Hello everybody. I am having problems trying to find a wedding theme. The wedding takes place September 4, 2004 and it is Canada's Labour Day weekend. I am not sure if September already falls under an autumn theme or it is still considered summer? That's the dilemma I am faced with right now so if anyone could give me some pointers that'd be great. BTW I have already ordered my invitations (big mistake) :( and the colours of the invitation are periwinkle roses. I ordered them more for the colour because I was thinking I'd have baby blue and silver as my wedding colours. I dunno....what do you guys think?

thank you!! :D

Wow I feel like I am being duplicated...lol  . As far as a theme goes, I think that it isn't too soon to have a Autumn themed wedding. September long weekend is after all in September and depending on where you are in Canada I think some leaves will almost be starting to turn. I also wanted an Auntumn wedding but because I am marrying a farmer, that wasn't really an option because of harvest. Last summer we went to an August wedding and they had the fall theme going, I thought it was a little soon, but it worked. As far as your invitations go, I don't think that they need to match the theme of your wedding necessarily. I think that it is fine to have a fall theme wedding with the leaves and fall colors and that it would look very beautiful. Hope that helps! :D

You are not required to have a theme for your wedding. Go with what you like. Years from now you will not care if your wedding was the end of summer or the first of fall. You may care that you didn't get the look or feel that you really wanted. Follow your heart!

I'm not sure if Canada is any different from the US, but in Texas, most September weddings that I have shot have a fall theme (even if the weather down here stills says Summer) and the colors were still nice enough for the photos and everyone was comfortable in their outfits. The color of your invitations sounds nice but I've seen invitations that didn't come close to the final colors of the wedding. I know you want you day to be special and every detail is important, but as it has been said, this is your wedding so follow your heart.

The season (and calendar) to not have to dictate the theme. Do you have a preference between "Fall" or "Summer" in decor, color, and thematic accessories? Or if you prefer one of the other seasons, or something non-seasonal, you can go that route.

And like As You Wish said, you are not required to have a theme.

Have fun with it, and (gosh, I wish I'd said it first! ) go with your heart.

Hello everyone! I wanted to thank those who have replied. You're right....I was just stressing for no reason. I guess I just wanted things to be just perfect and everything coordinating. I think I am gonna go with the fall colours so that should look pretty and nice for the pictures.

thanks again,
