I interviewed for it the other day and got the position. Today was my first official day. I have been working for about 6 months as floor staff and I'm now considered "gear lead". Our store has the GM, 3 assistant managers and then leads of a few different departments...shoes, men's clothing, women's clothing, accessories, toys/books/jewelry, and gear.
Gear is the camping, backpacking, luggage, mountain climbing, knives, etc. I enjoy camping, but I never would have thought that I would be so into the products that we carry. I'm excited, but I'm also nervous. Today went well, but I just felt like I was taking way too long to get my duties accomplished. I keep on second guessing myself. Overall, I'm more excited that anything though, I think.
I just wanted to share! Keep your fingers crossed that I do well and enjoy it!
