I moved the thread here; this would be where to discuss any health (weight loss too) related topic no pertaining to the wedding ;) We are still working on sifting through older threads that might need to be moved.

Protein is in practically everything. Traces of protein in the foods that you eat really add up through the day. I'm vegan and still get too much protein some days. The average American consumes 2 to 3 times too much protein each day. It's hard on the kidneys, intestines, and possibly leaches calcium from the bones. Eek!

High Protein foods -

tempeh
seitan
soy
lentils
beans, all varieties
quinoa
grains
peas
nuts/nut butters
soy milk/nut milk/hemp milk/dairy

These are just some examples of higher protein foods. Even a cup of cooked broccoli has about 4 to 5 grams of protein! Check out my food diary. I monitor my protein intake and generally get just about the right amount for my weight. Maybe you can get some protein ideas from there. I got about 46 grams of protein today, for example, and I aim for about 40 - 55.

Good luck with your diet!!
