Who's got 'em and who wants to share a photo of them? Lol. Jenn and I were discussing all of this the other day and I said we should start a thread and share again. I remember Brandi started one a while back! So here's another.

Of course I'll go first. I have to say, my tattoo sucks!! lol It's in definate need of a touch up!! Lol. My ex B/F paid for it for our one year anniversary then we broke up five months later. I hate my tattoo because it reminds me of him. I would like to go and have it touched up and added to so that it can be MY tattoo! lol

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j241/countryheart_2005/948dbf47.jpg

And I thought I'd share my hubby's tattoo as well! It is like the coolest tattoo I've ever seen! lol. Ok well for the size and idea it's the coolest! lol

Well I have a Horseshoe wrapped in barbed wire in my bikini area (so we will NOT be posting a pic of that) and Eric has no tat's or piercings.

I got the tatt the day my divorce was final (completely coincidental) my ex always "told" me what to do/not to do and it was my first rebellious sign that I was MY BOSS NOW BABY!

Eric was on the phone with me while I was getting it! We met 15 days before the divorce was final and had our first REAL DATE 4 days later!

No tattoos her...but it's interesting to see what the rest of you have. Shawna...is it okay for you to get a touch-up or new tattoo when you are trying to concieve? I've never really thought about it, but they tell you all these things that you should and shouldn't do when tying to concieve and I'm just wondering?

No I shouldn't. And that is why I haven't gotten the touch up yet! lol. D'oh! I really need it, that's why it still looks like poop! lol. I'm waiting until after our first at least, maybe all of them depending on how things go with getting pregnant with the first. We have also both decided to have our children's names tattooed on our bodies, we are hoping for two girls and two boys to be honest. We have girls names picked out (three actually) and no boys names to go on!! lol. We look forward to getting a tattoo to also commemorate our wedding date.

I have 7 tattoos and I want many more :bbmrgreen:

- Here is my latest one ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/new_tat.jpg

The scene within the cross is suppose to be sort of a surreal interpretation on the old 'Footprints' poem

- My largest one ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20tatt.jpg
No real meaning behind this one, it was a cover up. It is just a cool sort of 'old school' design

- This one is on my lower back ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20mods%20005.jpg

I took the picture myself *hehe* I found the design on a tiney sticker in Florida on vacation several yrs ago. Now I see it all over, so I want to add to it one day.

- more on the next post ...

Ok this is my little scorpion, I think this was actually my second tattoo ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20mods%20004.jpg

- This one is on the inside of my right ankle ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20mods%20003.jpg

Sorry for the bad picture ... it is a rose vine yin-yang. I got this right after my divorce from my first husband.

- My very first tattoo, it is on my left ankle, well a little above the ankle ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20mods%20001.jpg

I just pulled the design off the wall because I wanted a butterfly. I may add something to it one day too.

- This is on the inside of my left ankle ...

http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/my%20mods%20002.jpg

I got it for my Daddy when he was sick in the hospital a few years ago. My sister has the same one. Lots of people think it is a sexual thing, but it is SO not.

So I think that is all 7 :-)

Hee hee! Nice Cindy! We really are corupting you. But thank you so much for sharing them! :)

Brandi, thank you for sharing your tattoos as well. I want many more but don't know where I will put them. I'm just a back tattoo kind of person! lol

Here are the inspiration for my next piece. I want the hibiscus (the red one) in the middle with the little white flowers around it some how. I just have to find someone who I trust and who can draw a decent hibiscus flower...a lot of hibiscus tattoos I see don't look very good to me! :)

Sounds like a good idea with the hibiscus flower Shawna ;)

I meant to say that I liked your hubby's tattoo also. I think arm tattoos on guys are hot ... I wish my hubby would get some tattoos, but he is a big baby (even more than me) when it comes to needles ;)

I am going to get 3/4 sleeves one day. My left arm will have scenes of the 4 seasons (you know, Winter, Summer, etc ...) and my right arm will have symbols and/or some scene reflecting my faith.

