I know there are a few of you here; did you cover your tattoos for the wedding? If not, show off some pics here!

Oh yeah; well, as most of you probably know, I have tattoos, but didn't have as many as I do now when we got married, so they didn't really show. Plus I didn't have a "real" wedding dress anyway ;)

But I love to see pictures of women rocking their tattoos in a wedding dress :D

I don't have any tattoos myself - I think the concept is awesome but in practice I've never found anything that I've been that thrilled about to have on my body... but it surprises me that people who do have them would cover them up for their wedding. The art is a part of your body after it's inked on, what is the difference between showing bare shoulders and arms and showing the tattoos? You're still showing off your body, it doesn't matter if your shoulder is a bit more unique. But that's just my take on it.

I have one across my hip and side, but my dress will be covering it for the wedding. I kind of like the fact that I can show it when I want and cover it when I want. Basically that only the people I want to know will know about it. Hehe.

I only have one - a date on my wrist - and, no, I won't do anything to cover it, but it's so small anyway that it wouldn't matter. :)
I'm going to tattoo my wedding date on the other wrist at some point after the deed is done.

All of mine will be covered by the dress!!! My dress design now includes little sleeves, slightly longer than capped sleeves, attached to the off-the-shoulder thing.

And of course a long skirt will cover my ankle tattoo, and the dress will cover the back tattoo . . .

But my rehearsal dress is light and airy and summery and hasn't got much in the way of sleeves, so my tats ought to be visible then. Certainly the one on my ankle will be visible.

I thought long and hard about allowing my tattoos to show at all. My parents are extremely conservative and my mother literally turns white any time she catches a glimpse of one of them. (For the record, they're nothing but flowers, a sword, and Celtic knotwork for the most part, although my ankle one is a dagger through a large rose, done in blackwork . . . ) So, being mindful of the fact that Mom also has a heart condition and that Dad is in his mid 70's, I try not to show my tattoos when I'm around them.

Not only do I not want to deal with the fighting that inevitably ensues, I also don't want to be responsible for the heart attack that might happen.

But my wedding day is just that -- MY wedding day. Fiance thinks my ink is cool. My friends love the designs I have. My ink is a part of me, andnobody else is going to give a darn that I have tattoos. So I decided to buy a dress where 3 of my 4 tattoos would be visible, at least partly, if people choose to look.

My parents can look elsewhere. If I am at their house, I cover up out of respect for their feelings on the matter. But at my rehearsal, they get to cope. It's one day out of the rest of our lives.

My wedding dress will naturally cover up my tats. Just because. But if there are any shots of my in my rehearsal dress that show my tats, I'll get them and post them here!

I didn't cover mine even though i want a cover-up Tattoo done.

I have Two close together on My arm. I might not like the one on the left (It's really bad close up) But it is part of Me (For now)

The one on My back was obviously covered by My Dress.

I don't have any tattoos to cover. But if I did have any, I'd probably cover them just for the fact that FH's parents hate tattoos. Then again, if I had a tattoo, I'd probably have it where no one could see it unless I wanted them to see it. I do hope to get one someday but FH isn't crazy about that idea. I can do what I want but it'd be more exciting if he thought it was a good idea.

Mine was mostly hidden beneath my dress, but I did get a picture of it.

I've picked out what I *think* I want to be my dress, but haven't done any trying on or made a final decision. Most likely, the dress will show my back. I have a backpiece (my whole back) of a dragon embracing a crystal ball and on my shoulders over the tips of the dragon's wings are the Chinese symbols for my son's name and my daughter's name, respectively.

FH designed the tattoo at my request, and his brother tattooed it for me. Despite my super conservative family, not only will I not be covering the tattoos - FBIL is going to touch them up for me before the wedding. (A weight loss roller coaster doesn't do tattoos any favors)

I wont be covering mine when I get married-- it's between my shoulder blades and about...I dunno, 6-7" at least? Stylized Pisces fish. :}
No pics yet because I haven't tried on dresses!

I wont be covering mine. I have a blue swallow on my right shoulder that is carrying a banner in its beak that says "fides fatum". It has a special meaning to me that is significant to our relationship. I wouldn't dream of covering it on our special day.

I looked up "fides fatum" and it seems to have multiple similar meanings; care to explain your take on it?

We both got one that had a "fides fatum" meaning, although the tattoos weren't identical :) lol
What meaning we took from it was "have faith in fate, everything happens for a reason".

This isn't my real wedding dress, but it's the only pic of me in a wedding dress with my tattoo showing. I think it looks awesome! I can't wait to see my tattoo with my real dress! http://i38.tinypic.com/20l2q8.jpg

I made the tattoo artist redraw it three times. I had him combine characteristics from four different butterflies. He did a great job!

I won't be covering any of mine. I have one on the back of my neck and one on my upper back. The other one is on my forearm. FH says they're a part of who I am and he's right.

I have a little tattoo on my left wrist that says "Dream". I got it when I turned 18... I think its sort of cheesy now, but A) its small and not very noticeable and B) it's a part of me. My FH is not a humongous fan of tattoos but he likes mine because, as Faerie above me said, its a part of who I am. I've had it since the day we met, it would be weird to cover it up. Besides, he's my "Dream" come true! :)

My tat will be covered with my dress (it's on my right side) but my sister's weren't! (She okayed me posting pics here!) She has a koi fish with a flower on the left upper arm and a bracelet on her right wrist. It's kinda hard to make out the bracelet...

Oh, and all the bridesmaids (me included!) are tatted, but only 2 of them had some that showed. My family is very open-minded...lol!

i'm a redneck from florida lol, so i have a confederate flag with the abbreviated version of my name in a banner across it. it's on my right shoulder blade....df absolutely hates it, he is from the "neutral" part of kentucky, also the part where families were breaking in half when sons went to war....but i'm not covering it up....everyone knows i have it, and even though his mom is a preacher, she's always been ok with it...she doesnt like tattoos herself, but considers it your own statement(despite marking your body lol)
