I went out on my lunchbreak to run a couple errands. As I was waiting to turn left into my office complex, a service van rear-ended me! I'm beginning to think it's something with this car. I've never had anyone hit me and it's happened twice with this one and it's only 2 years old! I think FH is pissed I didn't get insurance info. My car is fine (I think there was enough dirt on the bumper to protect it) and I felt fine so of course I didn't bother. I'm not going to tell FH that my back/neck is now a little sore - I'm sure I'm fine but I probably should have gotten his info...live and learn.

Always get the info. Even if you are not hurt or the car's dirt kept the damage to a minimum. That way if you need to file a claim you have the info.
It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I would have gotten info too, but live and learn.

Accidents are never fun; glad you are ok and it wasn't worse!

Hope your back/neck is ok!

Good to hear you are ok!

But, speaking from personal experience here...

FH and I got rear-ended a few years ago... didn't seem that bad or anything. But! Ignoring my protests, FH didn't get any insurance info from the guy. He said (and really, I couldn't see anything either) that it was ok because there was no damage, no scratch, no nothing.

Well.

A few months later when we had to get his car inspected, it turns out that when the other guy ran into the back of FH's car, it broke one of those big metal bumper mounts on the inside of the bumper. The bumper must have just flexed and then popped right back out into position, so we couldn't see anything was wrong just by looking at it from the outside. :bbeek:

The crappy part is, FH went to school/worked doing bodywork on wrecked cars... I thought maybe this should've crossed his mind?!?

Well, a few hundred bucks and a new bumper mount later, I guess you could say we learned our lesson! Hopefully this isn't the case for you though!