I also want to add to some of the ones I have. I may end up with calf sleeves too ;) They are definitely addicting, I'm wish I hat the money for more mow. Oh well, I guess it will have to be a work in progress. But I won't put anything on my chest or my legs above the knee.

I don't have a tattoo but I've wanted to get one for the longest time. I just don't know what I want to have on my body for the rest of my life. I think right after I find the perfect thing for me, I'll get one. My sister has 3 right now...a clump of 3 chili peppers on her right thigh, a lizard crawling up her lower spine and then 2 lizards making a circle (like the Sobe label...she took that in for inspiration) in between her shoulder blades.

Yup. Pat and I both have tattoos..and I am more then willing to share mine...and his:

My upper back took 3.5 hours and $350.00

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d199/072106/backtat1.jpg

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d199/072106/backtat2.jpg

The one on my chest is a mother butterfly and a baby butterfly in flight, with my son's name in Chinese (Michael) written. About 45 minutes freehand for $180.00:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d199/072106/Tatfrontrevised.jpg

Pat's that he had before he met me. It means Strength, Younger Brother, Friend. He got it the day he turned 18 to remember his younger brother that died in 1999:

The other one that Pat got before he met me. He loves wolves..they are his favorite animal..and PED is his initials:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d199/072106/pattat2.jpg

The only one he has gotten since being with me (so far!). I'm not wild about it, but it means something to him. Those that listen to country will know what it is about:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d199/072106/dirty.jpg

Pat currently has his nipples pierced as well! He use to have something else pierced too, but it got caught on something and he had to take it out...He wants to get it done again, but...doesn't think he can go without.... Not that anyone wanted to know that. I have had my share of piercings too. I have my ears done, I have had my belly button, eyebrow and both nipples done (TMI, I know) and my cartilidge (sp? - upper ear). We plan to get another tattoo that only means something to us after we are married.

Brandi, I want to get upper arm sleeves as well but Matt is fond of them. I can understand it to some degree, I'm not sure I really want to put my kids through too much with me having these sleeves. Tattooing may become less popular some day and my biggest fear is arm flab and when I'm old having to wear long sleeve shirts because they look gross...but that's just me. If I wasn't with Matt I'd have gotten a sleeve by now! lol Thanks for the compliment on Matt's tattoo. He really wanted to get one but was being a big baby so I talked him into it. Now he wants ink like you can't imagine. I just laugh. I don't think his parents were impressed when they saw he had a tatt, they're against that kind of thing. lol. oh well they don't think any less of either of us though!

Lizabeth,

Thanks for sharing yours and your FH's tattoos. Its so cool to see what others out there have. We also plan on getting a tattoo to commemorate our wedding date. Between Matt and I we need to come up with a wicked a$$ design. I thought of getting a copy of Matt's tatt on my back but haven't given it much more thought. I think it would be cool to put just the skull on my lower back! I'm really giving it some thought that's for sure!!

J and I both want anoter tat, but I am not sure if I really want another one, or just change the one I have. I had my BB pierced at one time, but had to remove it about a year later because I never healed correctly. I would love to pierce it again, but I think I have to tone my tummy first.

I don't have any pics of mine, but I have 3. I have a heart with tribal stuff on my lower back, a cartoon bug on my upper left thigh, and a sun, moon, and star thing on my leg. I would never get another tattoo. Actually after I graduate and get a "real" job I am getting the one on my leg removed. I've already spoken with a doctor on one occasion about it. The other two are fine because they are concelled unless I'm in a bathing suit or the one on my back shows if I'm wearing jeans that are low rise.

Truthfully tats aren't my style anymore. I got them all when I was 18. I was going through a wild streak about that time and I grew out of it. I also at the time had my tongue pierced, belly button, and 3 holes in the bottom of my ears. Then I had my cartilage pierced on one ear and also I had an earring in the piece of cartliage right by the hole of the ear. It's got a name, but I don't know what it is.

