So here is a little history on this story.Because I live on the line of two towns, my Physical address and mailing address are different along with different towns. When i purchased my FH wedding band I was almost positive that It was getting sent FEDEX so I gave them my physical address. Well come to find out they sent it to P.O. box but it went to the WRONG Post office. That post office sent it back to the sender because we did not have a Box there. So I emailed the company and asked them to resend it to my actually P.O. box. They said they would. SO.... My FH had an issue with something that got shipped suprise suprise.. so he called the PO that it was going to get sent to and that we dont have a Box. They told them sure they will hold his for him. Then they go ..Oh we just REsent the other package(FH band) again to the sender because it got resent here for the 2nd time.(couldnt they have called me they have my number)..GRRRRR..so again I emailed then and explained to them the situation and asked them again when it returned to the again please send it to my right Mailing address....Here is the email that I recieved back..I feel that there are parts in it that are rude and a bit unprofessional..I read it to my mom and she did also....

Amanda,

We did not send the package to any wrong address. The package was sent originally to the addres that was provided to us by Amazon:

We received your e-mail asking us to change the address and we replied to your e-mail telling you that we would keep the information and send it back to the address you provided us with on your e-mail. This is just an exception we wanted to do for your since WE ARE FORBIDEN BY AMAZON TO SEND PRODUCT TO ANY OTHER ADDRES THAN THE ONE PROVIDED BY THE CUSTOMER AT THE MOMENT OF PLACING THE ORDER. Sometimes we do make exceptions when we know that the customers are honest and that for an error the address provided was not the address intended for the items to go to, and we are willing to make this exception for you.

Your package has not make it back to us. The Post Office has not return it to us yet, so we have not sent it again to the wrong address. The package they are talking about is the same package that went originally to you, you can check for yourself for it is the initial Delivery confirmation number. If we had sent it again it would have had a different Delivery Confirmation Number with a new Mailing Label.

I just want you to understand that we have done nothing wrong and that is the Post Office that has screw-up big time sending your package to God knows where.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve you.

What do you think..am I overreacting? The Post office tells me one thing and they tell me another.... I did send them an email back explaining how I felt they were being and did tell them AGAIN my side and what I was being told on this end....Idk!:icon_barbar:

To me, it sounds like whoever wrote this email is just as frustrated about this situation as you are, so, I think your instincts were right because you picked up on the tone of the email, but I don't think it's directed at you at all.

Sounds like they want to help but can't.

Whitewater (and since wanting to help but being unable to always bugs the **** out of me . . . )

I do think that e-mail sent to you is really unprofessional. I don't know what to tell you to do - I wish I had an answer, but I think I'd feel a little put off had I received that e-mail. :(

To tell you the truth, I have never had any luck with Fedex...I lived at an apartment complex that had been there for about 30 years and they told me 6-7 times it didn't exist. I gave them directions, I gave them my phone number to call if they couldn't find it, and nothing! I was making such a stink about getting my package (which was an x-mas present for my future mother in law!)...they finally had a manager at the local depot drive it to me themselves! The company I shipped from refunded my shipping, and fedex offered nothing other than "I'm sorry I apologize for the inconvenience" over and over again!

Ask to speak to an esclation specialist. they can do the most help. Or ask to speak to the depot manager. That seemed to do something for me...minimal but at least something.

:bbeek:I think they are being a little unprofessional about it. Maybe calling and talking to them or something would be a good idea.

I used to work at the Sams club call center in the returns dept and this kind of situation was what I dealt with most of the day. The email sender had tons of typos and in the business world of customer service you NEVER use the words screw or God (unless you work for a christian company and you are blessing at the end). In my opinion the writer is frustrated that delivery was attempted twice. They can't resend until the original gets back to them. When delivery was refused it should have just gone back to the vendor but they tried again. The company has to sit on their hands until the package gets back to them before they can assist you and in the meantime you are frustrated because it is taking forever and it seems like you will never get the rings. Just sounds like the email sender isn't strong on their customer service skills. Im sure he is trying to help.

The only thing that stands out as unprofessional to me is the use of caps and the the last line - "I just want you to understand that we have done nothing wrong and that is the Post Office that has screw-up big time sending your package to God knows where."

I think it is inappropriate for a business to use terms like "screwed up" and such.

But I wouldn't really be that upset about the email in general. I would give it a little more time and see what happens.

I do know that Amazon requires the sellers to ship to the address confirmed on your account. I have two different addresses on my account and can change it when placing an order when needed.

I would willing to bet that the Post Office is not going to admit fault since everyone always picks on them in general for messing things up.

Hope it all gets worked out soon!

Yikes, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this!

I agree with you. I think it's quite unprofessional for a business to slam Amazon and the USPS, two massive corporations that satisfy millions on a daily basis, in an email to a customer. I also think they should have canceled the transaction and invited you to purchase the item through their site or via email before mailing a valuable, important item to an address they were told was not correct.

If they truly appreciated the opportunity to serve you, there's only one email that walks that talk: "We sent another ring via overnight post today, and we'll take the issue up with the USPS. Let us know when you get it."

Finally... their inability to use spell check doesn't inspire much confidence... :winktongue:

Good luck-- I hope this gets worked out soon!

fedex is becoming quite the POS these days!

i had a box shipped to myself(well, to my ex's house, but to me) b/c i was moving there....and do you know i NEVER recieved it! EVER!

inside was-a $200 heirloom quilt, a gold USMC medallion/chain, and a ring i was given about 14 years ago by mom's ex-hub(i dont care that was lost, but not the point!), along with a watch that was given to me by a boyfriend when i was 12(14 years ago as well)...it was a cheapy walmart boys sports watch, but that friend died in a horrible car crash in 2001...so it had precious meaning(esp since it was all he'd given to me-and i was really mean & angry last time we had spoke)...and the e-ring i got from my h'school sweetheart(only $100 then but again not the point!)

so i call fedex and ask, wtf is my box, and i'm told that it was delivered to a house 2 streets over b/c the driver couldnt find my husbands home(and they figured it'd get to me! wtf r they crazy!?)!!! he was the ONLY house on the street! and on the front corner at that! i was told they were not responsible, and they'd only replace $100 of it, even though i insured it for $500!!!!!(items considerably more valuable at that!)

xmas 2005, they lost a total of *5* boxes, 3 were going to the same danged address! again, not their problem? and that year, i couldnt afford to replace FH's kids/parents xmas! so no one got ANYTHING!!!!!

ups(not usps!) is the bomb! i've paid for 3-5 day shipping, and i've had several items be delivered overnight! at no charge! and at xmas we sent a dozen choco-covered s'berries to FMIL, and since the driver was so familiar with people in the town(pop about 5k lol), he took them to her sister's house(5 miles away!), b/c she wasn't home and he was worried he may not be able to swing back by, and knew if he took them to PO, they'd spoil.....THAT is service w/a caring person! that man should have his own delivery service ;)

Oh this made me thing of something else, I work with a guy who has a second job (well I guess the job I work with him at IS his second job), as a supervisor at UPS. Over the holidays I told him my troubles with FedEx and he said that sometimes when DHL and FedEx can't find addresses or get overwhelmed with deliveries they drop it at UPS and pay UPS to deliver it! When I had all my issues with FedEx I actually suggested giving it to UPS and they were shocked, but here's my thought...I paid them to deliver something, they couldn't do it, so when I can't do a job I delegate it out, so why couldn't they?

Point is, I would avoid using FedEx at ALL costs!
