Did anyone choose NOT to get any type of bustle on her dress?

I'm debating whether it's even worth it. I know the point is to keep you from tripping over it, but since there won't be any dancing or much walking around after the ceremony, is it just an expense that's not essential?

I stressed over my bustle, even cried over it and on the day it never got bustled. haha I kept saying that I needed bustled, but couldn't find the time to go do it. It wasn't a big deal for me, but my train got really dirty. I only had one person step on it that was DH and we were posing for a picture and push into a tight space.

Right now I can't remember what your dress looks like. But if you have a train, just be prepared that one of your hands will always be full of train, if you don't bustle.

I was so grateful for the bustle, Sandy, I can't even tell you. Halfway through the reception somebody stepped on my dress and it ended up messing up the bustle and the rest of the night I was struggling to keep the train up and out of the way - not just with dancing though, even just standing up and sitting down was kind of difficult!

That's just my two cents though! :) If you think it would cause you an annoyance, then do whatever you feel comfortable with!!

I definitely recommend having it bustled! In fact, I liked my dress with the bustle so much that I wore it bustled the entire time. I'm sooo glad I did. Otherwise, it would've been a HUGE pain to deal with during pictures and mingling from table to table.

I say get a bustle, even if it is not a fancy one. I think for most it is better than not having one.

I have seen a couple of weddings where the bride didn't get a bustle and ended up putting that little loop on the inside of the train on her wrist ... this pulls up the skirt and turns the train inside out ... not a nice look for pictures ;)

My mom and I have gone back and forth about this, too. I want a bustle, because I know that we're going out to dinner and to FH's band's show in our wedding clothes. She doesn't want a bustle because she doesn't want to put the bustle in (she owns a seamstress business). If I wasn't sure, I would go ahead and have the bustle added, you don't have to use it but you may end up wishing you had done it if you don't. I went to a wedding last year where the bride didn't get a bustle. She ended up hooking that strap Brandi was talking about on one of the buttons at the top of her dress and it looked horrible and kept pulling the back of her strapless dress down all night.

I had trouble just walking around the dress shop with my train down so I defiantly went with a bustle. I have heard this little wrist loops usually break before the night is over. You can always get a bustle and end up never putting it up if you change your mind.
