What do you ladies think of the difference between a 4pm wedding and a 5pm wedding? (in March) Are there any things you could think of that would matter as far as deciding which one to go with? Or since they're only an hour apart does it not make a difference which we go with? Thanks!

You have more daylight if you go with 4 PM. Winter might be getting to me, but that's the first thing I thought of.

why not split the difference, start at 4:30 pm and begin your marriage on the upswing (of the clock hand)?

i agree... day light was the first thing i thought of ;)
depending on where you are... it could be dark (or at least dusk) by 5pm in march LOL
then after ur ceremony if you're doing a dinner it would be a late reception if that matters to you.... i feel like if u start at 4 u could have a 6pm cocktail hour... but if ur not doing that then no worries

The sun sets at around 5:45pm here in March. If the weather is nice I would like to do pictures outside after the ceremony (but who knows, on Monday it snowed 4 inches, and this Saturday is going to be 70 degrees!! So it could go either way lol). However, I don't necessarily want to bank my decision on that since the weather could easily be bad. I'm not sure what "cocktail" hour is defined as, but after the ceremony (and pictures) we were just planning on getting to the food and reception festivities (lots of dancing!). Does 4pm seem to early for that?
So it the ceremony is at 4:00 - over at 4:30 - pictures go til 5:00 - we get to the reception at 5:15/5:30 - that sound reasonable?
vs. ceremony at 5:00 - to 5:30 - pictures go til 6:00 - we get to the reception at 6:15/6:30.
I just can't decide! Does one make more sense then the other?
And Gertie, I know it would bother my fiance to start at a 4:30 instead of an even 4 or 5 lol, so I know that will get shot down as I'm speaking. :snide:

we're starting our reception at 4pm but only because by 9 ..10 the latest.. i'm outta there! I'm already cringing thinking about what i'm gonna do with our 1 year old son.. i just know by 6pm he's gonna be ready to zonk out and we havn't found anyone to take him home early.
my vote: start at 4pm
