This is why we have to paint Sierra's room - it's got nail polish on the walls and a dark rim around the wall where it was replaced after flooding in '89:

I had to show you a better view of her walls - aren't they adorable? This is why we're only painting the bottom half of all but 1 wall:

http://forums.onewed.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4267&stc=1&d=1237556943

Check out that carpet will ya! How can anyone live on that!

http://forums.onewed.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4268&stc=1&d=1237556952

Living room tile - some of you mentioned it so I figured I"d show you the full pattern:

And last but not least, my SPICE DRAWER!!!!!! I love it! It needs a bit of cleaning up and maybe a tune up as well but it's sooo handy!

I agree, carpet has to go! Love the little butterflies on the walls, and the soft yellow is so pretty!

The spice drawer needs some work - but it'll do for now :) Unfortunately the cabinet above it isn't another drawer. Everything's a little off in there.

First Sierra says she wants to keep the butterflies, then she says paint the whole wall. Eff that bouncing back and forth. I'm going to paint one wall solid purple and the rest will be half painted. She'll love it too lol - she better anyway

The colors will accent the butterflies and dragonflies.

That will be totally cute!! Plus, by doing that, when she gets sick of it/grows out of it, you can just paint the one wall purple, not the whole room!

Oh I know she'll get tired of the girly colors. She started going with blues and reds on me a few months ago, but that I'm afraid, was because I'm not a 'pink' person. So, because she wanted to be like me *so Matt says* I started 'going pink' so that Sierra can enjoy her young girly years.

I even put pink in my car :bbeek:

5:30pm and frikkin NOTHING. WtF! I'm fuming right now...

And I got a final to do - I have to drive 15 miles to do my final and it's in the other direction from my Realtor's office.... IF he calls me I'm going to have to drive ALL the way back to Elk Grove from Rancho and that's a lot of time wasted that I could have already done my signing or homework. DANGIT DANGIT DANGIT!

I hear they are allowing a tent city on the river in Sac... maybe we'll just go there *sigh*

On a happier note, Sierra picked out her curtains material. I'm going to make her curtains when I can get to a sewing machine. They'll be double sided so when she gets bored with one she can switch them :)

Here's the actual colors/patterns of the materials.. and the second pic was with no flash to show you the glitter-even though it's off color.

I hate that... I just typed up a huge response and lost it *doh*.

Matt and I decided that water isn't worth a lawsuit right now.. we just wanna get into our house. Plus, we keep thinking tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. HA! Tomorrow my ***!

Yes, the blue walls are a bit much! I can't wait to paint over them!

I can't wait to get Sierra's curtains up... I'm not sure how I'm going to make them yet, as they'll be double sided and I don't want them to look tacky. I gotta find me a sewing machine now.

I fell in love with this hutch.... it's only $150 on CL but that's so not happening right now *sigh* Deff. one of a kind and it's perfect for the living room.

Well, one more step in the right direction. My lender called me today *OMG*. She said that she finally got a hold of someone at the title company and they're drawing up our loan docs today, and they have to get them to a notary in the morning and we're *supposed* to be signing tomorrow evening. Who knows. We've sung this song before. But it's giving us hope, I just hope it's not false hope!

Even if we sign tomorrow we won't have the keys till after the bank signs - whenever that'll be.

You'd think! But something as big as Wells Fargo or US Bank (the two banks involved) can't really give a rats behind about an $80k home. That's pocket change to them.

Well....!?!? How did it go!?!?

Well, I'll give you a hint. My Realtor said he's never had so many issues with a loan before.

*sigh*

So we get to the office at 3:40 and sit down with our Realtor and his wife (also business partner). We wait around for about 20 minutes and the notary never shows up. So Jack (my Realtor) calls the agent at the mortgage company and asks her where the notary is (they wanted us to use THEIR notary, not our own). The agent says that she doesn't have the paperwork done yet. So Jack tells her that he has his clients in his office ready to sign, so she emailed all the paperwork besides the HUD papers (the papers that say how much we have to pay for closing - today). The notary showed up around 4:30-4:45.

So, we get to signing papers with the notary. Everything goes smoothly. We get all but 3 pages signed - the HUD documents with the breakdown of the money for closing costs. Jack hands over the HUD documents, which the agent emailed over around the time we were wrapping up the rest of the papers, and I look at them and my heart fell to the floor. The document stated that we had to pay THREE THOUSAND MORE than we were originally quoted. WTF!!!!!!!

I told my Realtor that that's $3000 more than we had planned and he looks at me with a blank face. So I'm almost in tears and Matt asks Jack "WHERE's _____ ?" (Our lender). Jack says "I don't know, but I can get her on the phone if you like." Matt says "UH YEAH!" Our lender glanced through the document after Jack emailed it to her and she found a $3000 mistake on the paperwork. PHEW!!!!!

