I had previously mentioned in a thread that my church was closing, and that I didn't know what to do. I was calling around to different churches, and wasn't getting much luck since I was not a member of their churches. I did find one lady, and she required counseling. We are from Virginia but the wedding is in Pennsylvania where I used to live etc.

Well, I talked to my Aunt and she reccomended this church. It's literally called "The Old Stone Church" It is still a church today, however, they dont really have a congregation or anything anymore. It is owned by the historical society, and rent it out for special events, meetings, weddings etc. You do have to find your own officiant, but I found a few non demonational ones in the city of Pittsburgh that do weddings for a small fee. I'm so excited. I think its nice. The only concern I have are those little four steps in teh front, I do know we have a few handicapped people and I'm hoping we can do something to be able to get them up those 4 stairs.....

but here is a picture of the place :

I'm so excited and I talked to the people that take care of the church from the historical society and my date is free and I can rent it :)

I think that's a great spot! Congrats - you'd have a great wedding there! If you have a non denominational minister you probably wouldn't have to worry about commuting up for counseling, yes? I know that was a worry of yours.

Yay that they have your date available! :)

Yup, no counseling! I guess things are working out for the best after all. It's such a huge relief. :D
