Oscar themed wedding?

My FH and I are getting married in September of next year. We are trying to decide on a theme for our wedding. We want it to be unique but not too cheesy. We are both movie buffs so we were thinking of incorporating that into our wedding somehow. One idea was an Oscar themed wedding. I would really appreciate any feedback or ideas that you could offer. Thanks!:)

I think that sounds like a neat idea. You could always give out pop corn in neat little containers with your names on it. wait, that's more of a movie theme...hmmmm...I still think it sounds really neat though!!

Oh that would be cool, you could totally glam it up! I'm seeing very elegant BM dresses in metallic colors GM in tuxes with tails.....the whole white glove, top hat kinda thing (well maybe not the top hats)....LOL

That is an awesome idea...I say go for it! You could have showbills or ticket stubs (not for movies but for gala events) as invitations...I've seen them somewhere....

Welcome to Onewed and congratulations!! I think an Oscar themed wedding sounds fabulous!! When you walk in, the usher would ask, "And who are you wearing?" LOL!! You could really take this theme and run with it. It would be so much fun!! I think Amber would have loved that!! We're movie buffs too!!

I love this theme idea! I have never heard of it! You could make it really glamorous! You could even go with 40's, 50's Hollywood glam! Think Kathryn Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, and all the classic type actresses.