So after we get this cleared up, and EVERYTHING is signed, the notary looks at us and says "Uh-oh". He told us that the documents are null, they won't work and they're void - we have to start all over again with new documents.

WTF!!!!!!!!

The documents are dated March 27 - FRIDAY! He said that the recorder won't take them dated in advance, they have to be dated the day that we signed - the way I dated everything when I signed it.

OmG! So now we have to wait AGAIN for the mortgage company to draw up the loan documents with the correct date and figures, and get them to us.

So we left - I was laughing the whole way out because if I didn't laugh I'da cried right there in front of our Realtor.

We went home and decided to go to the house (new house) and put up curtains and shower curtain that way we can shower there if needed. So we went to Walmart and bought some nice black curtains for the living room, along with a nickel plated curtain rod, installed that in the living room. We hung out at the house for a little bit talking about our plans, and we just got home.

*sigh* I'm SO tired I wanna sleep for a week when this is all over. I think I gained 20 gray hairs today! LOL.

So the lady who drew up the documents said, after we received them and before we knew they were incorrect, says "I'm sooooo sorry that this is such a hassle". And my realtor, who was talking to her, says "OK!". Like, what are we supposed to say, "YOU SHOULD BE SORRY!" LOL

It's alright.... I'm getting so used to it that we're just kinda riding out the waves right now. My agent says "Well, when it gets towards the end of the month they get backed up". I said "Well if they'da done this when they were SUPPOSED to do it it wouldn't be the **** end of the month!". He agreed with me LOL.

Umm... we could sign again today, or as late as next week sometime. Who knows. EFF them I say, we're starting to move stuff over. We just had a neighbor move back in to the house next to us and he's stole from Matt before, so we're going to take all of our valuables to the new house probably this weekend if we get a chance. If he breaks in again, we're not going to have anything for him :urgh:

I put my stereo over there last week - and was totally stressing over someone looking at the house and taking it with them (they're still showing the house btw). So now that we're so close, I think we'll be alright to move some stuff over.... We're hiding stuff LOL... corners, back of cupboards where people can't see it unless they're lookin for it, etc. I think once we start moving our valuables over we'll start sleeping over there. You're right, it's gotta be over soon!

I heard from my lender and Realtor today. They knocked off $2700 off the closing costs, but we still have to pay an extra $350 - supposedly it'll get refunded after closing. Thank GOD.

I have to go wire the money at lunch (10:30am PST). Soon's that money is out of my account, I'm so freekin goin to start moving in. As far as I"m concerned, if they have my money it's my house. I know I've said that MANY times.

Sorry to scare you. Your whole experience has been so different than any of mine have been when buying a house. I have always gotten the keys to the house immediately after signing. However, I have never bought a foreclosure, so that could be the difference. I guess what bothers me the most is that you have posted that they are still showing your house which tells me that in their minds the deal isn't done either. :(

Well, we called our Realtor and he said he'd request to have the house taken off the MLS yesterday - it's still up, but the listing agent has to be the one to remove it so all Jack can do is ask.

We picked out our carpet yesterday! Not only that - we got the "in stock - gotta get it outta here" price!!!!!! The guy said it wouldn't cost more than $600 to carpet the 3 rooms - that includes carpet, padding and installation. We're also going to add baseboards to our bedroom  We ended up with a dark solid gray for our room, pink (of course) for Sierra's room, and a very light gray-brown that should go well with the brown I want to put on the walls for the baby/office room.

We're off work at noon today so that we can race home and do homework, then go to HD and get paint. We have to meet the carpet guy at 3:30 at the new house so that he can take precise measurements and give us an exact quote. Dad's going to be here around 12:30 so that he can help us prep everything for paint. :whoohoo:

I'm still hoping to hear from my Realtor today regarding the bank signing. *fingers crossed.

Eh, no call from the Realtor.

Matt and I bought all the paint and supplies, a lawn mower and we paid the carpet guy. Soon's we're done painting we'll call the carpet guys and have them come install (they only need 24 hrs notice). I'm really excited with the colors we got - it's just a matter of getting it all done now.

I have an appointment with a HD rep about cabinet refacing. I'm kinda ticked at myself I let them talk me into the consultation, because it's going to cut into my painting time. Oh well *sigh* that's what I get. Plus, like I told Matt - it wouldn't hurt to know how much it'll cost to redo our cabinets and design the island I want.

We cleaned and prepped all evening - I put a cool design on Sierra's walls that I can't wait to see done! We're still debating how to do our room though :urgh: because moulding is a PITA to install. Might do it anyway though.

Anyway, going to bed finally and heading back over to the house first thing in the morning.

First of all, Breckan, I gotta apologize for teasing you about your legs hurting from painting. I'm SO SORE - and yes, my legs are the worst.

We painted 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and the kitchen between yesterday and today - and it was my dad and I that did most of it - Sierra and my MIL helped in our room and the kitchen. They all turned out GREAT!

