I live in GA but am getting married in FL. Flying back and forth is going to be too expensive. Does anyone have any advice on planning a wedding in another state?

I am from IL and my wedding was in NV, everything I did was on the phone or the internet. It turned out better that what I imagined! :)

If you have family, a friend, a wedding planner or other liason local out there that can help would be the way to go. If you can find a venue first they may be able to suggest other local vendors.

You can search vendor listings online to start. Check OneWed.com Florida Vendors here - http://www.onewed.com/vendor/search/florida/jacksonville-fl/ There are more FL city listings on the bottom of this page ;)

My wedding is in Pennsylvania and I live in Virginia. Most things I am planning by phone or internet. Other than that I visited in February, will go back in July and September. I'll be taking a bus in July since it will only be me, they are cheaper than flying but take a lot longer..might be an option? or train if you have to go out there at all? We are driving in September. But almost everything we are doing is through the phone and internet and everyone is being very cooperative.

You might find our Florida Beach Wedding Guide (http://www.floridabeachweddingguide.com) useful.

We used Tropical Miami Beach Weddings.

They have a terrific wedding package for out-of-state couples and provide great service! They arranged to have our ceremony on the beach behind our hotel and helped us get our marriage license by mail.

They were professional, courteous, and delivered on everything promised!

We highly recommend them!!
