Okay, so this morning about twenty minutes after my fiance woke up, he doubled over in pain, complaining about his groin and lower abdomen area. He sat down for a few minutes and it faded. About thirty/forty five minutes later, it happened again. But it was stronger this time. He actually yelled out in pain and laid on the ground. I was going to take him to the hospital but he refused and it faded a little, ten minutes later it came again, once again he was bent over on the ground yelling. After it faded the third time, he said maybe if he went to the bathroom he'd be okay. He went, he said it didn't hurt (I guess that rules out constipation; can constipation even be that severe?). Now he's fine. I'm afraid to go to work (I'm already very late and it's only been thirty minutes since this all happened) and leave him alone. What if it happens again? I wanna call the doctor but he doesn't like going to the dr's.
What should I do?

Make him go. He could be passing a kidney stone. They hurt like heck.

That's what I'm thinking...but I don't like telling him stuff like that. He gets worried. And now he's acting all normal. He's watching wrestling while i'm typing this.
I don't want to leave him. What if it happens again? He couldn't drive like that.
I'm with kvettegirl - Make him go! Could be his appendix...???? Kidney stone, or something else. Rather be safe than sorry, right?

I made him call the doctor. He made an appointment for Monday afternoon. If it happens again though, I'm bringing him to the hospital. It sounds like a kidney stone or a hernia.
I'm glad he called at least... that's a step in the right direction!

When I shared a house with my uncle he had a kidney stone. They can break it up with Ultrasound or dissolve it with medicine. Either way your FH will have pain until it's taken care of. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon.

Yeah, I was going to say hernia - did it hurt more when he was in certain positions? Kidney stone is good guess too!
I hope he's ok!

That sounds exactly like what my FBIL experienced when he passed a kidney stone. It's excruciatingly painful, and then it disappears, then it's back...
He had to get it broken up at the hospital. I hope your FH recovers soon!

He's fine. He cancelled his appointment because he hadn't experienced any pain since. :whyme: He's sucha scardie cat. Hah. He says it was "constipation" and "that's that." He hates going to the doctors...So he was either suffering really bad constipation or he's hiding any other pain he feels. What can ya do, right? Guys are stubborn.

Matt's baseball coach in high school was in his house one day, and sneezed. He suddenly had a very sharp pain in his groin and thankfully he did go to the doctor because he ended up going to the hospital. He found out he had testicular cancer, and they had to take one of the two, if you know what I mean. You might still encourage him to go, just in case. It is always better to go and there be nothing wrong, than to not go and there be something wrong.

Yeah, I'd see if you could talk him into going in anyways, just to get a check up. Kidney stones, hernia, whatever it was...if it doubled him over, that's no joke. Maybe just remind him that he'll probably not want to feel that pain again, so he'd be better off going to the doctor. ;)

I just got off the phone with a friend who went to the ER tonight for groin/ab pain and it turns out his urinary tract was completely swollen due to cough medicine he took. It could be anything with your FH--hoping it was just constipation, but please get him to take any more pain seriously! Better safe than sorry, you know?

I'll talk to him. It's been two weeks (?) and he hasn't felt any pain since. I'll tell him to take it seriously and I'll suggest we both go get check ups. (If I get one, he won't feel nervous. That's him.) I need a check up anyway, haven't been to the doctor in a long time.
I thought I replied a few days ago to Docsgirl and Jackylnn....guess not. Strange.
