After wedding activities

So what did you/what do you plan to do the next day after the wedding?

If it was up to FH and I, we would sit at home with our dogs and relax, open gifts and not do anything and not see anyone. lol I am going to be EXHAUSTED after the wedding & I will just want to rest and have a nice, peaceful, quiet day with my new husband. But I already KNOW that we won't get that lucky.

Instead, we'll probably go out to FH's shop and eat breakfast/brunch with OOT guests, family & wedding party. I'm sure everyone will make us open the gifts in front of them. My mom & MOH have already insisted that they have to be there when we open gifts, even though we already stated we didn't want to open gifts in front of anyone. I didn't realize watching people open gifts was so exciting. :o I guess I don't find it as fascinating as others do! hehe

I wish we could leave for our honeymoon the day after the wedding so we could just be alone together, but we aren't going on our honeymoon until a few days later.

So what are your plans/what did you do the day after the wedding?

I'm not sure yet. I know we will leave for our honeymoon that day. I dont know yet when since his mom is getting all that.

I'm like a little kid though. I know I wanna open all the presents/cards! lol

We'll be up bright and early at the airport to catch our flight to Atlanta, which then connects us to Quito, Ecuador. I'm not entirely thrilled about spending most of the day traveling after a massive top-shelf open bar event, but I guess I can't complain about sleeping off the hangover on the flights. We have 10 hours at our hotel in Quito before taking a 3.5 hour bus ride to our first destination. Every review for the hotel in Quito raves about their showers (seriously!), so I guess I have a great shower to look forward to after all day of flying and before another dreadful bus ride. :bbredface:

The day after the wedding we did a lot of clean up. We did a brunch with the bridal party as well at the resturant we had it at and we paid them.

Then we had to fly back to Georgia.

We'll be returning to clean up, since we're doing all the decorating/catering/etc ourselves. And we're debating what to do next - we want to provide breakfast/brunch for all those who are helping out with cleanup, but are divided on whether to do it there (easy, since we're already there and have plenty of space, but not terribly comfortable), or have everyone trek to my folks' place a few miles away and do a more traditional next-day brunch and gift opening.

Then we'll pack it all up and head back home in the afternoon/evening, since FH has to work on Monday. He'll work through either Thurs or Fri (we've got a great Ireland honeymoon package option, but Sun/Mon is sold out and Saturday is twice the price - just have to find out if he can get Fri off), then we'll be off for 10 days... just not sure where. I'll spend that week doing thank-yous and cleaning/organizing the house and finding places for new toys.

We're actually semi-starting the honeymoon on wedding night and driving to Atlanta, which is about halfway to Savannah. The next day will probably include sleeping late, going to the aquarium and coca-cola museum, eating lunch at the varsity, and driving the rest of the way to Savannah.

We're not going to have enough out of town guests to make it worth doing a brunch, and since it's a holiday weekend most people will want to get back to their lives and do their own thing.

The day after the wedding FH and I are leaving for our honeymoon to North Carolina. I can't wait for it to just be the two of us!

We stayed in the Hotel with Our Witnesses, DH's Kids and a couple of Friends. DH's Brother was staying at our house. So We all met up on the Sunday Morning and went en masse to Breakfast.

We then checked out of the Hotel. Everyone came back to the house and chilled out. (Or had Hair Of The Dog). DH's Brother then drove the Kids home.

When everyone finally left i finished tidying up (Reception was at Home) Then flopped onto the Sofa with My new Husband and went to sleep.
We went on Our Honeymoon the following day.

We had the typical lunch/gift opening at my parents the day after. I was tired and emotional since my mother had decided to tell me how disappointed she was that I didn't thank my father during our toast since he "worked like a pack mule for two weeks before." I had to lock myself in the bathroom and cry because I already felt bad about it. Of course, I said something to my dad during our father/daughter dance the night before and apologized, but he took it in stride and said "I told my friends I didn't pay for anything, so she didn't need to thank me!" But for my mother to bring it up the next day was uncalled for. It does get to be a long, tiring weekend! :)

FH and I will be leaving the following morning for our honeymoon. We'll be gone so fast we won't have time to blink. :D My idea of my first weekend as a married lady does not include any family or friends whatsoever :snide:

We'll be having the brunch/gift opening at my parents house.

We haven't decided on whether we are getting a honeymoon or not (depends on finances) so depending on that we may be leaving for that but most likely not until Monday.

We'll probably be hung over. I'm not going to lie about it. :) So we have breakfast in bed planned (it came with the ceremony package we bought) and then we'll probably just wander around Vegas until the evening. We have a couple of my friends that will still be in town and we're going to go out with them to a bar that has a view for the sunset. We leave the Vegas the day after that so it probably won't be a late night. :)

We got up, stopped at starbucks for something to eat and drink, went to the apartment to drop **** off (was staying in a hotel), got my hair cut a borics (i seriously hated it by then, lol), then drove to Niagara Falls. Oh the excitement. lol!

We are going to my parents house to pick up our darling dog Daisy. Also to collect all the things from the wedding, keepsakes, gifts and whatnot. We also have to return the tuxedos. After that we'll have to stop by FMILs house to pickup whatever she has from the wedding and to visit.

Then we're coming home and enjoying the day. Because on Monday we'll be on the phone and running around changing all my name stuff. Hopefully Tuesday and Wednesday will be very relaxing because it's back to work on Thursday.
