Where do I start?
Adam and I have been together for 3 1/2 years, but have known each other for about 6. We started dating on my birthday. No one wanted to hang out with me so he came over. LOL. (I think my birthday was on a wednesday). He never did leave after that. Strange, I know.

Adam proposed to me December 21, 2005. My birthday and my anniversary. I knew something was going on since he had been acting weird for weeks. As soon as I opened the front door, there he was on bended knee. My son was right behind me. "Dad that was so cute of you to do that to Mom" he said.

We will be married on August 19, 2006. We are getting married at a beautiful church. it will be a nondenominational ceremony. the reception will be held at the FOE hall. (It's like the Elk's lodge, but for the Eagles). That will be more our style. ;)

We have not decided completely on the honeymoon yet. We were thinking Mexico. I don't think it will be right after the wedding. I think it will have to wait a couple months after so we can get some more $$..

Well I have gotten all my invitations addressed. I just need to go get copies of the picture I chose. I am just going to take it to one of those photo centers (like at walmart). They have them for 18 cents a piece. so the invites will be going out late this week.. Finally. one more thing done.

Well, I got all the pictures copied and the invitations stuffed. Envelopes labeled. Now I just have to get down to the post office to find some pretty stamps. Want to get these mailed out on Monday.

I talked to my MOH and one of my BM's. They are starting to plan the shower/bachelorette party. I guess we are going to do it all in one day. They won't give me the details though. All I know is August 5th... It sure is funny how my MOH wasn't planning anything on it till my BM called her about it. I think my MOH is starting to get jealous that the BM is doing so much for me. It's not my fault she is "too busy". I've thought about changing MOH's but I really don't want to get into that drama.

So I am going to the seamstress today to try on my dress. I am going to be sooo excited if I can get it zipped up. I lost enough weight around the waist, but the ribs just don't seem to shrink. One of the advantages to having kids! :D Unfortunatly, my Mom got called to New York yesterday last minute so I won't have anyone there to take pictures... I will have to wait till she comes home and I will have her take some.

Well thank goodness for my BM. My MOH has totally flaked on me. First of all she wasn't helping me with anything for the wedding, so I let her know it was bugging me. She apologized and I let it go. So then she told me she was going to take care of the shower. My BM told her she would help with it. So, Cheryl, my MOH was supposed to do the majority of it... invitations, place, etc... and asked me to email her my list of people. So I did that the same day. THat was 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to get a hold of her since. I talked to Lai, my BM, and she has been trying to get a hold of her as well. Well, Lai finally tried to call this morning from her work phone, and guess who answers... Yup. So Cheryl told Lai she has got too much going on right now and it would be best if Lai just handle it all herself. And she also told her she has tried to call me several times. For one, if she is calling my home, it would show on the caller ID. and two, if she was really trying hard to get a hold of me, I have this wonderful thing called Voicemail. Forget it. I am tired of trying to chase her all over the place to get sh*t done. I don't even care if she shows up, and if I could actually get her on the phone, I would tell her that. If something major is going on, just call me and let me know. Don't ignore me. That is just going to piss me off more.

Hey Holly, sorry to hear about this. I went thru similar things w my MOH. She suddenly had no time for me, and dropped me for her new fiance (whom she had only known a month). I acutally had to fire her, and my sister is now my BM. I personally would have the BM step us at MOH, and if the other doesn't understand, that is her prob.

Holly, as hard as it is/was, it was the right thing. Ellen has had to do it, and I have too. When it comes to weddings, people get weird, they either get pushy, or distant. They seem to forget that it is one of the most important things in our lives, and some people don't understand that. I think you did the right thing. And trust me, you will feel better about it later.

Hey Holly. I'm sorry that you had to releave your MOH of her duties. Sounds like you went about it the right way. You tried calling with no luck. So an e-mail sounds good.

As for the un even bridal party i had the same thing. 3BMs and 2GM. The MOH and BM walked together since they are married and then one of the GM got to walk with 2 BM. You could have it that 2 GM walk with 1 BM.

Good luck with everything. Hopefully your exMOH will smarten up.

So, we found out yesterday where we are going to honeymoon. It has been an up in the air thing since we started planning.
Drum roll please.... JAMAICA!!!!

My aunt and uncle joined a travel club earlier this year and they got a week free to a number of places. We added 3 days (so it will be a 10 day) and we only have to pay a little over 2K. It is all inclusive, so that isn't bad at all! We will be leaving the day after the wedding, so boy oh boy is it going to be a busy couple of days. I am so friggin excited!! Now if this 40 days would just hurry up and get here!

Shoe shopping for me and my daughter.

It doesn't really seem like all that much now that I write it down.. I think it's just knowing all the little stuff that will be done the day before and the day of.

Oh there will be a ton of pictures, trust me! We are taking FH's grandma's camera. it is a really nice camera and takes beautiful pictures. She took our invitation pic (page 1) with it.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I am so going to need a Xanex by the time the day is over. Today is a state holiday so my daycare is closed. So guess who is at work with me today. that's right.. my 2 kids. I am going to go insane. They are being good... not running around or anything, but they are kids... they laugh and talk loud.. But I am also not going to get **** done having to worry about them being loud.. grr..

