I voted "went with the season". I chose Terra Cotta and Champagne for our colors. I liked terra cotta because I thought of summer and champage because I always think of elegance when I see that color which was exactly the look we were going for. In fact, It wasn't until about 8 months into planning that I realized what our colors were!! I just kept going with those colors and never really "decided" on them!

I gradually picked my colors. Pink and white. I'll be carrying pink daisies.

It's none of the above to all of those, including "goes with the season" but that's okay because its our choice! We picked burgundy, baby pink and ivory because we happened to agree on them after not agreeing on several other options.

We chose our colors based on the color of my dress and the fact that there weren't any roses in the formal garden where we're having the ceremony. Then we chose the secondary colors to compliment my dress's color.
It's all about the dress, baby! LOL! Well, not so much. Going with the dress color just seemed like the easiest thing we could all agree on.

I can't wait till You get Married. I'm itching to see Your Dress. :)
I know You wont show it before the Wedding and that makes it all the more exciting. I have visions of what it will look like. But i bet i'm still surprised by the Beauty of it.

I reply to the thread.
Ours were My choice. Red / Black / Cream.
I was originally going to wear a Black Dress. But i saw a Red Dress and thought what the heck. So i changed it.
When i first met DH i had Fire Engine Red Hair. So Red had to be in there somewhere. I'm always wearing Black (Except at work but that ends today Hurrah LOL) So a natural choice was Black and Red. I chose Ivory / Cream to break up the colours.
So instead of Black Dress / Red Hair i went with Red Dress / Red and Black Hair. But the Flowers stayed the same.

We went with our favorite colors.
My favorite color is black. My friends tease me and call me goth, although I'm not. It's just my favorite color!
DH's favorite color is bright red.
Bright white was thrown into the mix to break up the colors a little, as will some hints of darker red.
I've come to find out it's a pretty common color scheme. Makes it all the more easier for us! :D

My dress was picked to match RC's car since the original plan was to drive to Vegas and get married by Elvis in one of the drive through wedding chaples.

we are using clover & mocha with a little bit of cream or ivory for accents.
i always wanted to use a clover/sage color. I wasnt sure on the other color. at first it was going to be a pink color, then a orangey, then we decided mid september in the Poconos has a very fall like feel so we wanted a darker color so we decided on mocha

Our colors are turquoise, green & orange. I picked turquoise & green because they remind me of my favorite time of year, spring/early summer when the sky is blue & the trees are bright green with the new leaves. I picked the orange after seeing pics of turquoise & orange weddings and I really liked how the oranged popped against the turquoise.

We seem to have a policy of wedding colors by season in our family, I guess, though we never set out to plan it! My wedding to dh was fall and I am an autumn so we used all fall colors with a lot of yellows, browns, and goldeny orange. Daughter is planning a late spring wedding with wildflowers and bridesmaids in clean, jewel-bright colors. Probably pick a dress and let the bridesmaids choose colors.

I choose my colors because those are the colors I always envisioned my wedding being.

I knew everyone and their mom was expecting me to do black, white and pink, so I didn't want to do that. One of my MOHs and I were flipping through a bridal magazine right after I got engaged and they had a page of color combinations and I thought the navy blue, emerald green, and pewter grey were just so elegant and calming, voila, we had wedding colors.

We chose our colours because green is my favourite colour and yellow is his. We're using peridot green (the actual gem colour, not the DB's "peridot", yuck) and a golden yellow. If I had to use DB's colour names I'd say the closest DB's colours would be Olivine and Saffron.

I said went with our theme. We're using black and red (with white and gold accents - gold only so my dress will match SOMETHING!) since those are the colors of the suits in a deck of cards. Oh how Vegas...:)

I've always liked the medium blue color, so I knew I wanted that. Then I was trying to figure out what would look best with it and ended up picking purple. I would've tried to base it on what my fiance also would like, but he doesn't seem to have a preference for any colors... as long as I didn't pick green and yellow or gold (Packers colors).
In a way, David's Bridal picked the specific blue color for me... I wasn't aware myself that I actually wanted turqouise, not medium blue. David's Bridal doesn't seem to have turquoise, even though their cornflower color on their website look very much like it. And the girls ended up loving a dress at David's Bridal. Sooo... cornflower blue it is.

We're going with our favorite colors: blue and green. We're going with a Navy shade for the dresses with a lighter shade for the sash and then white, green, and blue flowers (pastels).

I chose "other" because I had a hard time choosing colors. I just gradually starting buying things that I liked and were on sale - originally it was just chocolate brown and fuchsia then I went dress shopping and fell in love with my dress which had had a turquoise sash and the sash only came in turquoise, white or ivory....so turquoise got thrown into the mix.
So we ended up with turquoise, fuchsia with chocolate and ivory accents.

My first choice was a dark pink but then I changed it to a light pink because my hubby's younger bro was married before him and his wife chose the dark pink that I liked. I didn't want our wedding pictures to look the same so I chose a lighter pink. :luxlove: Which ended up looking very pretty in the end.

We chose white and different shades of purple. Actually, DF chose the colors because he liked it, and it would look really nice with the white fully draped tent. In addition, it's also my favorite color!! :laugh2::laugh2:

I voted "other." Our colors were blue, yellow, and white. Blue because it's DH's favorite color, yellow because it's a springy color (our wedding was at the end of May) and because it went well with blue. White because it's a wedding and I'm not all that crazy about ivory.

I voted "other" - our colors were black and champagne because it was the first thing we could agree on. I wanted something that was simple and classic and wouldn't go out of style.

Our colors are various shades of pink with accents of red. I chose pink because pink is my favorite color. I chose red because the venue has red tablecloths and chairs. I like pink better than red, so I thought I'd use more pink than red. The florist suggested going with various shades of pink.

I wanted to have teal bridesmaids dresses, but a friend was married 11 months before me & used teal, had the same style dress I liked, & used the same candelabras I wanted to use.
After that, I was kinda let down and went back to square one! I had DH choose the wedding invites, which helped us choose the colors (black, white, red).

I have chosen goes with our theme
According to me it is necessary to chose that goes with the theme that you have chosen because if you don't it doesn't looks nice
and I can't do that because I want to look best. :innocent:

It didn't actually matter that much to me which actual colors I would choose...so I mentioned to my MOH and one BM that I was thinking of a certain color, and that BM showed me a dress she had in a similar color. It was beautiful and appropriate, so I told her that I liked it and wanted her to wear it - she insisted that she would buy a new dress if I wanted her to but I said no, I want you to wear this one. My MOH kind of whined that she thought I meant a different actual shade, so I said, ok, well then you can be in that color. Then when MIL came along insisting that SIL be a BM, too, I came up with a swatch for her that matched my other BM's dress, and she went and picked her own dress. (Of course, IMO, she was stupid beyond belief about it because instead of getting a nice dress at a reasonable price, she got a ridiculous priced one that she had to order...I guess that way she could piss and moan about "having to" spend the money, etc., instead of acknowledging that I gave her free reign to buy the dress she wanted, which was nice of me, right? lol. Oh and then she changed out of the dress SHE picked, way early in the reception, and didn't even ASK me if it was ok! And her outfit she changed into was ugly as sin!)
Anyway...then once the colors were decided for the gowns, which was way at the beginning, I based everything else on those colors - the flowers, the invitations and programs, the linens, and of course the vests & ties for the tuxes, etc. And I got many comments about how beautiful the colors were.