I kept the belly ring for a little while and the tongue piercing for about a year. I kept my ear piercings until about a year ago. Now I just wear one earring in each ear and soon I'll have that tattoo on my leg removed.

They do it with a laser. It takes several sessions and you have to wait until the area heals between sessions. Depending on the size of the tattoo and the depthness of the ink it can take many sessions. Also some colors are easier to remove than others. From what I've seen and heard it does scar some. They say if you look close to the area you can kinda see the outline of it. However, if you get a tan or you are wearing a business suit with hose you wouldn't be able to tell.

I have my ears pierced in two places. No tattoos.

Amber Dawn has her tongue pierced, her BB pierced, and her ears pierced twice. She also has a LEO sign tattoo in the middle of her lower back. She says that she will not get anymore tats done.

Jason has an Indian arm band tattoo, that looks like a leather band around his arm with a feather going down his arm. He has not ruled out the possibility of getting another tattoo. I will take a picture of their tats the next time I am with them.

Are you getting all three removed, or just the one?? And can I ask, is it for religious reasons?? I knew a girl who was 'wild' in her younger years. She then started going to church, and decided that her body was a temple (as the bible states) and that she didn't want tatoos.

I got the new People magazine and Angelina is in there. You can still see the outline of her Billy Bob tattoo, but it is definitely fading. It must take a long time to get it completely removed, because she has been at it for a while now. Good luck with yours, Kacie!!!

Heather, I am just getting the one on my leg removed. Maybe later I'll worry about the other 2, but they are concelled. It is not really for religous reasons. I think God loves me wether I have tattoos or not and I don't know why he would think a hole through your ear is okay, but a tattoo isen't.

I want it removed because it is not me anymore. I am much more conservative now with the way I dress and act. I am going to be an elementary school teacher and I want to be able to wear a skirt and not have to worry about covering up my tattoo.

I wasn't being me back then either. I just grew up in a very strict household and then I went to college and got crazy for a little while until I learned what was best for me. I don't have a problem with anyone with tattoos or people that are still getting them. I think you just have to do what feels right for you.

countrygirl
06-16-2006, 10:54 AM
I hear ya!! I got mine at 19, after I moved out of my mother's house. She was pretty strict, so even though it is a concealed tat, it was still my little rebelion for myself.

And I agree. God loves me w or w/out that tat.

I belong to a Church of Christ church and I have one, the lady that sits in front of me has one on her ankle (she just turned 50, its a "red hat society" hat)...COC's are one of the most conservative churches and having tats removed have never been a topic at our church...they speak out about alot of topics but never that...

1Corinthians 6:19, Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20, For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

Defiling the temple is talking about excessive use of drugs and alcohol to the point of abuse, or neglecting your body...tattoos are for most a form of self expression and a beautification...mine is. Most of the tattoos I see are crosses and memory ones (in memory of a parent, child etc) the others are a significant expression in some form to a personal event or landmark in someones life. That too me is GLORIFICATION which verse 20 speaks of ...I would LOVE for someone to try and convince me that my tattoo is unholy or defiling my temple.

Are you taking about the Tregus? If you are I also have that done.

When I was younger I had a really rough go with life and decided the only way to make myself happier was to turn into a freak! lol. I pierced my tongue, the cartlidge in my upper ear, my earlobes about four times each side, my tregus, my belly button, and my left nipple. I got a tattoo and was ready to get more. Then I moved! lol. And people gave me funny looks because I was now living in a small town. I cleaned up my ways, took out the nipple, belly button, and tongue. (I broke a tooth and it has cost close to $5000 to fix the whole it left behind!!) I will still get tattoos but I think my piercing days are over. Plus I've heard that having your Belly button pierced is bad for fertility, natural medical practioners believe this, as it runs through a special spot or something. If you see an acupuncturist they will actually tell you this most times. I've had that out for five years now. I would love to get my lip pierced because I have no feeling in it from my surgery for my tooth. I'm that strange country type who likes to accesorize I guess! lol. My cousin's wife is just like me and she and I are both huge Hicks! lol

I dont' have any tattoos but I want to get one on my lower back and I'm getting one on my foot this summer.

