Yesterday I had an appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist because I have been having some trouble getting PG. I went for an initial consult on April 14th and I thought it was CD 28. They told me to call on CD 1 of my next cycle. I had spotting on Friday the 17th so figured that was my day 1. So I called and scheduled my appointment which was yesterday. They said they were going to draw blood and do an ultrasound on my ovaries to make sure everything checks out. Brian had his sperm tested back in December and in the initial appointment, the doctor looked at one number and said he had clumpy sperm, which makes it hard to get PG.
I had also been prescribed Clomid for Feb and Mar, which I took. But it made my cycles super short. So I didn't take it on the third cycle, even though I picked up the prescription. Now I'm thanking god I didn't take it because I was already pregnant!
So I've had spotting in March and in April, so I figured I wasn't PG. We went to Orlando 4/4-11 and the whole time we were there I felt nauseous. Then when we got back from FL I'd be sitting at work wavering between nausea and being voraciously hungry. There was no in between. I told my mom and she said to talk to the doctor about it. I even told Brian I didn't feel like myself.
So fast-forward to yesterday and they are doing the internal ultrasound and instead of looking at my ovaries, he looked in my uterus. Sure enough, there's a sour patch kid in there! He was surprised at how big it was and asked if I took a PG test. I took a digital EPT but the screen was blank so I figured I wasn't and threw it away. I probably did it wrong. Doing the math, the doctor said I was due on 11/27/09 and that I got pregnant on March 6th. It's so weird to think of all the things that happened over the past 8 weeks that I was pregnant for. I even went to happy hour last Thursday! Whoops! No more of those for me! ha ha.
I was tearing up because I was in shock looking at this little fetus on the screen, wishing Brian was there because he wasn't supposed to miss anything. So after the appointment, I ran to Kohl's and bought a picture frame that says "Daddy & Me" and put the ultrasound pic in. Then I ran to the grocery store and got a birthday cake.
When I walked in the door, I went into the kitchen and took out the cake. I put a candle in it and lit it. Then I walked into the living room where Brian and Sam (DS) were and asked who wanted birthday cake. They both said, "Why?" I said, "Because we're having a baby in November!" Brian was stunned and I showed him the ultrasound. He couldn't stop staring at it and then he hugged me and we all couldn't believe it! Sam immediately said, "We'll have to think of a boys and girls name!" We said he could help pick, but that ultimately it would be mine and Brian's decision.
This morning everyone had to say goodbye to the baby before I left! I'm so excited about this!!! Thank you everybody for your support on the TTC thread. This was definitely a long and worthwhile journey and I can't wait to share updates with everyone!

Now you're making me tear up!! And I'm at work, too! I don't think we'll tell anybody at work until after Mother's Day, when my 1st trimester is officially over. I figure I'll bring in pink and blue cupcakes or cookies when I tell everyone here.
I am meeting my girlfriends on Thursday for a mini baby-shower/dinner for my friend Sara who is due mid-May. I'm already planning on telling them then! Sara and I started trying at the exact same time and I think she felt bad that I wasn't PG yet. So now our babies will only be six months apart!

Thanks for clarifying! I can understand his enthusiasm. Sierra still bugs me about having a baby - she approaches the subject just about every time I see her. She's going to be in his shoes before too long :) :)
Yes, babysitting age. Why do you think I'm waiting so long to get preggy? J/k... but I did tell Sierra she'll be a good age for baby sitting LOL.

Yeah, it was a good thing I was laying down for it. Actually, they told me and I sat straight up! They were telling me to lay back, relax, and enjoy looking at the pictures! If it wasn't for the internal ultrasound, I probably would've rolled off the table...

I came down with the worst head cold Monday night. I googled to see if there's anything I can take for my sinuses and nope! So I'm suffering through with Vick's Vapor Rub and my vaporizer. I bought some saline nose spray but I've never took it before and am afraid. I think it'll be like getting water up my nose and I don't really enjoy that feeling! I stayed home from work yesterday and dragged myself in this morning. I'm only staying for the morning and then going back home to bed! My shower this morning was awesome and opened up my nose, but now it's stuffed again. I'm just glad I found out I was PG before I got sick! There's not a lot of medicine pregnant women can take, only Tylenol.
I've got it too Breckan. I've been sick since Sunday night :( I hope you feel better soon!!

