Hi Ladies,
Ok, so big news on the wedding front. I think that we have changed the date of the wedding from 11/4 to 11/5. We checked into the church and NCO club on base and they are available the 5th rather than the 4th, and are free to use. We only have to ensure that there will be at least $1000 in food sales, which w the wester buffet they have (which is what J wanted in the first place) and the # of guest, that won't be a prob. It will include the linens, china, silver, glasses, two votives for every table, food, serving staff. For the cash bar, we have to ensure $100 the first hour (which we are going to pay) and $50/hour each hour after that. No prob w military people being there. We can practically pull it off for about $1500. For the other church w all the same things, it will come out to over $2000. We are going to talk to the ladie today about it.
I told J yesterday that I am excited about the weeding again. No stress.

Sounds like a good deal to me Heather. And with it being one day, the change wont be a big deal. You could always say, "Oh did I say the 4th? I meant the 5th! Sorry."

Well, J was worried because the save the date cards say the 4th, and people may be confused when we send the invites. I told him that we can put alittle insert in the invites stating that the date was changed due to church availability, and then send the invites a bit early incase out of towners need to adjust dates themselves.

I think that's a great idea, Heather, and I don't think it would really be that big a deal with most people. I'm just glad you saved $500!! I'm so happy that you are getting re-excited about your wedding!! That's awesome!!

I'm glad to hear that it is working out for you. Have you already sent out the save the date cards? If not, how much would it be to reprint them?

Thanks Lacey, we did actually send them out a few months ago, but we also put our website on the back, and since people may be checking back w updates, I figured that posting the date change on there might help too.

I would just go to Michaels or Staples and buy those little cards you can run through your printer. JUst print out a change of date and send those out to people. It wouldn't cost or take too much. You would just have the relief of not worrying about.

I was going to suggest the same!!!! Just print up a little something to send letting them know.

I think that's a great idea, Lacey!! Then Heather's guests would know about the date change right away, and can plan for it.

Not a bad idea Lacey, maybe I will have to do that this week. Thanks!!

I don't know how many guests you are having, but you could also call some of them and then have them help you spread the word.

Most of our guests are close to us, and we have contact w them often, so it won't be difficult to spread the word to them.

Then that is what I personally would do instead of paying for the extra postage and printing.

glad to know all is working out. and the extra savings is wonderful as well. i agree with everyone about the sending out of some cards to let them know. it never hurts to have word of mouth but cards will help them remember as well. something they can post up somewhere to see. once again, happy to know you are once more excited about it. things to have a tendency to work out.

To save on postage, you could send postcards.

THat is a great idea. I could send 'greetings from Az' postcards. Then just put the little message on the back.
