First of all, I'm new to these forums...so "howdy everyone"

OKay, here's my sad, sad, story:

I bought my dress last Oct. (I know it was kinda dumb, but it was the perfect dress and required no altering at all!)

My wedding date is April 16, 2005. I tried my dress on last weekend...it's not zipping. I squeezed and sucked in all I could, but no luck. So, it's roughly 7 weeks 'til my wedding. I probably need to lose about 2" for it to zip. I dieted all last week, I feel better and my clothes are a little looser, but I'm too scared to try the dress on again.

I guess I need you guys' help on what my options are. Do you think I can lose the weight to fit in it? If so, HOW??

Would a girdle or corset help. I know it would be uncomfortable, but at least I would look fabulous!

Or...do you think the dress could be let out a little?? Here's what my dress looks like:

(I sure hope that turns out clickable  )

Anyway, I'm desperate!! It's just 50 days away. Oh, in case you're wondering, I'm not obese or anything...I just gained a little weight. Right now I'm about 155 (I'm 5'8") and when I bought the dress I was probably around 145. So, 10 lbs. in 50 days....is it possible??

Thank you everyone in advance for your help! I'm really desperate here!!

P.S Congrats to all of the brides-to-be!!! :D

Beautiful dress. It's possible that you can lose the weight but that is far too short a time to lose that many inches. I think that losing that many in that shrot a time would be unhealthy.

Well, this is quite the predicament. I am also in the same position but have five months to lose five more pounds. I know that there are ways to lose the weight, but as to being a healthy way, I really wouldn't recommend them. The best thing that I can recommend is to talk to someone who could alter the dress and see if they can let it out for you. Perhaps they can put a panel in the one side to make it possible for you to fit in your beautiful wedding dress and still feel comfortable throughout the day. A corset may very well be the way you may have to go. Let us know how it goes and what you figure out, until then I recommend cutting unnecessary calories, being more active, and drinks lots of water. I'm sure that you will figure something out and it will all work out fine.

I work out a Curves and love it. Last month I lost 5 and a quarter inches and 3 and a half pound.

I have also been drinking a lot of water. I really do not like the taste of water but I found these little packets of flavor that you add to your bottle of water and I drink these things non stop all day. They are wonderful. Depending on which brand you go with they can have 0 - 5 calories per serving and no sugar.

Hope this helps, it has worked for me!

I was just wondering how everything worked out with the dress?

Since your date has passed.