I was thinking of you yesterday and today, too. So you're not feeling better yet?
Awww  I feel fine until that sneeze comes up to the tip of my nose and then disappears - then I'm stuffed up, my eyes water up, and my nose tickles for the rest of the day until I sneeze a few times - which takes a lot of effort :urgh: . It all started in my throat, then went to my sinuses after my throat cleared up, now it's going into my chest and I'm congested and sniffling. I'm kinda wheezing today :bbeek:. I hope yours goes away fast! Whenever I get sick it tends to drag on and on and on anyway, so I'm kinda used to it :irked:
So any idea when you get your first ultrasound pic? Or do you have it already?

I was soooo excited to find out Andrea (BarceloMayaPalaceBride) is PG, too! Yay us!! I hope there are many more BFPs to come out of the TTC thread!
We have our first OB appointment this afternoon at 1pm. DH took the afternoon off to come with me! We're super-excited about it but I'm not sure what to expect. Probably give a urine/blood test, but other than that?? I didn't shave my legs because I'm so tired in the mornings I can barely get washed in the shower. I have no extra energy for that other stuff! So I'm kind of hoping to keep my pants on today! LOL.
The doctor was recommended by my SIL. I wasn't too keen on continuing with the doctor who had prescribed the Clomid, just because I felt like she didn't really care or take any interest in me. So this new doc was doing rounds while my SIL was in the hospital after giving birth last summer and she really liked her. Plus, SIL's regular OB/GYN had moved out of the area so she needs a new one, too, possibly. She said if she ever needed another one she'd go to this one.
I can't wait for DH to hear our baby's heartbeat!

The appointment went well! We got to see our little peanut again. Although now he resembles a Wii character more than a Sour Patch Kid. Round head, round body, with two little circles for arms. Seriously! :)
The doctor was awesome, too! Very friendly and outgoing. I'm excited to have her as my OB. I need to have Brian scan the U/S pictures so I can post them. It's just too much work to go down to the basement to do all that computer stuff when I'm comfy using the laptop in the living room!

If your nose is still plugged up, you could always try a neti pot. It's a nasal rinse that is water and salt. Kind of weird at first, but they really work!

I've heard about the Neti pot but I'm so squemish I didn't want to try it. I finally started feeling human again on Monday and now I'm just down to a stuffy nose. I did get a list of acceptable medications for sinus congestion at yesterday's appointment. Sudafed is on the list, so next time I'll definitely be taking it!

Brecken-I've been SO stuffed up for the past few days. I'm convinced it's the hormones because I'm not actually "sick." It's the strangest thing. I was REALLY squeamish about the netti pot, AND it makes me gag, but also helps alot. I can't believe you're 10 weeks already WOW!!! Just dropping in to wish you ALL the best!!!

I was too squeamish to try the Neti pot! But if I ever get congested like I was, I'll definitely try it.
I was reading the nasal congestion is an early sign of pregnancy. It didn't say why, though. So that's a good thing! I did a list of acceptable medicines and Sudafed was on it. Thank goodness!
Also, I don't know if asthma runs in your family (it doesn't in mine), but one of my good friends is due May 22. Her hubby has severe allergies so she's worried. She said you need to eat 4+ apples a week during your pregnancy and NO TYLENOL your last trimester and that should hopefully reduce baby's asthma chances.

My pants are definitely tight. I went to Target to find some maternity pants so I can be comfortable, but they didn't have my size! One was too big, the other too small. So now I'm on the hunt for both dress pants and everyday pants.
In other news, I bought a new bra! I'm now a 38D ladies! Was a C cup two months ago. I hope they don't get too much bigger! Ha ha. DH isn't complaining!

I am planning on doing the big belly pic at 8 months. I've been trying to find a reasonable photographer. I really should do home compilation pics along the way. I just look and feel fat! I don't look very pregnant at the moment, more like I've been indulging in too many doughnuts! :winktongue:

Yep, I've heard of the Bella Band and googled instructions on how to make your own. The best one I found was to take a cotton tank top you already have and just cut it straight across under the arms. Then sew it shut and voila! Your own Bella Band! I still have to try it out.

