I came across these couple of old little poems I wrote about DH back before we got married.

They are not great, but I thought I would share ...

Love at first glance?

From the moment I first saw you I was drawn to you.
What was this power you had over me, I hadn't a clue.

Was it the moon and the stars in just the right place?
Just the thought of your kiss made my heart seem to race.

Maybe it was your eyes that somehow intoxicated me.
Or was it your smile, or something else I just couldn't see.

Could such a thing as this be possible, love at first glance?
I had all but given up on love, was this my second chance?

I felt a comfort in your voice, once finally we'd spoken.
Like you knew my pain and my heart had been broken.

We would talk for hours about our hopes and our dreams.
Were we meant to find each other, perhaps yes, so it seems.

You were different, not like the other men of my past.
We wanted the same thing, real love that would last.

I knew this was special from the moment we kissed.
Could it be that perhaps true love just might really exist?

- Written April 2000

My love

I often wish for some greater words than “I love you”
For these pale in comparison to my feelings so true.

You are a wondrous gift from God; I'll always treasure.
My love runs so deep I could not begin to measure.

You opened my eyes to what I’d been blind to see.
My heart thirsted for love, and you’ve quenched me.

I find a new reason to love you, each and every day.
Because of you, I know the true meaning of love today.

Thank you for loving me that special way you do.
I hope that you know my love to you is just as true.

-Written sometime in 2003

*Of course even though these are not great, they are still mine, so for anyone reading this (especially lurkers who may find this one day), please don't take use them without my consent :)

Thanks; glad you like them :)

I may try to write something again (though it has been a while), maybe for his birthday coming up, or for our anniversary coming in April :frogg:

Awww bless. How sweet. :)

I don't write as many as i used to. But i do have My moments. Some nights i knock out 5 or 6 then don't write any for months, sometimes years.

Thanks for sharing.

Brandi, is it ok that I use your poem "My Love" in RC's valentine. I can make cards I just can't write as well as you and that just nailed it.

See? Now that is what I like about creative people ... some do it with words ... some do it with pencils or paint and others do it with music!

That is very cool.

BTW - I can visualize your poems :)

Here as promised are the pictures of my Valentines Day card for RC. Thank you again Brandi for letting me use your card.

Here is the outside of the card. I have a thin stripe of glitter on the edge.

Her is Brandi’s (Weblady’s) poem I printed it our on the computer and cropped it.

Then I cut out this sentiment using the cricut and added a ¼-inch strip of glitter.

Tried to get a close up of the glitter, I used sticky tape and then pressed it in to make sure it sticks. That way you don’t have the mess of the glue just the glitter.
