So excited!!

We are remodeling our house in less than 2 weeks! I can't wait!

We are installing a new door as our old one is rotted, so we are going with fiberglass stained to look like oak, new stair way, putting in oak risers and taking the carpet up, ripping up the old carpet in the living room and putting down hardwood floor (goodbye allergies!), taking out the counter tops and putting in Staron (like Corian), and new tile floors in the kitchen...goodbye linoleum!

I will be going to Michigan with the girls to get them out of the house and hubby is staying home with the carpenters to get this all done. So, I will be coming back into a new house!

Whoo-hoo! I can't wait!

Oh I will, before and after shots. This weekend we are going to take out furniture and all that stuff..it will be so nice to come home and it all be done! :) (Poor Doug..lol)

I am so tired! We have so far torn up the front foyer linoleum, took out a post and last night stayed up till 11 and took out the front living room and main living room carpet. Our house is so weird looking right now. Tomorrow we are going to conquer the kitchen floor and we should be about done with what we need to do.

Sunday, I think I will head to my parents just to avoid Monday morning rush hour getting out of the Chicagoland area.

I am back from my "vacation" to Michigan, the house looks beautiful, but it's not done! I was so ticked. The contractor knew I was leaving for the week and the staining had to be done while I was gone cause the dogs were with me. Doug and I had it out with him. Yesterday we went to the place were we bought our countertops, and had a "discussion" with the lady as our backsplashes are coming apart from the wall and are NOT how we ordered them but she said they would fix it and get it how we want.....i'll believe that when its done.

All in all, the floors look GREAT. Once we get everything in place and the workers and all of there stuff is out of here, I will post pictures.

Oh, did I mention they were supposed to be done when I was gone, and when they said they had to come out this coming week to finish, I said it would have to be done after we get out of work they guy told me we would have to pay over time?! I said Bull****! He promised us it would all be done while I was gone (then NOBODY shows up on Thursday! No call No nothing) Uggh.


I'll be so glad when its over!

Update...FKELSKFJWEORFSNVDHGIOH!!!!

We are still living with the house torn apart! The drywall guy was supposed to come over on Thursday (he called on Tuesday to see what day would work for us)...and NEVER showed up. No call either.

Doug painted the bathroom (after starting to touch up the paint with the wrong color..OOOPS), I am slowly and I do mean slowly bringing stuff in the house and cleaning it up after it had been in the garage for 3 weeks.

Right now he is putting the base boards back up...and I am here in the internet....shhhhhhh! :)

I will get some pictures posted on here this week...have to clean up "areas" so you can see what has been done. :)

I can't wait to see pics... and that really stinks that the drywall guy flaked on you. That's just plain bad business :irked:
