I have read that the latest wedding colors are bright sherbet type colors, but I don't know any brides actually using melon or lime. What are your colors and is there a reason you picked them? Just wondering where they get this stuff.

I know that the hot colors for people looking for "grad dresses" or "prom dresses" happen to be lime green or this sherbert orange, you talk of. As far as colors for my wedding. I have picked red, the good ol' stand by. It was originally purple, blue and a butter yellow....but I had to change that when I picked out my wedding dress and the dress itself has red in it.

While wedding dress shopping I noticed a lot of the very hot colors but they mostly seemed to be on prom dresses. However, if you look in the bridal magazines there are a lot of what I would call tropical colors on bridesmaids dresses. I think they would look great for an outdoor summer wedding. They don't really hurt your eyes like some of the prom gowns we have seen in dress shops. I think as long as you offset the brighter color with a softer or more neutral color it will work out.
My colors are white and soft pink. I am having a spring wedding that I am flooding with pink and white spring flowers - sweet peas, peonies, roses, hydrangea, ranuculus, dogwood, and my two personal favorites, magnolias and lily of the valley. It is going to look like a garden in my reception hall and church.

I am doing pink and white too. I have seen the soft sherbert colours for bridesmaid dresses. I live in Canada and they are everywhere. Some of the shades are beautiful, while others are a little too bright. I would be careful with the oranges and greens because not too many skin colours can pull it off. I for one, have an olive complexion, and i tan really easily, put me in those colours and i either look like an orange, or it brings out the undertones of green in my skin.
luck,

My first wedding I had dark purple and hunter green. I love these colors and they looked great together. I am waiting to find my wedding gown this itme to choose the colors scheme. I want a dress with color in it and I want the theme of colors to flow with the dress. ( maybe ) I was also thinking of having a black and whilte wedding, no matter what color I have in my dress. After all I am the bride and I can do what i want right lol. And I am the star of the show right. Me anc Nicholas is all that really matters. And my girls are up for anything.

I am the MOH in my best friend's wedding this July, and the colors she is using are burnt orange, copper and gold.
They look beautiful together, although I would never choose such bright colors.

I am the exact same way. I was going to do lavendar as my color- and have planned on that color for a long time, even before i was engaged. I went dress shopping and fell in love with the new red and white dress at davids bridal. So now I am doing red and white slowers and accessories...

I've picked yellow and pink for my wedding. My favorite flower is a rose with yellow petals with pink tips. It even works out more perfectly because my dress has just a tiny bit of pink in it. My bridesmaids will be wearing yellow and my junior bridesmaids will be wearing pink. They'll be carrying tulips of the opposite color of their dress and I'll be carrying my favorite flower. :) The flower girl will be carrying daisies and I'm not sure about her dress yet. We're going to check department stores next easter (she's a wee little one, so finding a dress in a bridal shop would be difficult).

I was also thinking of having a black and whilte wedding, no matter what color I have in my dress.
My sister-in-law did a black and white wedding and it turned out really beautiful. The thing I noticed is that it makes the wedding much more elegant.

Our wedding didn't have a specific color, just a color scheme of fall. Basically the color of fall leaves...red, gold, browns, orange, green...etc. I personally think it turned out great, I always thought I wanted a summer wedding...once I started planning though, fall was perfect for us.

I am actually using lime, raspberry and orange for my summer wedding in August. I think it will be fun yet elegant all at the same time. It's perfect for my summer outdoor wedding.

Well I was going to do pink and white. But, I got my bridesmaids' dresses picked out and they looked best in black. So, I am doing black and platinum now and using hints of pink in the flowers and such. I think it will give me a more formal feel which is what I wanted anyway. With everything being pink it was starting to look a little too little girly for my tastes.

I'm getting married in September.. and my colors are going to be Lilac and white. I love the way the two colors look together.. my bridesmaids are all wearing a lilac strapless dress that I found at david's bridal.. and I'm still trying to find a dress for my flower girl she's only 3 yrs old and I don't know if I want her wearing lilac like the bridesmaids or if I want her to wear a white dress similar to mine. can any one give me some advice here?

I posted a while back that I was unsure about my colors.
Well I have it figured out. All six girls are going to be in different color dresses but the same style. The colors are kinda reflectign the rainbow but in more soft tones.
the colors are:
the maid of honor is in a soft purple ( kinda of a lilac color )
the other girls are wearing a soft yellow, a soft green ( alomst a baby green is how i might decribe it), a soft pale light blue, the pink is a bit darker then the others more of a fusha but fits in nice with the others, and the orange is more of a copper color but looks orange mixed with the other colors
I bought a piece of fabric of each color and the dress partern for the girls. They have 10 months to do with what they want. They can either buy a dress or have one made. They have the style and color and I dont mind if they are slighty different. After all I have one girl in Austraila one in Ohio one in Maine and the other 3 here in New Hampshire so needless to say the dresses may differ slightly.
And for the guys i thought just the usually black and white but have their boutiners ( spelling ? ) match the color of the girls dress that they will be walkign with.
I can't wait to see this all come together. And i can do what i want on decorations with all these colors in hand. It is going to be so much fun pulling this together.
Oh and for the flowers, mine will be a colorfull bouqet and the girls will all have white long stem roses with a mixture of colors in ribbons tieing them all together.
The flower girls i am letting there moms pick out their dresses. And my daughter is the Jr. Bride so either white or something similar to mine.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I went to a wedding a few years ago and when I heard that the girls dresses were different colors I instantly thought "OMG, you are KIDDING", I thought for sure it would look horrible...it's really hard to picture. HOWEVER, when I saw them, they were beautiful. There were 5 girls, all in pastel colors, yellow, pink, blue, green, purple...everything tied in together so well.
Great idea!! It will look wonderful!

Thank you for your reply to my post of having different colors. I have never seen a wedding that did this but I am hoping it all comes together.
The main thing is that we are going to have fun. And I can't wait to see the pictures after it is all said and done.

The colors I chose for my wedding are apple red and buttercup yellow (David's Bridal colors). When my fiance and I decided to have our wedding in December red definitely had to be one of the colors, then we just had to figure out if we were going to accentuate it with gold or silver. Never did I imagine yellow, but when I was looking for dresses at David's I ran an apple-colored dress across a buttercup yellow skirt in the mix and match separates, completely by accident, and fell in love with the color combination.
I get crazy looks when I tell people that my colors are red and yellow, but I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