I brought treats into work this morning to make the big announcement. I'm a buyer, so I had to have my email slanted a little bit. This is what I sent out:
There was a stork sighted in the Purchasing Department and he left treats for me to share with you!
He told me he would be back around November 27th with his final delivery. The product he is delivering has a long lead-time and I will of course be requesting tracking information when the date gets closer.
Enjoy!

My MIL bought me a test from Walgreen's, called Intelligender. You pee into a cup (the first urine of the morning) and take a syringe full and squeeze it into another cup that has some chemicals in it. Yes, I felt like I was in Chemistry class again. I did it yesterday morning at 6:30am and I was at my parents' house. My brother was up with my niece (11 months old) and was like..."Did you just walk through the living room with a cup of pee?" So he sat there and watched while I did this at the kitchen table. If your urine turns dark green it's a boy, and if it stays yellow to orange it's a girl. Well, my Intelligender test definitely was dark green! It was supposed to take ten minutes but it was turning dark after 3 minutes.
And the Chinese Birth Chart also says BOY!!!
We'll have to start seriously cracking on a boy's name. So far our short list is:
Brant
Brogan
Bevan
Brendan
Yes, Brian really wants a "B" name. Preferably even a "Br" name to match our names! But we've also talked about having "Brian" for the middle name, so to have two "Br" names is a little overkill!

How exciting!
I've seen Ellen do tests on her show before with pregnant guests. Last week Heidi Klum was on and they did some of them. Some of the questions were if you crave salty it's a boy, sweet its a girl. If someone asks for you to show them your hands do you show them palm up or down (up was a girl). There's also one with a pendalum swinging over your hands.
Heidi wouldn't say what she was having but all 3 of the tests said a girl. Then a few days later on the net I read that Seal revealed in an interview that it was a girl.
Awsome!!! I haven't ever heard of Intelligender!!!

Oh yeah. We've been through those names. Brody reminds him of stupid Brody Jenner (Lauren Conrad's friend). Brock is the name of this really overweight guy at the baseball stadium who shouts "Popcorn! Peanuts!" and I have a cousin who named their son Brayden, so that's out of the question. Out of all the "B" names, he really likes Brayden the best. So that's why it's hard to say no, but there's already a Brayden in the family! Although we never see this particular kid, it just seems like too close of relation. We have different last names, too.
That's what happened to me - I liked Kylie and Kaylee... and both names got used in my family LOL.
I'm excited for you!!!!!!!

You can test as early as 6 weeks. It's $30 at Walgreen's. I'm sure other stores carry them, too. It's just neat to see if it'll be accurate!
I just was lookin at baby B names and saw "Bandana" and "Banjo" :snide:

Brecken, I CAN'T believe you're 12 weeks already!!! How exciting!!!! I am TOTALLY with you on the salty thing. I usually LOVE sugar, but cannot stand it during pregnancy. My husband is like "yeah, that's DEFINETELY my kid." Sorry I haven't posted in your "Bundle Thread" lately, but I've been EXTREMELY struck with morning sickness (except I have day all night sickness, and actually ONLY feel good for a short time in the mornings....go fingure.....) Just wanted to see how your bundle is progressing! I really like Brady or Brody, I have a friend who named her twins that and she has a Brock.
I've never heard of Intelligender, either. It will be neat to see how accurate it is! Do you have any feeling about which it is? When I was pregnant with my son I just had a feeling he was a boy, even though everyone else said I was carrying like he was a girl.

