Just wanted to say hi to everyone.
Hugh and I first met in highschool (1978) and we went on just a few dates. He asked me to the prom and also asked me to go steady that night and I said no (DUH!). He went off to college while I stayed and finished high school.
Long story short, we found each other again in 2001 and we are getting married 28 years after prom night this year!

First off, welcome to the site! I know you will love it here. We are all like one big, happy family! Second, congrats on your engagement. Yours is such a touching story. I love the proposal!!
As for a surprise, I love the idea of fireworks! A friend of mine got married on the forth of July a few years ago. The reception was right near where they shot off the fire works. What an awesome ending to the day to stand out there and watch that!!!!!

WELCOME and CONGRATS!
I like the fireworks idea too, but I don't know what it would take to pull that off.

That's funny because Hugh and I could be poster children for "Computer Potato Weekly". We have full time jobs but at the end of the day, we go home and then stay up painting & designing until midnight or 1 every night.
We decided the other night that it might be a good idea to start walking - you know to blow off the stink and perhaps shed a few pounds before the wedding. Well, we walked for 45 minutes the first night and the next morning I stretched and pulled my neck somehow. Now I can't turn my head to the right at all .... I blame it on that :censored: excercise :) LOL I'll let you know if I ever go out walking again!

I know exactly how you feel, I decided to try and bull dog a calf this weekend so now my back is killing me and I let out little moans when I try and stand up or sit down...hmmph some cowgirl I turned out to be!
I love your plates too by the way, I will probably order one when I see how horribly far this wedding cuts into the next payroll check.

Oh my goodness ..... I wouldn't even know which end to approach! I am such a burbs girl!

I hear you .... I am spending it as fast as I make it. I have found out that I could become seriously addicted to EBAY. With any luck, my final numbers will balance out :w00t:

Lots .... We will be having a butterfly themed wedding. It's going to be a small wedding (50 people or so). The candle lit ceremony is in the evening, the reception is at the church and we are striving for a summer garden party feel.
I am painting/making butterfly banners for the church, painting/making butterfly clerical stoles for the ministers (there at to be three! - 2 friends and our home church minister). We have made our own butterfly invitations. Hugh is going to be paint our own butterfly signature platter. Our favours are to be note card packets featuring what else? - our butterfly photographs.
I have been busy cutting out 500 or so velum butterflies which we will attach to wire and thread through greenery with lights. We have butterfly confetti, butterfly window decorations, medium and large sized mesh butterflies to hang from the ceiling ......
If I don't stop .... I am going to creep myself out! LOL

Well it sounds like you are going to be a busy woman! I am planning on doing a lot of the decorations for my wedding too, since art was my minor and Graphic Design my major. I am looking forward to it, but already stressen! I am sure you are too! Have you thought about releasing live butterflies at the ceremony (instead of rice or bubbles). I have a website for them if you are interested. I think the lady that does them will ship all over the US. Just let me know!

Awwwww a new baby .... I miss the smell of baby powder and the feel of a soft head.

We are graphic designers too :)
Busy just doesn't explain it .... but it's better than the alternative right?
Thought about it but .... we are getting married in Montreal and by the end of August, all the monarchs are already on their way to Mexico. I worry that given a late start and possible cool nights, that they might not make it.
BTW - If anyone is interested. I have a link for a co. that makes those wind up butterfly things that you can get at Hallmark. They will print the bride and groom's name on the wings and wedding guests can "play" all night.