I also have my tragus pierced. I've had it pierced for over 3 years now and I would NEVER take it out. I also have my conch/shell pierced (which hurt like HELL) and I get people asking about it all the time. It took almost a year to heal. I'm going to get the industrial and the daith done but in my other ear.

I don't have anything else pierced... I just like my ear piercings!

Actually, no I must take that back and say the nipple hurt the worst, my piercer almost ended up on his butt when he put the needle through, he was so close to getting hit. I agree! I Love God and I have tattoos and want many more ;) Without getting into a bit religious debate over this, I think it is about the condition of your heart rather that what you look like ;)

Granted, I wouldn't get the same kind of tattoos that I might have gotten years ago before I considered myself a Christian. The tattoo on my back was done to cover up a design I got back when I was a 'bad girl'

And YES the shoulder blades hurt REALLY bad! The big one on my back there took over 5 hours!

Maybe I should get one there too! =) I want to eventually get a tattoo across my lower back. My sister is thin like a toothpick and she has a tattoo down there and she said it didn't hurt. Hopefully it won't be painful.

Just a side note... to anyone who thinks they can hide something from their parents, my mom took my sister when she was 16 (God only knows why) and let her get a tattoo on her back. She spent 2 years trying to keep it hidden from my Dad.. wore long shirts, high pants, etc. One day she went to bend over and she held her shirt down in the bank and my Dad said... "I don't know why you keep doing that.. I saw that tattoo back when you were 16 but I was just waiting until you said something.." I thought it was hilarious!

Oh I know Ally, I hid my tattoo from my parents for the longest time. Then one day dad asked me why I was hiding my tattoo. I tried to tell him it was just permanent marker but he woudln't believe me. He told me if I ever got a tattoo or piercing while living in his home he'd boot me out the minute he saw it. See when I got my tragus pierced I didn't think it hurt really at all. It felt more like pressure, not pain. But I think I'm pretty good with pain. I don't recall my tattoos really hurting very bad or any of my piercings hurting. I thought the tongue wasn't bad. The worst part about piercings is the healing. That is what hurts. Tattoos aren't bad healing. It's just a little tender.

Since we're on piercings now; I have 8 of those ;) 3 in each ear (2 of which are stretched to 8 gage) my nose (right nostril - 18g) and my tongue (8g) I don't think I'll get anymore. I wanted to stretch my earlobes again but DH said he liked it the way it was.

A friend of mine got her tragus pierced and she said it hurt a bit a first but the healing was worse. Hers got infected too and she had to take one out :bbeek:

I guess everyone's pain tolerance is different. I thought the worst piercing I had was my belly button. It didn't hurt to bad when they did it, none of them did to me. However, the healing part of it was the worst. In fact, I might have kept it if it was not for that. I had mine for about 6 months until I couldn't stand it anymore. It kept getting infected and it hurt. It would get hung on my clothes. I was still running barrels at the time too so that didn't help. When something would hit it, pain would run all up my stomach and chest. My ears and my tongue all healed without major problems. That one was bad though. But as of now the only piercings I have are the ears.

Yeah see I had no problem with my tongue or belly button and I almost fell asleep getting my tattoo, but my tragus was the worst! It's so funny how some people find one thing so painful and the next person doesn't even flinch! :)

I just want to say that I am not a huge tattoo fan. They were just never me. But I really am glad that you all shared yours and some of the stories behind. I kind of alway viewed them as something you got drunk and did then lived to regret 10 years later. But I am glad to see that some of you really put a lot of thought and sentiment into the act of having it done.