Thank you for the name suggestions, everybody! We're really leaning towards Banjo, thanks to Justina. NOT!!
I've dropped some good chunks of change on maternity clothes recently. I'm at $250 so far but think I have a good base for work and some casual clothes. I'm also scouring the resale shops and got some cute tops and a pair of capris so far.
I also wanted to note that my belly is starting to make a good holding spot for my Heath Bar Blizzards...
I have a feeling it's a boy. Just call it mother's intuition... I'll be super-surprised if I find out it's a girl! But I suggested Aubrey for a girl's name and surprisingly DH liked it. So we'll see how that goes. We're still at a loss for boy's names. The current fave is Brant Porter. I've been told that's "too big of a name" for a little boy. One reason why I don't like sharing our name choices, I take the criticism a little hard. Must be the hormones!
Kfancii

Awww... I like the name Brant Porter. I don't think it is too big a name at all for a little boy! It isn't like you are naming him Fritz or Harold. Now those are old man names to me!

OMG that's hularious
I like Brant Porter! While it may be a big name - everyone is a baby at one time or another, so what's so different about your baby from any other Brant or Porter on earth? :bbeek:
So how far along are you by now anyway? Have you gained any weight or maintained??

I'm 12 weeks and 5 days. The days just seem to be dragging by... and I have to go for 40 weeks?!?
I haven't gotten on a scale since my first doctor visit. My next one is on May 26th, so I'll know more then. I'm too afraid to get on one at home since my belly is growing. I'm probably up 10#, at least! :bbeek:
Did I mention that my mother had the nerve to ask me how much weight I "planned" on gaining?? I said, however much it takes. She must've told me that a few weeks ago and I can't remember if I posted it on here or not. I'd like to stay under 50#, even under 40# would be awesome. But I'm not planning on a certain number. How annoying for her to even ask me that! Although, I will say she was rather catty when my SIL was pregnant, and always speculating about how much weight she gained... Hrmmm...

I love the name Brant Porter! It may be a big name for a little guy, although I don't think so either, he isn't going to be little forever! Better have a name that he is going to grow into than out of!
My sister only gained like 5 lbs during her pregnancy.... and I know someone else who lost weight. But I guess you have to have weight to lose in order for that to happen LOL!
Hahahaaa.. so how much weight do you "plan" on gaining? :D

I just wanted to elaborate on the name thing. There's another baby forum that I'm on where I was all excited to post my name choices. Then you can have people vote on them and all FOUR boy names got thumbs down, except for Brayden. But that name is sooo popular right now, which is another reason why I don't want to use it. Anyways, that just burst my bubble that nobody liked the other names I had posted. But then I decided that I shouldn't care what other people say or think, as long as DH and I like the names, right?!? And none of them were too out there or anything!

I like your name choices! I have a friend named Aubrey, and I like the name muchly. I also say to ignore people when they say negative things about the names you like. I know what you mean about wanting to stay away from the really popular names... though my favorite names quickly went to the top of the popularity lists (Ethan and Isabella). I think once you name your baby what you name him or her, it'll fit the way you want it to!

The good news about other people disliking your names is that they won't be naming their babies the ones you like! No one ever likes the names I like either - don't worry! It wouldn't stop me from choosing one I liked!

We had doctor appointment #2 today. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was a relief! I've been feeling a lot better (energy-wise) and yet I'm not really feeling any fetal movement. I'm kind of in-between and wouldn't know I was pregnant if not for the potbelly I've got going on... so we were really happy at our appointment today. Baby's heartrate is 153 bpm. Good and strong!
Then we had a discussion on diet soda and if it was okay to drink. She said it was in moderation (like everything else)! So yay! I was more happy to hear that than DH, since he despises any kind of diet soda. And since I do the shopping... we never have regular soda! He's been enjoying my break from diet.
I'm up 5# so far. Not too shabby! I was worried it'd be more like 10. Our next appointment is June 22nd.
Great to hear! Must have been awsome to hear your baby's heart beat :) I can't believe you're 3 months along already!!!!

I've recently begun looking for nursery themes and I really like the following two:
Jungle Tales (the room is already painted in this color!)
http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/cci/cci2517096-big.jpg
And my other favorite is because DH and I met at a firetruck manufacturer. I figured if I needed to girl it up (don't think I will have to) I could add red gingham curtains with red bows, really play up the red. I just really like this because it has some of mommy and daddy's history together!

Those are both adorable. DH and I want to do a theme that is appropriate for both my son and the baby. We've been looking at Pop Monkey, which reminds me a lot of the Jungle Tales, I really like little monkeys right now!