I set her straight quick - no, we're not in our new house. She was PISSED! She said she was going to call our mortgage agent and see wtf is taking so long :D

Well first, sorry to hear you're sick! :(

BUT....GOOD! People who are PISSED tend to get results! hahaha....I can't believe she thought you guys were in. I'm glad she happened to call!

Hehe... I saw her yesterday afternoon when I went to drop off my signed CLUE report and she said "From what I found out, you're just waiting for the seller to sign".

Um. DUH!

I guess my lender and my Realtor are calling several times a day trying to get results. They're still waiting on the bill from the NOTARY! WTF Why do I have to wait for THEM to get the bill from the friggn NOTARY!!! :irked:

I can't believe you are STILL waiting. Do you know which bank owns the house?

Yes... and I've always hated that bank - guess I have a more valid reason now. :irked:

Can't anybody go down there and talk to somebody face-to-face? I'm getting frustrated for you, this whole process isn't as complicated as the people in the mortgage industry makes it!

The bank that owns it is in Southern California, as is the title company that the bank chose. So we're having to do everything remotely - per the seller's choice - which sucks!

Anyway.... we better get some sort of an update today. Today is business day 5 since we signed papers.

I just got off the phone with my Realtor - he said that it was supposed to go to the recorder this morning. But who knows if it actually happened. He said everything's signed and done except for the recording... SWEET!

We're waiting on the bank's escrow office (I guess they've been the main problem all along). They told my Realtor yesterday that they were turning in the papers to recording this morning. My cubbie used to be a recorder - she says if they turned it in this morning it should be done by now. This means that the bank has signed, all of the paperwork is done it's supposed to be up to the county now - that is ONLY IF the escrow company actually turned in the papers today like they said they would.

My Realtor will simply call me and let me know when it's ours - then he'll leave the keys in the lock box for us so that way we don't even have to set up a meeting.

*fingers crossed*

Well, Matt called on Friday and raised HELL with the mortgage company. The lady handling our mortgage (let's call her G) answers her phone when Matt called (first time we've had contact), and he said "Hi G, please give me the number for your supervisor". So he calls the super, and they're all out of the office. So, he insists on getting their super's supers and finally gets the super's super's supervisor and talks with her for about 30 minutes. He explains our situation and the excuses we've been given.

The lady says "Well, we're waiting on the money". WTF? What money?

She says the bank's money for the purchase of the house. Matt and I know that it's been funded since March FIRST! She said no, there's no money in here ($76k).

Come to find out (LONG story short), when the bank transfers the money to their company, one person gets the transfer. When that person gets the transfer, they're supposed to tell another person that the money is in so they can get escrow rolling along. That first person NEVER told anyone the money was in, so really (something we were never told, nor was our lender or realtor), the mortgage company believed the house wasn't funded - THAT's why we were on hold for so long.

So the lady swore to Matt that we'd have the keys today. *I've heard this song before*.

He's got her direct line. We'll be calling her around 9am *fingers crossed*.

On a lighter note, we moved in this weekend LOL!

WOW! First, Good for you guys though for finally getting some answers and through to somebody. Second - Yey for moving in!

Lastly, HOLY CR@P dude! How much more can go wrong?! I hope the super super super supervisor can get this straightened out for you and get her employee's act together!

Matt's my hero. I would have blown up on that woman but he remained extremely calm - I think that's why he was so effective lol.

And YEAH - let's not think about what else can go wrong. We're *so close*!!!!!! :)

I can't wait till I can be done with this thread - only because that would mean we're no longer in escrow.

Matt talked to the lady today and she said she personally saw to it the recording should be done today. She said within the next few hours our realtor should be calling us to let us know we're good to go.

I told Matt he needed to ask for their company to pay our first month's mortgage (already due, May 1) :irked: but he said he's just happy the lady worked with him so well. Whatever - if I were to call I don't think she'd be so nice lol.

Yay!!! I'm so glad that everything is finalized and you are officially homeowners! Congratulations!

On a side note, I'm meeting with an investment firm tomorrow to see if they might be interested in buying my house. Hopefully they would make me an offer that would get me out without having to dig deep into my pockets!

Hmmm never heard of it. If you happen to be there I'd appreciate if you can take a look for me :) Don't go out of your way though - I'm looking online and only finding a yard at a time, or like $12/yd and I don't wanna spend that much.

I'm hoping to spend less than $5 a yard and I need about 2 yards minimum.

Thank you!

So...tell us, how was it the first night in YOUR house?!

Wellll... it was mentally relaxing!!!!! Physically exhausting - because we still have SO much to do. After doing a few little things, I put together one of our 2 desks we bought from Ikea... Not a hard task, just a lot of sitting on the floor. Other than that, my leg hurt all night and every time I moved it'd wake me up. :irked:

But my mind feels a lot more fresh :) :) :) :)
