And I still have my maiden name.... I know there is a posting somewhere on here about how to change your name, but I can't seem to find it.... you guys can delete this after if someone could please just direct me to the posting with that info on it.... It's about time I officially become a Jones lol

As far as I am aware, it requires going to the social security office and DMV, then contacting everyone you have legal paperwork with (for instance, student loans, IRS, work, banks, library, etc) and then going to the post office and filling out a change in address form. If you have a passport, you need to get that changed too.
Take that with a grain of salt, as I'm not actually changing my name. It's just that my mother had to do all of this about ten years ago - she did every step but the SS office, and went 18 years with the State of New York thinking she was her married name and the federal government thinking she was her maiden name.

At least for me it was pretty easy. I took my marriage certificate to the social security office. I was able to pre-filled out the paper work which I found on the website. I got my social security card with 2 weeks. Then I went to the DMV. After that I call up all the banks and credit cards. Some took my word for it and just changed it over the phone, some I had to go in and show my id + marriage certificate. Good luck hope this helps!
