Just curious; were your children planned?

Yes, Ryan was planned. We tried for 6 months before getting pregnant. He is now a year old and we are talking about trying for our next one in a few months.

Yes, both were planned. I just had no idea that it would happen so quickly

Definitely not planned!!! Being 20, a full time college student, and finding out you're pregnant is definitely not ideal. Especially when you're not a "kids and baby" person. And being pregnant when you turn 21 is such a let down! But, for me abortion was out of the question and I'm not strong enough to do adoption, so I kept my baby and I am so happy I did!!! I'm going to be crying my eyes out when she turns 1 in April.
I may be having the worst day ever and she'll find some way to make me smile. Right now it's watching her take steps without any help or support.

I've always felt the same way - that I don't really want kids right now, but I think abortion is wrong and adoption is just... too hard. I always worry about gettting pregnant, but your story really makes me think that it won't be the end of the world if I do have an "oopsie baby" a bit ahead of schedule.
So thanks for sharing that wonderful story. :flower:

I'll admit, if I could have waited a few years I definitely would have (I always used to say 28 was a great age to have kids!) but my plans changed and I've just gone with the flow. And not to sound too cocky, but being a mom, at least in my opinion isn't that hard. Granted my nights aren't as free as they used to be, although I have great friends and family who are always willing to baby sit when I want the occasional night out, but I've already done enough partying to last me the next ten years or so.
Of all things, Riley has made me closer with my family and my best friend and her family (who are practically my family now).
And financially, it's not too bad. I nursed the first 6 months but now I get WIC which covers my formula, and formula can get expensive ($15 a can, 9 cans a month, although with Riley's teeth coming in she's eating more table food now and less formula). I save about $150 a month with WIC, and spend about $40 a month on diapers (I buy generic brands from Costco or Sams, they are literally identical to Huggies).
Nearly all her clothes were bought from yardsales for no more than $0.25 a piece. There's no point, with my income, in picking out $5-$10 outfits (unless they're for the holidays or portraits) if they're only going to last a month or two.
I'd love for Riley to be able to have a sibling close in age like my sister and I (18 months apart) but right now that's just not logical, but I'm hoping by the time she's 3 we'll be ready for another one!

little victor was definetly not planned. i did think of an abortion but i felt so guilty. i didn't think i could get myself to do it esecially with victor enraged that i even thought of having one but when i saw him as a lil pea on the ultrasound, i said "i'm gonna give my baby a chance at life" and so i did. everyone was all pissed off at me at first but now they're so happy. it's the first baby boy in my side's immediate tree! this will also be my last kid too. i will be VERY responsible to make sure it's my last lol.:snide:

Haha, definitely not. I was 17 when I had my son.
Now DH and I are planning to have kids, and at my age, we'll need to get a move on that, and we plan to start trying later this year.

Ha! I was hoping to be done by 35, but if we decide to have 2, I don't think that's going to happen.
