Virus

Ergh, just two months after the last time I had to take my computer in, I ran into another virus on my computer. This time it's nasty and none of my programs caught it. It pops up as soon as the computer is started and you cannot get out of it. *sigh* I just hope it doesn't take the almost two weeks it took last time! Though I shouldn't complain too much, my buddies down at Staples are doing it all for free. :D

I think I need to get something new to protect my computer. Any suggestions? I already have Norton, which has been fine up until now (the last time I got one, it had expired), but I also can't pay a small fortune to buy one! :snide:

Sorry you have computer troubles, but yay for friends at Staples ;)

We use to use Norton, but we have Kaspersky (sp?) now. Not sure much about it, DH deals with all that, but it seems to work fine.

AVG is the BEST!!! :) Hope you get your computer back quickly. My husband acutally is working on 2 of my co-workers computers at our house as we speak (they both got a virus) Soooo glad he's in the computer business!

I was using Norton on my desktop until it was time to renew for the third time. This time I decided to use Mcafee. I was already using Mcafee on my laptop and decided to go ahead and use it on the desktop also.

Well the moment I installed Mcafee on the desktop it popped up with a warning. That there was a Trojan on my PC. I was freaking out. I read the rest of the message and it said that it had found and removed all parts of the virus.

I thought that maybe it was something that I had just picked up while I was unprotected installing Mcafee. But I swear my PC started running 10X faster. Honestly, I hadn't notice the difference until it was fix.
