our first anniversary. We have tickets to go see Jeff Dunham Spark of Insanity in Madison. I also decided to surprise DH with a poster-sized photo of a wedding pic, our favorite one. It's in B&W. The photographer charged $100 for it and it's mounted on foam board. So I was pleased.

I went to Michael's yesterday to have it framed, since they have 50% off their custom framing. Good lord, I'm afraid to say I spent $390 framing that sucker! I don't want to tell him how much it was because he's been begging for a PS3 since last summer and they run $300! That's all I thought about at the checkout. We'll have this for a lifetime, but I wasn't planning on spending more than $200 total on this thing. Oh well. I know he'll like it!

Yeah framing large pictures is expensive! Hope he likes it and doesn't ask about the cost ;) FYI; properly mounted photos on thick foam board can be hung on their own for a museum look without a frame. Though, for $100 I doubt that was how your print was done ;)

Have fun at the comedy show; Jeff Dunham is the ventriloquist guy right?

Oh and have a happy anniversary :)

How sweet. Brian is gonna love it. Especially if it is the Photo You both love.
Sometimes You have to sod the expense and go for it. Before You look round PS3's will be rock bottom price. But the Photo is priceless.

Which reminds Me. We still haven't paid for the Photos We had done a week after the Wedding. We paid a Deposit and forgot all about them.

Happy First Anniversary.

I tried to reply yesterday but my computer was acting up! I think tickets as a paper gift is AWESOME. Even cooler that they are Jeff Dunham tickets! I wanted to get FH tickets for Xmas but they were out of my budget.

The frame is really pricey! Wow! And that is with a 50% discount! I bet it will look beautiful though and it'll be there on your wall for you to enjoy forever! :) I think that is also a great gift idea.

Aww... thank you for making me feel better about the picture! I know he'll like it, especially if I don't tell him how much it was!

We're really excited to see Jeff Dunham. We think he is so funny! He's the comedian with all the puppets, we like the old guy Walter the best!

I've decided to use your idea for Matt for our anniversary - I found Beyonce tickets here in Sac for July something.... I think I'm going to take him to see her - unless something better comes up :) Thanks for the idea!!!! :innocent:

That's a great idea! I think I'm going to put 'post-it' notes all over his truck for his paper present.

Can we see the picture?