This weekend I went to Sam's Club and got all the paper goods.. (plates, napkins..) Spent about $150 there.
I also went and ordered all my flowers. Only spent $80 which isn't bad considering I got my bouquet (dozen red roses, ribbon tied), 5 bouts and 2 dozen roses. I am also going to purchase a bunch of wild flowers for the throwing.
I ordered all the food today. 40 pounds of meat and cheese. WOW!
Adam is going down tomorrow to check on the tuxes and to get our son fitted. He ordered them last week and are supposed to be in by tomorrow.

Things are getting so close!

This weekend I went to Sam's Club and got all the paper goods.. (plates, napkins..) Spent about $150 there.
I also went and ordered all my flowers. Only spent $80 which isn't bad considering I got my bouquet (dozen red roses, ribbon tied), 5 bouts and 2 dozen roses. I am also going to purchase a bunch of wild flowers for the throwing.
I ordered all the food today. 40 pounds of meat and cheese. WOW!

That is what I thought. If you don't want something, it isn't wasted on your plate. That's why I like the buffet style. Seems like alot would waste. That and i wanted to have food that would entertain the kids. Don't want them whining.

This is my mom's depiction of the wedding day. Just wanted to share:

Indeed it will and the way I see it the day will go something like this
17th
Go to Costco with Kathy
Go to Sam's - (I can even do that myself if needed).
Get nails done
Pick up stuff from Holly's
Go through the centerpieces etc to make sure we know what we are doing
and have the stuff
Go to Bed.
18th
Pick up food
Make trays
Run around crazy with all the last minute items we forgot.
Go to rehearsal - decorate the church
Have our rehearsal dinners.
Go to bed and not sleep - toss and turn. Smoke too much - drink a little
(not too much)
19th
Drag our hinny's out of bed after not having slept (until the last
minute)
Have some coffee and another smoke.
Shower
Load up the car with the dress, make up etc.
Go to church and turn on air conditioning - sneak another smoke outside
the church
Get the flowers - take them to the house
Load up the wagon (so to speak) - decorate the FOE - that's the Eagles -
Ha ha
Go back to the house grab the items we forgot the first time for the
wedding.
Go back to the church - play some poker.
And dum dum da dum - - - dum dum da dum .... There she goes.
FLASH - FLASH - FLASH - pic's you know.
Go back to the FOE - put the trays together. - Hopefully the cake shows
up.
Flash - Flash - Flash - more pic's but not a big deal.
Toasts - celebration - dancing.
Ta Da - mom goes home with the grandkids and kicks back.
No more daughter - she's a married lady now. Sob Sob Sob
Oh - really it's more like I've inherited a son - More Sob Sob Sob ---
but with a happy face.

She told me that we will rush all around and have an hour before the wedding and wondering what to do. She said we should bring some cards. I said "Yeah and play poker" then I got this great idea for a pic. We could be playing cards and I could get out a royal flush with hearts and "flash" my cards to the camera. I thought it was cute!

I am still recovering today from my bachelorette party on Saturday. Oh, boy! I had a blast though. I got some really cool stuff. My neighbor got me a digtial camera, which I am super excited for. I can use it for the honeymoon and get some good pics.
I had entirely too mcuh to drink. One of these days I will learn that I am getting too old to party like that. My mom made this drink called a Mojito (sp?). that was really yummy. Oh, you have no idea! We had a ball!! We did not get passports and had no problems. Our room was average. Nice, but not too much. We had a mini bar and liquor dispenser in our room. Needless to say, we drank ALOT! We flew Delta.

Oh, you have no idea! We had a ball!! We did not get passports and had no problems. Our room was average. Nice, but not too much. We had a mini bar and liquor dispenser in our room. Needless to say, we drank ALOT! We flew Delta.

And eating too? Amber told me that, if she wants to, she will be ordering a filet mignon by room service at midnight. If she wants to. Isn't "all inclusive" divine?!?!?!?

We aren't using passports either so I am glad you had no problem. We have a mini bar too...looking forward to that. You have made me so so so so excited. I am glad you had a blast and I can't wait to see wedding pics!

And how long did you leave your braids in? The whole time you were there? Did they hold up? I want to do that once.
I had them in about 5 days. I wanted to leave them till we got home but they were starting to get fuzzy. Didn't look very good. Took me about 4 hours to get them out though.

You will get a lot of people trying to sell you stuff. not just crafts and stuff, drugs too. Just smile and tell them no thank you. Keep walking. They do have some cool things you can buy, and I did buy some of them. Beware, once you buy something you will be surrounded.. I am not trying to speak ill of the people. They are great people! I really loved them and they are just trying to earn a living. I wasn't prepared for it though and want you to know what to expect. The food may not be all of what you expect with all inclusive. I'm not saying it was bad, just not the best. I think they take the food budget out on the liquor. :D You don't need to get your currency exchanged. They would rather have american money anyway, but it was hard for us to get change for tips, so you may want to bring some ones with you. That is where we spent the most, was on tips. I figure if I can drink for free all week,. the least I can do it tip out my barkeep 20 bucks.

No! Tipping is not allowed at the Couples Sans Souci, although a simple "thank you" is highly appreciated. You will however have the chance to tip airport baggage handlers and your driver to and from the airport.

Yes, we did a lot of drinking. Hard not to when the drinks are free. For us, anyway. It never really caught up with my until we got home. Thank goodness I had a few days to recoop before I came home.

I really loved that cake too. It was gorgeous. And we didn't have to spend extra for the flowers on it. We just used the flowers left from the flowerbasket and some decoration at the church...