Now onto the latest news: Strange pregnancy dreams! Good lord they are so vivid! Two nights ago I dreamt that I had a daughter named Portafina who had a little friend named Bradley. They were trapped in an underground shelter with a cat named Lucifer. I saved Portafina and the cat and then when I realized what the cat's name was, I tried shoving it back underground and saving Bradley instead.
So I dropped those names on DH the following morning and got the big thumbs down. So no little Portafina, Bradley or Lucifer for us! LOL.
Last night I went to bed at 6pm (had a bad headache) and didn't get up until 6 this morning! What a relaxing evening!!

I went rummaging this past Saturday afternoon and found some awesome deals! I found a Boppy Pillow for $3!!! Slipcovers are sold at Target for $8 if I want/need to change it. It's currently blue with blue and aqua circles. Retail on the pillow is $25. Baby can rest inside, or it provides support if you are bottle or breastfeeding.

I also found a vibrating seat that plays music and has lights for $7! This is the exact one I bought. Retail is $40! Whoo-hoo!
http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:zJomLa0RLUFr5M:http://www.kidsmoda.com/image/Furniturenew/230190478.jpg
I also found a Carter's snowsuit for $5! It looks brand new and is super-soft and fuzzy. I don't think it was ever worn. Kind of like these, only light blue. And it has the buckle notch taken out so you can put the carseat buckle through it. Size 0-6 months, so it'll be perfect for my Thanksgiving baby!

And of course I brought home about 3 bags worth of clothes, too. I really need to stop buying clothes now until AFTER we find out the sex! I'm still on the lookout for a Diaper Genie and a Pack and Play. I'm having so much fun finding these bargains!!

I had a bit of a scare this afternoon after seeing drops of blood in the toilet and on my toilet tissue. It was bright red. I didn't have any cramping or pain, but called the doctor's office right away. They asked if I had a bladder infection (no), vaginal discharge that wasn't normal (uh, I've been pretty mucus-y since the beginning, so no change there) and asked if we've had intercourse lately (no!). Since there was no pain and no more blood I'm just going to keep an eye on it. The nurse said that the vaginal lining can still shed if it's not in the uterus... I'll have to look that up. I did spot for two cycles after becoming PG, so who knows?! I never, ever spotted or anything with my first one 10 years ago.

Andrea, can't believe you're at 11 weeks!!! This is just too cool for us!
I had some more mysterious spotting on Friday and went to the doctor. Got to hear the heartbeat and everything looked good. Doctor suspects it's a low placenta and to not have intercourse, so as things aren't bumping against my cervix! Ha ha. I don't feel like "dancing" anyways, so no biggie for me. But you'd think the moon fell when I broke the news to DH. "For how long?" was his only question. It was an on-call doc and I have my regular appointment on the 22nd, so I'll ask. It's not like we dance all the time anyways, last time was on our anniversary on 5/31!
But things are looking good and I'm 16-1/2 weeks along!

Thank you! That reminds me, I got a message from the doctor's office to call them. I had the Quad test done last week and they probably have the results. Quad test is for Down's and birth defects. Although the rate of false positives is high for Down's, so I'll probably take the results with a grain of salt. They can see most problems on the 20 week U/S so it would seem the quad test is probably not really required. But our insurance covered it. I'll have to send an update when I find out. I just tried calling the office, but for some reason I have to speak to the actual nurse who called, who isn't in until tomorrow. WTF? So now I have to wait another 24 hours.

Well... the verdict is in! It's officially a BOY!!! It wasn't this big, magical moment, either, because I didn't drink enough water (or didn't drink it early enough) because my bladder looked empty on the screen. So I basically had to reschedule the U/S for next Wednesday because the baby wasn't in the right position to take all of the measurements. I guess a full bladder pushes the head upwards so they can get a better look. But the technician DID see the little boy parts, so that was fun. It just wasn't what we were expecting. I asked DH if he was going to come along again next week and he said of course! So I need to make sure to drink TWICE the amount of water they say. They recommended 24 oz this time and that's what I did... oh well. I'll get to see my peanut again next week!!

