Ok maybe you are not flying, but I thought the title was cute ;)
So are you leaving for the honeymoon right after the day?

Yep! The next day we are leaving. Even when I was younger I always thought that the couple was suppose to leave that night or the next day for their honeymoon. There is no way I could wait around for a few days or weeks to go!

We're leaving the next day. After the wedding we'll spend the night in a hotel near O'Hare airport, then take the shuttle from the hotel to the airport the next day and fly out.

We had originally intended to leave that day, and planned an earlier ceremony just because of that. Things have now been shifted a bit because his family is hosting a BBQ on Sunday and we have to at least make an appearance there, so we'll be leaving after lunch the day after.

I voted "not right away". Since we are getting married in late-August, we really didn't want to go somewhere else warm, when Wisconsin is plenty warm and humid at that time of year. We will probably plan January/February of 2010.
We are, however, planning on taking a few days off of work and leave the the Monday after the wedding and take a little road trip. There are some places in the Midwest that we've always wanted to visit, so we are going to use that time to do it.

We left on the Monday after the Wedding.
Because all of our Guests were staying in the Hotel with us. We spent a bit more time with them on the Sunday.
We came back a day early on the Thursday because i wasn't well. :(

We are getting married on April 25th and leaving for the honeymoon on May 4th. We wanted to be home for FH's and FMIL's birthday, plus it worked out because my vacation days don't kick in until the 6th (and I have Mondays & Tuesdays off). I'm dreading going back to work for a week, but at the same time that gives me more time for honeymoon clothes shopping! ;)

We were married on Saturday and left that next Wednesday. I think it was because that airline on had flights a couple days a week.

We're probably going to wait until after DH gets back from his deployment. Otherwise we'd just have wayyy too much going on at one time trying to get everything settled before he goes overseas. Although, I'm still secretly hoping he'll decide he wants the "us" time to go before. Ahhhh....a girl can dream, right?! LOL

Our wedding is on a Saturday and we are leaving that Monday. My grandmother is throwing us a big brunch the next day and we did not want to be worried about catching our plane during it.

We were spoiled, in that we had a DW, which was a great little wedding-moon in and of itself, but we are also going to do a honeymoon this summer. I said we were spoiled! :)

We might drive up to the Adirondacks and spend a couple days in a cabin, but we want to go on a bigger trip later.

I voted other because currently the honeymoon is up in the air. While we both want one and want to go away, one of us is more realistic then the other about our budget...lol...
FH keeps insisting that there will be a honeymoon I on the other hand have to keep reminding him that we are paying for the wedding and well the funds just aren't there. Either way we are both off the week following the wedding.

We drove to Canada the day after. I was lucky enough to be able to take the rest of that week off after the wedding.

Ours is a wedding-moon/Birthday Celebration/Mother's day weekend/Family reunion.
We're going to be tired when we get back!

I voted 'other' because while we've planned a lovely 'honeymoon night' on our wedding night, we aren't actually having our real honeymoon until about 10 weeks later!
This is for many reasons.
1) One of my dear friends is flying in for the wedding early, and not leaving until the weekend afterwards, and we wanted to spend time with her (and because we're getting married mid-week, the traditional after-brunch and so on will have to happen on the weekend!).
2) The science-fiction/fantasy convention that I've been going to since 1992, and that Fiance has been attending since even before that, is happening literally a week later, at the same hotel. :) We don't want to miss it! Since we're going to be taking off work and so on, it will be kind of like a mini-honeymoon, but not really. More like the first public appearance as husband and wife to all our friends and so on.
3) We're going to Disneyworld in Orlando FL for our honeymoon and Fiance and I both agreed that we wanted to go later (not the end of June) for a number of reasons: A) September won't be as humid or as hot, B) there will be less crowds and less children if we go after Labor Day and C) Disney is much more affordable in their 'off' season. If we hadn't gone in Sept., we wouldn't have been able to afford it at all! Plane tickets and so on are also cheaper at that time to go to Orlando.
And having our honeymoon in Sept. means that we can quite possibly use our property tax refund money to have a bit of extra spending cash without ruining our daily budget! Having a honeymoon registry is great, but when it all goes on a Disney gift card and you can only use it for Disney stuff (not including tips! Or alcohol, not that either of us are big drinkers, but it's our honeymoon and when you don't have to drive anywhere . . . ), you realize that you really do need actual *cash* as well, so we've been saving up honeymoon cash too. And using the property tax money will help big time.
We don't mind waiting. After all, we waited 18 months to get married, waiting 12 weeks for our honeymoon will be a snap!

We left 5 days after the wedding because of the cruise schedule. I liked having a few days between the wedding and honeymoon to relax and unwind, and also to put away wedding stuff and pack for the honeymoon. I think it would have been stressful to leave the next day and we would have been really tired.
We will be flying out the morning after the wedding for our cruise. I'm sure it'll be a little hectic at first, but we wanted to be able to take a trip right away because of our work schedules.
We are getting married on Saturday and leaving the following Wednesday for our flight/cruise. We had to do this because of the cruise but I am glad about this because we won't open gifts until Sunday (afternoon) at home and then I'll have 2 days to pack clothes for the honeymoon & unpack gifts! :)

We had a kinda DW wedding, it was in Hawaii but DH is from there and some of my family lives there. So we were there, but then we went to Europe 3 months later on a real HM!

we are getting married on a friday afternoon, everyone is staying the night at the venue, we all have breakfast toegther. then we drive back to town (2.5hrs) unpack etc on the saturday, print piccys and pack for honey moon on sunday and were supposed to fly out on mondya morning, but due to the recession thing, flights have been educed and we are now flying out monday night. This means we will have time to go out for lunch see the new harry potter film and relax before actually leaving town.

I chose “the following week” but I should have chosen “Other”. We left a little more than two weeks after our wedding. :D

We went on our honeymoon 6 months after our wedding day! :D It still felt very romantic and special.
We had originally planned to leave straight from the wedding, but found it'd be more efficient and CHEAPER to leave on the next day. Worked out GREAT too!!!

It's kind of up in the air as of right now. We'd like to go somewhere, but it'll be somewhere close. We're thinking Door County, Wisconsin. I've heard very good things about that area, and FH wants to go somewhere a little further than just within the state. If we do this, I imagine we'll leave on the 26th... we don't wanna waste any days since we don't really know how many days he can get off work yet.

Door County is nice. Its very quite and relaxing! They also have some good shopping and wineries!
Careful though, depending on what time of year you go, its VERY touristy.

Thanks for the info! I think we'll find touristy places anywhere we pick since it'll be July. It probably won't be as crazy as some places, though.. at least I hope, if we do end up going there.

We were all messed after wedding and too tired to go for honeymoon.
So we have settled all the things which took almost 2 to 3 weeks and after that we have gone for honeymoon.
It was not decided previously to postpone the honeymoon but the circumstances leads to that.
But we have enjoyed our honeymoon.
