Since leaving the Hotel back in February. I've decided that now is the time to go back to work.

DH isn't too happy about Me going back. He thinks they are taking the micky out of Me due to the work i do compared to the pay i get.

The idea was to stay home. Sell stuff on eBay. Keep House and Garden. Finish off all those little projects "I'll start Tomorrow". And DH was to work and keep us both. This was all well and groovy in theory. But i was starting to go a bit stir-crazy at home.

I missed the Girls i worked with, that little "Extra" pocket money each week. And being able to talk to someone other than the Cat or online.
eBay is still doing good. But when it goes into PayPal and stays there. Only to be spent back on eBay. Having a wage packet every week pays the bills faster than "Dead Money"

So today i decided to go back to the Hotel for two days a week instead of My normal five. The Boss was jumping through hoops when i asked to go back. Plus staff are starting to leave for another Hotel i used to work in. They asked Me to go back but i declined. Sometimes it is better the devil You know. Going back keeps My hand in with reality. Keeps My C.O.S.H.H up to date. And having money with the Queens head on will pay the bills quicker than any amount collected in PayPal.

I managed to get rid of shed loads of stuff from the Attic. Got on top of the decorating and gardening. Managed to finish My second Dolls House and did loads of those "I'll do it tomorrow" jobs. So time home wasn't wasted.
Plus only doing two days i get to have the best of both worlds. :winktongue:

It's great that you're going back to work on your own terms and when and how you want it. Working two days a week will give you plenty of time to enjoy and do the things you like.

I think its great! Two days a week sounds like just enough to get you out of the house for awhile and the other days you can do stuff around the house.

I agree with everyone else; it sounds like a good thing. I know what you mean about going stir crazy at home... I didn't have a job for a few months when I first moved in with FH.

Yay for going back to work on your terms!! Two days sounds perfect. If we could afford it, I would work 2-3 days a week too!

Oh yes, me too!

It does sound like a perfect situation for you guys. I can't imagine you not being able to be social at work, Mitch. Seems like you would need that! Good luck and I hope it works out.

ahhhh, till i can work in labor and delivery with the alleged "big bucks" heehee

and i'm all for "pocket money".....empty pockets get lonely ;)

I really relate to the wanting human contact. I don't have classes anymore, so I work from home. I'm trying to figure out a way to get out and about every day to talk to people so I don't get lonely. I know now I wouldn't make it as a stay at home mom!

I'm thinking of making friends with the retired woman across the street and inviting her over for tea or something!

Hi Mitch,

I think everyone should be able to do what you did -- take just enough time off of work to really get things done that you wanted to do and get a "break away" and THEN... go back to work.

It's so nice that you had this and I totally agree with you. I couldn't just not work.
