Wondering if I missed something about Bernadette having surgery.

I got the lab results back saying that I have basal cell skin cancer. I am having surgery in May to have it removed. I am covered 100%, yay! It shouldn't be that bad of a surgery, lots of waiting though. They have to cut parts of it time after time and look at it under a microscope to make sure the cancer's all gone. I'm taking off a couple of days from work. I'll probably be playing Guitar Hero, and hubby's birthday is the day after surgery, so we'll go out to celebrate. I have to get stiches too, yuck! Hmmmm, maybe I should have hubby take a pic for you all! :bbeek:

Playing catch up. The power went out right as I had finished organizing everything - while I was mid-laundry and mid-drying my hair. I had to fax something, print out a bunch of stuff, go to the ATM (the power was out all up and down the street) and I couldn't even leave to try to go to another neighborhood to do all my stuff because my car was stuck in the garage that I don't know how to manually open. So I lost an hour.

Simultaneously keeping an ear out for the dogs, emailing about dress 'requirements' for wedding guest/friend (is this ok? is that ok? WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT, sheesh), taking meds, thinking about what to make for dinner and if I have to go and buy food tonight for said dinner, and figuring out what to do for tomorrow when I am snowbound.

Friend is now at the car parts store with $100 of my money to buy parts for my own vehicle, which needs brakes, in addition to Fiance's vehicle. Here's hoping he can do the brakes relatively quickly, it's getting cold and our garage isn't heated!

8:08pm Am cranky and constantly hungry from being put back on metformin by my new endocrinologist. If I eat, I get sick to my stomach. If I don't eat, my blood sugars go nuts. Really hating this particular transition period!

11:45pm cst Discovered about an hour ago that Tylenol Rapid Release WITH a goodly serving of caffine is helpful in managing my cluster headache. Not as sensitive to light, not as much pain, though still light sensitive and quite painful (and still with the runny nose and red eye, etc). May still have to head to urgent care tomorrow, but at least now I can function. Yay drugs.

4-8-2009 2:16pm cst I can finally see out of my left eye again, without pain, though it's still blurry (like a soft-focus scene in an old movie). Good news is that I probably won't lose the sight in my left eye 'cause I'm responding well and quickly to treatment, bad news is that I'm taking enough medication to choke a dragon (everything from steroids to eye drops to hormones and antibiotics) and still can't drive because I'm still very light sensitive and it's bright and sunny outside. Hopefully I'll be able to drive by Friday, got to go get the stuff to make Easter baskets for FH's nephews and Mom and MIL, it's time to revive the family tradition, now that there are kids in the family again :)

Got diagnosed with iritis, a serious inflammation of the iris, which can lead to glaucoma and cataracts and blindness! Now that I can type again, will probably post the whole story in my journal for those interested parties who want to read.

10:14pm cst Oh, dear. MIL just sent me her list of addresses for their side of the family's wedding invitations, and it's HUGE. I now find myself placed in the unhappy position of having to invite her entire family (because they're all tightly-knit and if one doesn't get invited we'll p*** them all off!) and then hoping that less than half of them actually show up. Fiance says it's likely that less than a third of the list will actually make it.

Is it bad that I hope he's right? *sigh*

4-20-2009 3:45pm cst Putting prednisone eye drops in my eye every hour. Hate it. But my vision is returning slowly but surely, so I keep doing it. Can now distinguish large objects and the haze over my left eye vision is slowly disappearing. At this rate, it will be a solid week before my vision comes back -- but at least the signs are promising that it WILL return, which is of course the big thing.

Just spent an hour putting the right pictures in the right envelopes to send out to the right people. Also spent a lot of time cursing myself for not putting all of our guest's addresses in the same place - had to hunt through all the places I wrote down addresses as I received them during the invitation process. But I found them all and now our guests will receive photos from the disposable cameras at the wedding. Also watching basketball. Shocker. :)
