ok, so I wanted to lose 10 pounds for the wedding. I started going to the gym and went through finals. During finals and the week before, I hardly ate due to stress and being busy. I lost 12 in 2 1/2 weeks. I went to my fitting for my dress and it fits perfect! Now I am wondering how to maintain while still going to the gym. Can I still do cardio? I do not want to lose any more as my dress would then need last minute alterations. I still want to tone my arms, back and legs. Any suggestions?

Well, it takes 3500 calories in to gain a pound, or 3500 calories out to lose.
You will have to figure out how many calories you were taking in, plus how much exercise you were doing, and how many calories you were losing via exercise, in order to figure out how to stay at this weight.
Example: If you want to lose a pound a week, you will need to cut 3500 calories somewhere, probably through diet and exercise.
To gain weight, you'd take in (or not exercise as much) as many calories as you needed to gain, remember, 3500=1 lb.
If it were me, I wouldn't worry about gaining or losing calories, I'd go by how my other clothes feel. Because you'll feel it in your shirts and in your jeans and so on, if you gain weight, even a few pounds, you'll notice!
Stick with healthy, low-fat, natural foods that are high in fiber and drink a lot of water. Chances are, you won't have anything to worry about!

Hi Karyanne,
A dietitian told me this:
1. Add 250 calories per day to your existing plan
2. Check your weight after 1 week. If you're still losing weight, add another 250 calories per day.
3. Check your weight after 1 week. If you're still losing weight, add another 250 calories per day.
4. Once you have a stable body weight, go on with your last amount of calories intake.
Hope this helps :)

Going with the advice above, of adding in small amounts. I found this site, it is for weight lifters but they drink a lot of protein shakes and eat a lot of chicken and tuna.
