Wow...I'm excited. We are actually starting to talk about real details for our wedding, making real plans. It's kinda surreal! I live in North Carolina, but we're having our wedding out in Southern California. My aunt lives in kind of a ritzy area in LA, and initially we were thinking of having it there. Looking around at venues was enough to make us go :huh:. Seriously expensive. So we looked closer to where my husband is from, on a military base, and we found a LOVELY location. It is a historic mansion with a gazebo on the back lawn (which is nicely landscaped). They have a ballroom inside. You have to use their catering, which is fine by me. I think they are VERY well priced for being in SoCal, so I am absolutely ecstatic about that. The catering manager told me to go ahead and send in my top 2 preferred dates (primary and back-up) so I can kinda hold those dates before I give them the deposit. We are visiting CA in April and I will be walking through to take a look at the place before making a final decision on it. But seriously, I am so excited...I can't wait to go see it! And I'm so happy we're getting a deal.
