Hi-
im looking for favor ideas for my noveber 7th wedding. we are doing a fall/country theme. and im trying to come up with favor ideas - we have thought about mint tins, maybe flower seeds, but we are can't decide. any ideas would be great. we had a friend tell us we should use toy tractors as favors because our wedding includes tractors - our cake topper is a john deere tractor. but i dont know how you would use that as a favor.
thank you for all your help

A John Deere tractor as a topper... that's a cute idea! I like it!
As far as favors, we are doing the flower seed thing and then a candy buffet with candies in our colors. That could be a cute idea for a fall/country theme.

We were thinking of flower seeds - how are you packing yours? did you buy in bulk or ... ? If you dont mind me asking what is a candy buffet? i have never heard of that.
thank you

We got our flowers at cheapseeds.com
We ended up getting like 6000 or so seeds for about 11 bucks.
The candy buffet is something like this: http://favoride-sitepics.favorideas.com/candy-buffet.jpg

We are doing tulip bulbs with the quote, "May these bulbs grow in your garden like the love in our hearts for years to come".
They will look similar to this:

I like the idea of the bulbs. We were thinking of tree seedlings or plant cuttings from our own garden, rooted in little random glass vases. I already have a collection of small colored glass bottles, I just have to pick which plants to take cuttings from to use.

Hi..The seeds and bulbs sound really nice. We are actually buying some of our favorite spices from a spice store (in bulk) and incorporating them with our meal at the reception. We are meeting with the Chef so he can make recommendations. We are packaging them ourselves (much, much less expensive to do it ourselves) in small ziplocks and wrapping in the tulle netting. The store owner suggested using herb types as you would get more for your money as the herbs weigh less than the spice. It is just another way to go...and you could pick something with a Fall theme. This is just one of the small favors for the guests. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I love the bulb idea, it seems very appropriate for a fall wedding. :)

For a fall wedding, I love the idea of caramel/candy apples as favors! Depending on the size of your wedding, this could be pretty hard to accomplish, but I think they are so cute when they are individually wrapped and placed at each place setting.
Just my 2 cents!

I really love the carmel apple idea. Yum!
My brother and his fiance are giving little jars of homemade maple syrup. My family gathered and prepared it all, so it only cost them for the little jars. Although the syrup season is pretty much done now, so if his wedding is this November it won't work. But maybe something along those lines? You can't go wrong with edible favours. What about homemade jams or fudge or something like that?

My son's wedding we did champagne glass for candles. Just about any glass can be used for candles. I once did John Deere coffee mugs (Walmart) as candles for some people. You can get instructions on the net & buy all the wax & wicks & do it yourself. I make candles for myself & family. If you need help email me & I'll help you with what you need to buy. It can be very inexpensive if you do it yourself.
I luv the carmel apple idea!
You could also do little pumpkins at each place setting ~ tied with a cute note/poem for each person???
We bought platinum/silver boxes at Wal-Mart (they sell clear and white also), I folded them (very very easy) and stuffed them with Hershey's kisses & Hershey's hugs (suprisingly inexpensive) and tied them with ribbon and a card that says "Hugs n' Kisses from the new Mr. and Mrs." ~ you could always get the white or clear boxes and tie them with oranges & reds ~ fall-colored ribbons and make your tag in your wedding/fall colors.
I just made a bunch of them last night so here's a pic:
