Is anyone else, other than me, getting married during the day?
My wedding starts at 11:00am and runs until 3:00pm.

I'm having a day wedding too, from about 12:30pm to 3:30pm.

Your wedding is only 3 hours long as well as mine. We have an hour break at 12:00. (I do not know what my guest are going to do for an hour. The place is really big so I guess they can find something.)

I wonder if all day weddings are this short.

I am going to have a day wedding also but we havent set a time yet.

Am3na--You might think about having a cocktail hour and just serving drinks or something during that hour so your guests can mingle and give them something to do. The last thing that you want is your guests to get bored during that hour break. Just a suggestion. Hope everyone is having great success planning their wedding! Congrats to everyone!

Feather thanks for the suggestion! I will ask the place if they can arrange sometime like that for that hour. :D

My caterer suggested doing that during our pictures, Feather. She's going to serve drinks and hors d'oeuvres to the guests while the wedding party and I are taking pictures.

Since our wedding will take place on a historic site, she also suggested printing out a wedding program with the schedule of the wedding on the inside and the history of our location and a list of things to check out on the property on the back so that guests have something to do while they wait for pictures to end.

Sal0612,

That is a really interesting idea. My place is also historic. Most my guest will be staying there for the weekend, so that would be something great to provide them with.

The hour between our ceremony and reception will be our formal photo taken time as well. But I think that a lot of people would stick near by since everyone pretty much knows one another and has not see each other in a very long time.

My wedding is during the day as well, ceremony around 10:30, with reception going from 11:30-5. (seems to be the standard for day weddings in ct and ma.)

my wedding is at 5:30pm and my reception will be at 7pm so that we have time for pictures and have time for the guests to get to the hall and also we can make a trip around town. :) I really can't wait.. I only have 6 more weeks!!!!!!!!!

We had our wedding at 12 noon and the reception started at quarter after six that night. A lot of people complained about the big gap but not our photographer. She was very happy that we allowed so much time for pictures. It was nice because nothing was rushed and I know we got some absolutley beautiful photos!! She told me she wished more people allowed for more time for photographs. Although I whined about how early I had to get up, I wouldn't do it any other way if given the chance!!

I have seen many daytime weddings. The earliest one I can remember had the ceremony at 11am and then the reception started at 1pm .... there was about an hour gap for pictures and such. I think they had cocktails and finger foods for the guests and they also had a signature mat and a "growing up" slideshow to pass the time.

When I was a photographer, I too would have loved to have been given more time for pictures ... I used to always say, "Oh, I wish I had time to do this" All the awesome pictures you see in the magazines are hard to get with the time crunch on top of dealing with the inevitable late people

My wedding I guess would be considered daytime.
Start time 2:00pm
End time 8:00 pm
We are taking all posed pictures of the wedding party prior to the ceremony, so that there is no delay in the ceremony and reception/

Happy Planning!
