yes! i am soooooo excited! i was looking through the perfect wedding guide, and came across this place called private property houston, and OMG i fell in LOVE!!!!!
you guys for $1250(+$250 refundable deposit), i get a 20K acre lake, indoor/outdoor pavillion that will hold up to 300 peeps, an a-frame house(will be used as bridal suite!), plus a 2k sq foot home converted to a hall that i think would be awesome if we had a family camp out all weekend! it has several restrooms, 2 full kitchens, a stage w/raised and fully loaded dj booth(plug in a laptop and go!), and seating!
the only thing hitching me, haha, is that rather than tables and chairs, the man custom built picnic tables that hold 30p/table....but with the price WHO CARES?????!!!!!
AND THE BEST PART IS, since i'm booking it for the whole weekend, rather than just the afternoon, i'm getting it for the price of i suppose what you would consider 1.5 days!!!!! the price i'm paying, would technically be for friday noon till 12am saturday night! but i get it until monday at noon, which provides time for clean up and play, and a place for alex's 1st b-day, since his b-day is the day before!!!
as soon as the boys finish eating, the man is agreeing to meet me now!
OK I have to shower real quick, i'll reply later and tell ya how it went!!!

so okay i went and looked....it' a little more casual than the pics online made it to be, but omg i fell in love again with it! their indoor reception spot, can hold 50 people sitting and has a 6 inch platform(so perfect for indoor ceremony!), and outside is a HUGE outdoor covered deck(attached to building), with an outdoor stage that is very lifted, but has a good sloped walk way!(maybe option for ceremony weather permitting). it has this hige lake, where he said the ground is solid enough to set up our ceremony also, and here's another awesome thing:
since i can have it from friday till monday, weather permitting, it would allow us to have a "weekend wedding"! and maybe everyone can camp out and we can do all the "country stuff" everyone of us love! it also has a huge bbq pit, and benches that go around one entire side of the deck(allowing for extra seating!), and the a-frame house, is a rustic 1 bedroom loft with updates, that would provide a place for everyone to get ready, and me and chris not see each other!!! the back door goes into the kitchen, which is kinda catty-cornered from the LR, and the stairs are in the LR, which means us girls could be upstairs, and my mom's big bouncer looking fiance could "protect" the stairs hehehehe!
and i'm not counting on it, however my mom's bf made the comment that if we ever got married and had a "real" wedding, he'd be willing to pitch in...that comment was made after his own daughter(who is now 23), decided she was going to have some wanna-be wiccan high priestess style "hot topic" wearing wedding, and he was horrified!
btw-i am, how do you say, non-denominational, leaning towards scientific/nature lol.....but this girl is nothing but a poser.....the few wiccan people i know who know her, say the reason her wedding was like that, is she wanted to start her own coven(which from what i understand, is a HUGE line of bs-apparently, just like Bible College, becoming a priestess w/a coven takes alot of training, and no one wanted to be her mentor!
ok i'm done....just didn't want anyone to think i was biased, so i threw that out before i got "whacked" lol

the owner is going to give me until middle of may to pay the $250 deposit. if he doesnt get it by may 15th i will lose it.....but i know df will agree with the place, and it'll be our 1st family camp out lol, and since he's been offshore this whole time, i'm positive i can get him to put out the deposit(i'm paying for the rest of it.....)
but yeah i've got all the ideas in my head now, this place is growin on me like a weed hehehehe

well, we cut the venue...inlcement weather didn't cross our minds...but we are opting for a cost-cutting effect! it takes away our venue fee. we are going to have the small ceremony/reception in a wine bar. it's got loveseats and high tables everywhere so the manager said we can have the ceremony around 1030, and her and the staff will set up the sofas to create an isle, and then can slide them back afterwards, and put the tables back out. she said with herself and 2 more, she can have it put back in order in 20 minutes or less...then they have a private room, where we can set up all of our food and etc tables... they will be open during our reception, but she said that even though they are not charging us a fee, she will keep the number of outside patrons to a minimum, and try to have most of her to go orders scheduled then, so we'll pretty much have the place to ourselves.
all we have to do is order wine/champagne/beer from them, and pay 18% gratuity, and there's no minimum $ order. they have no hard liquer(which is actually good, even though we'd wanted a oj/vodka bar), and their bottles start at just $15...so i really cut costs there...so we're going to get our parents the 1br suits at homestead suites, and let all the kids camp down in our living room, which will give them 2 nights for slumber parties, which i'm sure they'll love! so now that we've done that, it'll cost us about $275 for our parents to have mini-apts for the weekend, and it gives us back about $500!!! go us! and the room is actually really neat, the lights can be dimmed to dang near off, and they have these huge barrels that the mgr said if we wanted, we can cover with white sheets with big X's on them, and use them as our cake and gift tables, and make them look like illegal booze kegs!

it's more of a modern feel, but it's comfy and i think it'll go much better than an outdoor country setting...when fh called a little bit ago, he said he thought the idea was great...especially since he loves wine to being with!
