It has been a long time since I have been to a baby shower. As some of you know, my MOH, just found out she is pregnant. She is due in February. I am going to host the baby shower. What kind of time line do you think I should be on?

This is what I was thinking. Let me know what you guys think. I was thinking maybe in early November. I am going to have a crazy Fall and early Winter this year. In October my cousin is getting married (we think...at first her date was supposed to be in May and then they bumped it back because of problems getting their new house built), anyway I am also hosting her shower. If they actually set the October date in stone I am going to do her shower in September. I am having 3 showers. The reason I am having 3 is because of the location of where my guests all live. So I am having one shower in my home town and one shower in a town an hour away. Then the ladies at church want to throw me a church shower too. I know the shower here in my home town is going to be in October. Therefore October is out for a baby shower. After you get past early November people start getting into holiday stuff, and plus my wedding is in December. Then in January we will be getting all of our stuff settled and I'll hopefully have a "career job" to start since I am also graduating in December. I don't want to get to close to the due date either. So do you think early November would be okay?

Sorry I rattled off a lot.

A baby shower is usually a month or so before the due date. So you could easily hold off until January.

Yeah....I agree with Lacey. It usually a lot closer to the due date. If her due date is in early Feb, then early January may be too soon after Christmas, so early December could be an option.

She could even do it in the middle of January or if she wanted to press her luck a bit the last weekend in January. That way, people have had a paycheck or two to recover from Christmas. That is a slow and boring time of the year anyway. People won't mind giving up a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to go to a baby shower. If you do it in December, a lot of poeple have holiday activities booked up early and might not be able to come.

Youre right. I forgot about all the other Christmas things going on.....sorry!
Kacie, has your friend had a sonogram yet to confirm her due date? That would give you a better understanding of when to make your plans?

I agree with the other ladies. I think mid January would be fine.

I have only hosted one baby shower before. The due date was October 27th and the shower was on September 11th. So it was about 6 weeks before the due date. This seemed to work out fine. The second shower she had for the father's side of the family was held on September 18th. I would say that late November or the middle of January might be best!!!..IMO!!!

I defiantely cannot do December because The first weekend in December will be the weekend before my last finals week, the second weekend I am graduating, and the next weekend is Christmas, and then the next weekend I am getting married. I have a full December! I cannot do it in the first weekend in January because that is when I am coming home from my honeymoon.

Cindy, no she has not had her sonogram yet. She goes in on Monday. She is almost certain of the time when they conceived. Her husband works shift work a lot and they are usually not up at the same time. Their time together is pretty limited so she is just estimating right now. We'll have a better idea after Monday.
