View Full Version : BEWARE OF DAVID'S BRIDAL
They give you absolutley awesome service when they are trying to make the sale but beware once they have your money the service ends. Get all promises in writing because they do not follow through or honor those promises after the fact. Watch for misordered sizes and items. They wont make good of their mistakes. Be cautious!!

That's a great piece od advice. I always recommend to couples to go local and maybe that means spending a little more, but the piece of mind will be worth it. Consider the difference of price like an insurance policy for your dress. BTW, I am NOT a dress shop so I have no vested interest. This is advice directly from other brides via "How To Avoid Wedding Disasters" (savingweddings.com).
Good luck. Tom

I was in a wedding in October and over the summer we went there orderd the dresses. We were told we would have all the dresses 2 weeks before the wedding. 2 weeks they told us it would be 3 more days three days turned into 9. Talk about stress, they didnt arive until 3 weeks after. We had to have this whole in the wall shop make 9 BM dresses in 3 days. We had gotten our money back from them after climbing up every ladder. I forsure wont go there for my wedding.

David's Bridal here in Chicago has provided wonderful customer service for every dress I have ordered there. I did not buy a bridal gown, but I went for fittings to see what "style' of dress I should get because my aunt is making it for me and the lady was still so nice, and sincere even though she knew that I was not making a purchase.
But... I have purchased bridesmaid dresses on 4 different occasions and have always been provided with awesome customer service.
GOOD LUCK!!

Well I think with a chain like Davids it all depends on what location you go to. I purchased my dress from there in May of last year, it was in within a few weeks with no problems. A month later we moved the wedding up and I had to exchange the size, again, it was no problem. THe day I took my dress in to drop it off, they had actually just gotten in a brand new dress, in the size I needed. All I had to do was swap them, with absolutely NO problem. All of my BM's bought their dresses from there, I have also purchased 2 dresses for other weddings from there and have always had great servicie. I did not go there for alterations b/c I have heard they are overpriced. However, I honestly think it depends on the sales rep and also the location...there are good and bad stories about just about every vendor.
