Ladies I got my marriage certificate in the mail today. I don't know, because I never got married before, but, when we signed the license I'm curious if I was supposed to sign with my maiden name or married name? I signed with my maiden name. I'm thinking that might be wrong. Now what do I do??

I was instructed to sign using my maiden name. I was told I was not technically a "insert married name here" until I signed the piece of paper with my maiden name. Hope that helps...I don't think it would be any different for you then for me being I'm Canadian. I would think it would be the same.

Thanks. I was just thinking, in light of having to send in a marriage certificate for somethings to prove there was a name change, no where on that certificate does it now have a married name.

When we got ours and I signed for it, I signed with the name I had legally at the time. When I changed my name, they just used my husbands last name.

Yes, signing your maiden name is correct, you are not technically married until both of you sign with your THEN legal name.

Yep, I signed my legal name at the time we signed the license. I think it has something to do with changing your name later.