We've decided on our bedding last night and it's up for auction on eBay. We both liked the jungle animals on the previous one I posted, but the colors were too drab. We got the bedding! I can't wait to get it!!
The U/S went a LOT better yesterday! My bladder was super-full, almost to the point of explosion... :) Plus, my bladder control has never been the greatest, so I had to be super-careful when I sneezed yesterday afternoon. And hoped that nobody made me laugh too hard! Yay, I had no accidents! LOL!!
We got to see his little boy parts! They got him in a position where they were looking at his butt and legs and you could totally see his privates, clear as day! They took all sorts of measurements, some of body parts I couldn't really tell what they were. At the end of it all, they estimated he weighs 12 oz! So I have no idea why my belly is soooo huge and he's not even a pound yet.:irked: His heartrate was 128 bpm, which I thought was slow but the tech said it's normal, especially if he isn't moving around much. I'll have to scan in the pics, although they are pretty grainy.

Yep, it's a JoJo Designs! There are so many darn cute themes, it makes it hard to decide! It will be here on Tuesday.
Other news: Doctor called last night and said my placenta is 1-2cm. too low, but that it's behind my cervix. So that means I probably have placenta previa and they will be doing another U/S in my third trimester to see if it moves up. At least if it's in the back, it's safer to have a C-section. More dangerous if it's in the front. I figure at 40 weeks I won't care how they get this baby out, C-section or natural. So I'm not too disappointed with the thought of having a C-section at this point. I'm just happy to get ANOTHER ultrasound!!
Well, good news about the ultrasound happening again!
I am quite sure I"m going to order from JoJo Designs as well - I LOVE LOVE LOVE their camo/stars! But OH it's so hard to choose!

I technically have a "low-lying placenta" and not placenta previa. So there's a good chance the placenta will move up before I give birth. I got the okay on Monday to BD away! :)

I haven't had any updates lately because things have been pretty uneventful... until today...
I lost my job! :( Due to business conditions and not because of my performance. Doesn't really matter, because who is going to hire someone who is 6 months pregnant?!? I'm pretty upset but I'm sure everything will be fine. I just wish we didn't buy this house because we're already freaking out about making payments... just added stress I do NOT need! I'll just take things one day at a time and hopefully will be working again real soon!

That stinks. Good luck finding something else!! Buying a house and loosing your job is stressful and when you had a baby to the mix it has to be even more stressful.
DH lost his job 1 week before we closed on our house. It was pretty scary. He sort of was trying to get his current job but it wasn't a definite at the time, it was kinda like well maybe we will hire you IF a spot opens.

Thank you for the well-wishes, everyone! I'm doing much better, things have calmed down for me since last week. I had a doctor appointment yesterday and didn't gain any weight! Yay! My doctor said she was happy about it, because she was "concerned" about the weight I've already gained (20#). So there's plenty of weight to go around without gaining anymore... whoever said pregnant women can eat whatever they want was lying! I'm really trying to eat healthy and make good food choices and it seems to be working!!
Glad to see you back on OW!

I had a regular doctor appointment this afternoon. It was scheduled for 2:30pm and when I checked in the doctor was already running 30 minutes late. Great. So I settle in with a magazine and at 3:10 I checked to see how much longer it would be. The receptionist said I was next, but it would be another 5-10 minutes. I was soooo irritated! DS was done with school at 3:05 and I had to pick him up, get him fed, and get him to football practice. So when I finally get in the room, the nurse takes my blood pressure and comments it's a little high. I told her it was because of the wait. At least the doctor came in soon after, so I didn't have to fall asleep on the exam table, as I had done two appointments ago.
The appointment was uneventful, except for the receptionist asking if I wanted the flu vaccine. I said no and she kind of looked at me funny. She still put the paperwork in my folder and then the nurse asked if I was getting a flu vaccine. Again, I said no. So she pulls out the paperwork and puts it under my folder and then I asked my doctor about it. I've had that shot at least 3 times, and everytime I get it I end up sick (like two weeks after receiving it). Of course, that has NOTHING to do with the shot, yeah right. So then I asked about the swine flu vaccine and if she recommended it. I'm leery on getting it just because DH and I don't think it's been out long enough to have proper testing done on the fetus and effects, etc. So she tells me the CDC, the AAP, and a whole bunch of other acronyms ALL recommend pregnant women get the swine flu vaccine. And these are smart people who have done tons of research on it (making me feel stupid for even asking). But DH and I (who are in no way conspiracy theorists) just feel like it's big government scaring us into getting it without having it fully tested first. So she proceeds to write in my chart that I was advised of the "dire consequences" of what will happen if I don't get that swine flu shot and that I wasn't following her recommendation. But that she "won't hate me" if I don't get it. WTF? I was bawling in my car after I left because she made me feel so stupid about it. Like, what did I know and who the hell was I to be questioning the CDC?? Ugh.
Good news! I'm starting my two-week appointments now! The end is getting near!

