My Name is Ashley boyfriend proposed to me in September and we set the date for 06/25/2011...
Anyways we are trying to figure out our Budget.
This is what we have covered that we wont be paying for out of our pockets.
DJ/MUSIC. Since my dad is a DJ
Flowers: since my aunt has a flower shop "its her gift to us"
and our parents are splittings the bill for the "food"
What we need a budget for is:
both attires "groom and bride and the wedding party"
The venue
The person the marries us
and all the decor
the wedding license
the Bar
Honey moon
Cake
the thank you gifts
inventation
ETC
Any ways i was wondering what could this cost me? so i know what is to big of a budget or to small?:bbeek:

Well cost for all these things can vary greatly by the vendor and just the area you are in.
What I would recommend is coming up with a total budget of what you want to spend all together. Like say $1000, $2000, $5000, whatever; then go from there with everything else.
Depending on your total budget you may have to DIY some stuff, find a deal or cut back.
:goodluck:
Edit: I noticed you include the wedding party attire ... unless you just want to do this as a gift for them or whatever; they usually pay for their own attire and all.

It depends on how much you want to spend really. I chose to do a lot of stuff myself (DIY) and saved at least $1,000 if not more. I made my invites, STD's, Bouquets, bouts, Programs, Mexico brochures, barefoot sandals for myself and my bridesmaides, and last but not least my VEIL. (That was by far my biggest $ saver) I would decide on a budget with you and your hubby to be, and THEN fill in the blanks....:) Make a list of stuff (if any) that you might want to do yourself. Your budget will shape much better after this.

Your best way is to do the research wherever it is that you want to get married -- and you'll need to figure out how much money you have in the first place.
For example, if you and your FH sit down together and say 'well, we have $3000 I can take out of my [whatever] and we have $1500 in savings and I can cash in my term life insurance for $2000. . . .we have $6500 to spend on this wedding' . . . that will be the amount of money you have, no ifs, ands or buts. You won't be able to spend more than what you know you have available.
Then, you go and do your research. Call and/or visit the places and your vendors, check out their websites, email or whatever, and get an estimate for your wedding. Say, you have 200 guests (roughly) and you want a venue that's a golf course on a weekend . . . typically that will cost more than if you only have 75 guests for a weekday luncheon type affair.
And, using the numbers I hypothesized above, if you find out that the reception venue you fell in love with is $4000 and the photographer you want is $3000 and the cake is $600, well . . . then you'll have some choices to make! Because obviously you'll have a problem if you discover that everything you want costs more than you have.
So figure out how much you have to spend and what the typical cost is of things in your area, and meet in the middle!

All I can tell you is what stuff has costed me so far.
I spent $900 on my dress, though you could spend anywhere between $100 (if you get really lucky), and thousands of dollars.
Groom's attire shouldn't be bad - a lot of places have deals that you get a grooms tux free if you have four or more groomsmen. Then he'd just have to pay for shoes and possibly the vest and tie (like we did - it came to $38 total)
Bar can cost a lot, depending on whether you go open bar or consumption bar. It also depends on how many people you're "watering" :-P - We expect 125 guests and are spending $2500 for 3 hours of open bar (the rest of the night will be cash).
Favors are costing us about $175. You can go cheaper or more expensive.
The cake is costing us a little over $500 to serve 125 people.
Decor will cost as little or as much as you can afford.
Hope this helps a little bit :-P
Plan on spending at least 1,000 to 2,000 OVER your budget ~ I'm the budget queen and little-miss-thrifty ~ and I'm already 1,000 over!!:bbeek:
