I was half watching something on TV last night about the worlds greatest beaches ... what sort of beach would you prefer to visit?

I am gonna say 'Quiet, secluded beach/no kids' ... I don't swim in the ocean, I don't tan, I just I would love to go somewhere and just walk on the beach with DH and our dogs.
Of course if I was on a trip with family including my nieces then of course we'd have to go to a family beach ;)

I'm such a dork. I voted other because I've always wanted to be on a quite sexy beach with FH, but also a fun family beach with a ton to do!!

Oh! I watched that too! Did you see 7 mile beach in Negril, Jamaica on there? We got married there and are going back this summer. :chimp:
It's perfect...quiet, the water is super warm, clear and calm....and you can just lay there all day and not worry about a thing.

My DH is from a Seaside town in Cleveland. (No, not THAT Cleveland lol)
So a Beach is a a Busmans Holiday to Him.
I've always wanted to visit Bondi Beach. But our friend Bruce said it's not all it's cracked up to be. Some parts are filthy and covered in junk.
I suppose the brochures will only show the good parts.
I'm not really one to sit around all day on a deckchair either. I laugh when friends fly all the way to Spain and just sit there.
All that time and money just to sit under a big ball of fire in the sky. Just because Spain is a tadge nearer to it that England. Oh, and be surrounded by Brits and Ex-Pats.
Give Me green fields and something to do anytime.

For now, I'd like a quiet, secluded beach with adults only. Disney's Serenity Bay is like this. When we were there, we lied in a hammock, sipped on our drinks, and watched the beautiful ocean. It was so relaxing we almost fell asleep! We also scoped out the creatures in the shallow water, found a huge starfish. I told hubby to pick it up and he said no, I know he was scared, I was too!

I was only half watching and not really paying attention ;)
Sounds nice though :)
Me; I prefer not to fly ... so it would be beaches we could drive to for us ;)

I voted for the fun, family beach. I can't imagine going to the beach without there being kids there, even if I don't have any of my own! Plus, this way people won't look at me funny when I pull out my little bucket and shovel and start building a sand castle!

I've been to a beach maybe 4 times in my life... so I think any type would be cool. I mostly like them because of how pretty they are, so I wouldn't want to spend hours and hours there. I can't swim, so it'd probably be nice to take a walk near one or go searching for sea shells.

Out of the few times I have been to the beach, I enjoyed the quite adult one ones better. Its just more relaxing without people walking by all the time and kids running around screaming!:)

When we were kids growing up each year Dad took us to Nags Head, NC. Yeah there were lots of families there. Lots of cute guys :bbeek:. Worked for me and my sister. There were crowed beaches will lots of people and then you walk awhile and you have to whole place to your self.
Me, I am up for any beach! I have had some wonderful romantic and sexy moments on quiet and/or secluded beaches, but I also loved leaving the windows of our honeymoon room open when we took afternoon naps and waking up to the sound of the ocean and children playing.
But I must say that a party beach would be on the bottom of my list!

Quiet and secluded, no kids please. I don't care for the party scene, I don't need anything particularly sexy, just a little peace and space. Somewhere FH and I can swim, lay out, read a book, make a sandcastle..whatever. Just no kids.
Over the summer we stayed at this place with FH's parents with like five cabins and a little beach we all shared. The resort owners had some pedal boats out that guests could use... FH spent 5 or 10 minutes holding one of the boats up on its end so that all the water could drain out of the teeny tiny hole... he finally got it drained and walked away for 30 seconds to grab some sunscreen and a drink to take with, and some kid had grabbed the boat and was already out in the water with it. There were others there, and he chose that one, after he and his parents had watched FH drain it! Little turd.