don't feel stupid breckan! i feel the same exact way! why get it if it's barely been tested... who's to say 10 yrs from now ppl who got the vaccine won't get idk cancer or somethin... and what about the baby, whos to say it won't affect him in some way!
meh i'm not a conspiracy theorist either but i'm w/u on that one! ;)

Wow. I'm sure I'll be gftting the flu talk at my next appointment. I feel the same way you do. They haven't done enough testing to know the effects on babies. Short or long term. I have read that a regular flu shot can help some against swine flu. But if it makes you sick, I understand not wanting to do that either.
Wow Breckan! I wouldn't get the vaccine either (whether I was pregnant or not). I don't feel like it's been out long enough to be tried and true. Good for you for sticking to your guns, and scr*w her for making you cry :(

You can tell her if she gives you any grief on your next visit.
"If you weren't owned by the drug companies and their kickbacks for pushing drugs on people, then maybe you would care more for your patients than the money. Doctors are legalized drug pushers with only the bottom line and their best interests in mind. Insurance companies and Hospital's and Doctors are only in it for the profit. Healing and the patients are forgotten in the rush for the Almighty dollar."
I'm not getting one either. I am not a Guinea pig.

Breckan I am right there with you. My MIL is a nurse and she was telling me I should get the Swine Flu vaccine, I told her I am not to keen on the idea as there is no way its been fully tested on pregnant women, she got upset with me and said well your the one who is risking your babies life then.

Breckan, I never get the flu shot either... I don't see why I would get it just because I'm pregnant. Especially the Swine Flu one... that is just way too new!!!
Oh, I am just waiting to get heck from everybody...doctors, bosses, friends, fam...for not wanting to get the swine flu vaccine. OMG! I emailed our wedding photographer a few months back about having a maternity session done. We had a date all set up, and about TWO DAYS before I was laid off I sent an email to her to reschedule due to a conflict. Anyways, I'm sure she wrote back to my work email and I never got it. And I didn't want to follow up because being laid off means professional pictures aren't in our budget anymore. But last night I decided to email her (after DH's prodding about possibly getting a deal on them) and explained that I was laid off and how the pics were so important to me because it's a once in a lifetime experience! And I asked if she had any open dates and that I'd work on convincing DH that we NEEDED these pics! She wrote back this morning and is giving me this awesome deal. She's combining maternity/newborn pics and only charging me $150 instead of the $250 it normally would be. AND she's giving me sixty 4x6" prints! I am so freaking excited about it because it will be THIS SUNDAY!!! TWO DAYS AWAY!!!
What do I wear?!??! I'm so happy DH convinced me to follow up with her and she's sooooo sweet to give me a deal!

The session was lots of fun! The photographer said she'd give me 20 maternity pics and 40 newborn pics. She pretty much said that there's only so many belly pics that show what you look like and she'd rather I had more newborn pics. I was more than okay with that. She's going to send the proofs to me in the mail. I'm hoping to have them in the next four weeks, but I didn't ask her how long it would take. I ended up wearing a black 3/4 length sleeved shirt, and had a black tank top underneath that I also wore. Then we pulled up the tank top to do the belly pics. Then we went outside and did some shots of me sitting in a chair and ones of DH and I. I had on a white cotton nightie for the outdoor shots. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they turned out! I'll definitely post some of the pics for you all to see when I get them.
