provera?

Has anyone here taken provera? I finally called the dr about my issue of being 10 weeks since d&c and still no period. He proscribed provera. If anyone else has taken it, did it work? Did you have any side effects? I really wanted my period to come on its own but I dont want to wait forever!! Ive been charting and my temps are really low and kind of erratic. Ahh the joys of being a woman.

so far so good. I am praying this works. I am on day 4 of 10. After 3 pills I got cross hairs on fertilityfriend, so that is exciting even though it isn't real. Maybe this will actually make me have a period.

What are cross hairs on fertilityfriend? Is Provera supposed to give you a period?

I have!!! I had an ectopic pregnancy in VERY early stages...

My Doctor prescribed Provera and then did an ultresound to make sure that the uterus expelled everything thus allowing me to bypass a D&C...

The Provera was fine. I took it for about 4 days before I started to spot...Then when my period came I cried and cried...It hurt soooooo bad. I could imagine (partially) what childbirth is going to feel like. I couldn't even sleep cause the cramps were soo bad...

But, It kickstarted my period and allowed me to avoid a D&C... All was well :)

the cross hairs on fertility friend are how it marks that you have ovulated on a certain day. Yeah provera is supposed to make you start your period by tricking your body into thinking you ovulated, which it did that part so hopefully I start my period. I have taken 4 and will take the 5th on tonight. The dr said most people don't start their period till a few days after the 10th pill but some start while taking them.

well I took the last pill yesterday (10 days). and so far just brown spotting. I am starting to think something is wrong with me. The nurse said I should start my period either towards the end of the 10 days or 3 to 5 days after I take the last pill, but all Ive done is spot. I am so worried I have problems because of the d&c, scar tissue can form and mess stuff up in there and they never told me that was a risk!! I thought I would have been back to normal by now, it has been almost 3 months :-(

OK so the provera worked like a charm. took the last pill thursday, no pill friday and started my period saturday morning!! she said 3 to 5 days not 1 day haha. This is by far the worst period I have had in a long time. It is the first non-birth control period I have had since like 2003, yikes. Now i am wondering why did I do this to myself haha.

this is my second time of using depo provera. I will go to my doctor this coming Monday to check if what are other contraceptives that is good to use because I don't want to continue using depo as I want my regular menstruation...

depo-provera and provera are different. Maybe they are somewhat the same, have the same ingredients, I dunno?? Provera isn't a contraceptive, its a nice little pill that makes you have the worst period ever haha. Its used to make you have your period.

I would def find a different kind of birth control, I have heard bad things about depo-provera
