i was searching around on sites like delias.com
and they have ALOT of really cute short(knee) dresses, some are satin, some slinky, for less than $60.....
thought i'd throw that out there.....
also, like one girl suggested, forever 21, the body shop, the rave.....also, try those little boutiques that are on the side of the road or in the mall....my girlfriend found a dress she LOVED at david's bridal($165) for the USMC ball a couple years ago, and she went with me to this quinceneara(spelling?) shop(where i got my sisters 8th grade prom dress for $40), and found the EXACT same dress, same color for just $79.99, and for $125 she got the purse, sash, rhinestone hair clip, shoes, and a custom made garter that had dog tags that had the year and such(plus, out of his 4 years, it was their only ball together-he was in boot for one, japan for another, and iraq, so she was their for his last one!)
also, if you're having just 1 attendant, or you're looking for an awesome bargain dress, try cleaners!!! sounds way crazy but a friend of mine and i went to pick up our husbands uniforms, and she found an $800 dress for just $200! no idea why, but the bride never picked her dress back up after alterations and cleaning...so they sold it for what they owed...plus, it helped that the shop had no idea what it was worth(they could've put it online for way more).....i think she had to pay another $125 to have it taken in for some spots, and shortened, but ****! it was an amsale dress! so we assume bride bought it at a trunk sale, and don't know after that!(tag was in bottom of bag, with all numbers matching dress!)
cleaners can sell items if they are left longer than 30-60 days.....
