To make a long story short, I think I may have jumped the gun. I knew from the start that I didnt want anything too busy, I'm a very simple kind of girl. So I came across one that I just loved at DB, nothing on it but a big colored sash to make it pop. After the insistance by my mother, I shopped around before I bought it. I came across the dress that I was looking for in my "lost dress" post. And I cant stop thinking about it. Now, I have already bought the one from DB because I got it for $250. My friends say I'm just freaking out because it is the first big purchase I have made towards the wedding. But I keep wondering if the other dress may be "the one" since I cant stop thinking about it? Any opinions, suggestions, or advice would be great. Thanks ladies!

It's hard to give an opinion on the DB dress from that picture, because I can't see the front of it, but from what I can tell they are both beautiful dresses. Do you have any pictures of you in either of them?
I think it just comes down to which one you really want, which one you want to be wearing when you walk down the aisle to your fiance. I think you should go with the one you're going to be happiest with.

I love the first dress, it's gorgeous. Personally, I like it better than the second one. But if you think the second dress is the one, at least find one and try it on.
I like the David's Bridal dress better but they are BOTH beautiful.

Both dresses are beautiful in their own ways. Pesonally, I like the Mori Lee dress quite a bit more -- but to really make an informed decision, trying them both on would be the way to go!
If you can't stop thinking about the Mori Lee dress, what harm would it do to go somewhere that carries it and try it on? Maybe, because it's a very different style than the DB, you'll discover that it really doesn't look so great, so you'll be happy you bought the DB.
Maybe you'll discover that the Mori Lee makes you look even better than the DB did, and you'll wind up selling your DB dress on Craigslist, kijiji, or Ebay because you were right all along. :)
You never know. Go try on the dresses and see which one you really like more!

I agree with Whitewater. Go try the other one on. Then you can either let it go, or find a way to sale the other one.
I do like the DB dress though

i agree..try the other one on....and i personally have NEVER really seen a DB dress i LOVE, but you'd be surprised just how many times i've browsed their site, just to look at the dress you bought.....

I definitely prefer the DB one, but it's hard to say without seeing them on you! And of course, it's totally up to you. But just from the pictures on the models, I like the silhouette and simplicity of the DB dress significantly more. Do you have any pics of you in them? Which one is more flattering on your body?
Good luck! =)

I was able to try both dresses on, the Mori Lee was just a different color than I was using. I am starting to feel better about my purchase, so maybe it was just a nerves thing. But I would still like to know what you ladies think, constructive criticism :)
So here is the DB dress, after it came in:

p.s. classic example why we never give my mom the camera:whyme: i have no idea what im doin
hERE's the front:this was on a different day) **also if you click on link for DB picture of dress there is an alternate view option on the right that will show the front, probably better than this. =)

in the catalogue pics i prefer the first one but when you showed you in them i actually thought the second flattered your figure more.
but to agree with others: choose the dress you feel like a princess!!

I say you made the right choice.
Honestly purchasing the dress can be quite nerve wracking. The day I bought mine, I kept reapplying lip gloss to my lips that my bridesmaid actually took the lipgloss from me....and then that night, FH was working and I was home by myself and man did I ever start doubting my choice....
But you wouldn't be the first to get a 2nd dress. I remember Tonya was in this same predictament months ago and couldnt let one dress go and she got the 2nd dress and was she ever glad she did.
Good luck!

The DB dress flatters you a lot more! It's very slimming on you!
As much as I like deviations from the popular strapless dress, halters sometimes make curvy figures look... even curvier. I tried one on once, and was making Monty Python jokes at the mirror about having "HUGE tracts of land." :lafhard:

Seeing them on you, I really like the DB dress. It looks so elegant and really flatters your figure. I do think the detailing on the back of the second dress is gorgeous, but I don't think it looks as good overall.

Thanks ladies! After reading some of your thoughts, I really got to thinking about how I felt IN each dress. Everytime I put the DB dress on I feel elegant. I realized that I wasnt as comfortable in the Mori Lee dress. It definetly showed a lil more cleavage than I would've liked and made me feel very broad across the top. I think I just loved the dress but not the dress on me, does that make sense?
