ok so i need help with deciding on which favor to do... i priced it, and they are pretty close to the same price. i was sort of looking for more functional after the wedding too. so any other ideas you gals revolving around those two general ideas would be great too.
Option 1.
tall 2oz shot glasses with our names, logo and wedding date printed in brown. filled with pink and brown M&Ms or Jelly Bellys...(candy will be in tulle inside glass tied with brown ribbon)
Option 2.
wine glass with same print on it... the stem of wineglass will be pink, and a star shaped stem charm

If you are serving wine I say go for the wine glasses. To be truthful, I lean toward wine glasses in any case myself just because I have a small collection of shot glasses from back in my younger days when friends were getting married or we went to certain college activities where glasses denoting the event were given. Outside of the wedding/event, they've never been used. They sit in a cupboard over the fridge collecting dust.
I also have wine glasses from various events. Those are on a shelf with the dishes I use, and they occasionally do see use. For example, on Mother's Day my kids have been known to put pudding or jello in them for my Mother's Day dessert treat. I've been known to put pudding or jello in them for other special days as well. Occasionally, dh and I even drink wine out of them. LOL

I like the shot glasses; I collect shot glasses and might put a friends wedding one in the collection. I can't imagine I'd ever use a wine glass with someone elses name on it though ... JMO :)

i think im going with the wine glasses because fh liked that idea more so we can put them on the tables so they wont look bare... we are having a buffet where plates and utensils will be by the food... and they will be seated at their seats during the ceremony.....but im still going between the two because i know people collece shot glasses.... but i was figuring wine glasses would get used more.... but would people really use something that has someone elses name on it so i dunno.

I like either idea really, but I would consider the "mood" of your wedding/reception and your guests. Could you do both? Maybe the wine glasses for the "older generation" and the shot glasses for the "younger generation" ?

I voted for the shot glass just because I doubt I would actually use either of them, but the shot glass takes up more space so I'd be more likely to take it with me - as a general rule if a favor doesn't fit in my purse, it's going to get forgotten!

I honestly wouldn't use something with someone's name and wedding date on it. I'd probably leave the shot glass/wine glass and eat the candy out of it. Or I'd use the glass during the reception and leave it behind.

I'd be more inclined to use a shot glass with someone's name on rather than a wine glass. I have a shot glass with SIL's bachelorette party on that we still use. It flashes colors when you slam it on the bar! :)

ok so i talked to fh and my MOH and i decided to go with the wine glasses with the pink stems. but instead i would use our logo and take the initals out... that way its just a large star with little stars around it and tie a ribbon on the stem with our names and date on it

I think that's a good idea! I've been considering shot glasses too, but didn't realize so many people's feelings about drinking from something with someone else's name on it, I can understand though!

Just an idea, but what if you do wine glasses for the woman and mugs for the guys? Just from my experience, my FH would be much more inclined to have a mug for his beer then a wine glass. Where as I'd LOVE a wine glass over a mug. *Not sure of the cost though, might be a little pricey*
JMO though!

Personally I would choose the shot glass, but that's because I'm another shot glass collector, not just from events like this, but I collect them from different places I visit as well! But I do like your idea about using the wine glass without your name on it, that way people are more inclined to use them!! :) (And I LOVE stars, so that sounds pretty to me!! :) )
