View Full Version : pre-wedding breakouts and post wedding depression
These two topics came up several times in conversations in the past few weeks and I wanted to ask everyone here..
1. Has anyone noticed any physical changes due to wedding planning stress? ie. breakouts, weight gains, etc.
2. For those that are already married, did you experience any post-wedding depression?

I'm married to the greatest guy in the world and I'm SO THRILLED to have started our life together! I also experienced post-wedding depression for sure. I knew it would be that way so I made a concious effort to enjoy every minute of my planning (and I did)! I spent sooooo much time planning, and I did a lot of DIY projects that I LOVED!!! We had an AMAZING wedding in Mexico and then came home to cold & snow :( I have to admit I was a little bummed, but now life is back to "normal" and I realize there will be many new projects to come!!!! :)

It's funny, because I was ALL about working out for the wedding and was super vigilant about it until the New Year hit - when I should be gearing up I've instead been so busy that a lot of my workouts have gone to the wayside. I'm not particularly worried about it - my dress will fit no matter what - although I would have prefered to tone my arms up a bit instead of letting them re-flab. So long as FH says yes, I'll deal with the flabby arms. Maybe I'll just tan them. Ha.
As for the acne, that is something I've been particularly concerned about. When I'm stressed I break out on my back and I'm wearing a strapless dress...so I'm a little worried!
I doubt I'll deal with post-wedding depression, but who knows!

Well, I can only really speak about number one. When I get stressed out, my skin does get a little rough and I will binge eat. Like three days without eating and then two eating everything in site. Not healthy I know, but I've always done it!

Oh yeah. It is mostly b/c you spend so much money on a day that is over. LOL. that's why you hire a photographer and videographer!!!!

I'm already married, but our wedding isn't until the end of May. I'm starting to feel a little stressed as it's becoming crunch time and a few things are falling through, but it's nothing I can't handle. I've actually been going for runs and doing Yoga about 3 times a week to clear my head....so the stress is actually making me lead a healthier lifestyle! :) Although, my upper chest and neck under my chin broke out last week and it's pretty ucky. :snide:
I'll probably have a bit of post wedding depression, but I'm getting to the point where I just want it to be here, have fun and have it over with, so who really knows....

I break out when I'm stressed. It's shocking how clear my face gets during summers, when during mid-terms I look like I'm 14.
FH worries himself sick. Literally. His grandmother was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, and he had to call in sick Monday because we were so concerned and did not know what was going on. And emptying his stomach out accordingly. My mother told me we're going to have to have lots of ginger ale at the reception. She's probably right.

I only breakout usually right before my period. But a month prior I went and got a Microabrasion cleaning and it worked perfect. I did not break out or anything.
One of my friends had a major breakout leading up to her wedding a few years ago and she asked me how I was handling it recently, so I thought I might bring it up with everyone.
Personally, I'm with Gwen.. I've gotten too lazy to bother with the "Perfect Push-ups" for my arms and I'm having FH oxy-pad my back on a regular basis to get the bacne under control. I've never had it before and it's sort of embarassing! I'm contemplating getting a bacial done in a few weeks to see if that helps. (Speaking of which, has anyone had this done before?)
As for the post wedding depression, my mom's worried it'll hit me once we return from our honeymoon. Honestly, I don't think I'd be depressed over being done with wedding planning. I love every minute of it, but I'm looking forward to being done! In fact, I already have projects lined up to keep me plenty busy - house hunting/moving/decorating and getting/training a puppy. :)

I'm concerned about acne and bacne myself. Right now my face is a mess and I'm still 6 months to the wedding....but work is super stressful right now plus studying for an exam in a month....I hope I can get it under control before the wedding.

typically i don't "break out" more than a pimple or two when stressed... i plan on starting a very strict facial cleansing regimen (which i should do anyways but i really don't care enough rt now) and if needed getting a professional facial or two...
mary kay makes this awesome microdermabrasion kit that is gentle enough to use at home but it works really well at getting rid of all those stupid lil blackheads u get in ur nose (or at least i do) plus it keeps my skin soft n clear
i will get my period that day tho... it always happens n i'm not on birth control pills nemore so I can just skip the placebos to skip my period...
I calculated my cycle last week and realized my period falls on the week of the wedding, so I skipped my last week of pills this cycle to readjust. :)

I did that when we set our date!