As for piercings, I didn't get my ears pierced until I was in college. When I was little I got terrible ear infections all the time so my doctor advised my mom against letting me get them pierced. As I grew older it was just something I was accustomed to not having so I never worried about it. I actually got them done when several friends went to get piercings and tattoos one night. I figured before getting tattoo or a major body piercing I should start with something smaller and little less controversial. So, I opted just for my ears.

As far as pain, my piercings were not bad at all, just a little pinch and/or pressure. But when I stretched my earlobes, that kinda sucked a bit :bbeek:

While getting tattoos is definitely not a pleasant experience IMO, most of my tattoos weren't too bad. Believe it or not, the scorpion on the back of my neck was the least painful. It only took about 30 mins. My brother has a tattoo on the side of his neck and he said that one hurt really bad. The big one on my back was the worst for me, I guess it has alot to do with the size of it and that it took over 5 hours. The cross on my calf was the 2nd most painful, it took 3 hours.

But I am not scared, I will still get more ;)

Brandi, do you have a picture of your stretched earlobes? I've seen it in books, but never in person. I did a research project in a communication class about body modification and actually found it very interesting.

Lacey, I'm not especially fond of tattoos anymore myself. Nor am I fond of body piercings anymore either. On other people they are okay, but not for me. I didn't get drunk and get it done. I was just 18 and crazy. I didn't put much thought into it at all. That is why I am getting the one on my leg removed.

Justin does not have any piercings or any tattoos. Most of my friends have belly button rings and a tattoo or two. Some do not though. Everyone I know (who is female) has her ears pierced.

YAY! Another body mod thread. This is my tattoo. It's on my right shoulder. I got it just after I turned 18. My absolute best friend in the world and I both went and got one together. I love it! The rose in the tattoo is my favorite flower and it's what I themed my wedding off of. The letters mean "strong woman":

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d123/usahgrad/tattoo.jpg

I have plans for two other tattoos; a small kokopelli on my hip and a daisy on my upper inner thigh. However, money and my one year rule have kept me from getting them to this point.

Jason has three tattoos. I don't have any pictures of them and I'd go get some, but he's sleeping right now because he's not feeling very well. He has a dagger in between his shoulder blades that has a skull for the ball in the hilt, a skull from one of those mystic games that was either an RPG or the card thing on his left arm (that one, I think, is his favorite), and he has one of a confederate and union soldier skeleton on his right arm. We talked about him getting a skull with a rose, but I don't want to push him into anything because that stuff is permanent (well almost permanent) and while I know we're going to be permanent too, there's always that chance.... By the way, he likes skulls in case you couldn't tell.

As far as piercings go, I have my tongue and two in each ear pierced. I had my cartiledge pierced once, but had to remove it because it got infected and I've attempted a third hole about twenty times but it keeps closing for one reason or another. Jason has both his nipples pierced---yum!

Now, the real body mod wonder in my family is my sister. She has more piercings and tattoos than I can count. Here's a picture to give you an idea:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d123/usahgrad/Wedding%20Pics/831%20Pictures/CRW_8880.jpg

In her defense, she works as a piercer and someday wants to get into doing tattoos, so it's kind of normal for the crowd she hangs around with. Anyways, this picture doesn't show you much of them, but she has her eyebrow, her bridge, a little stud in her nose, a ring in the middle of her nose (which she flipped up into her nose for the wedding--Thank God! That's the one that gets me), three in her lip, one above her lip, and her belly button (which you can't see obviously).

Now, for tattoos, she has the dragon on her arm, which you can see in the picture. She has Hermes wings on her her ankles, Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) on the back of her calf, some weird little gothic looking cartoon character on her lower back, Pochacco and some shamrocks on her foot up to her ankle, and a celtic cross with our father's initials (KDL) at the nape of her neck. She also had a rose with her ex-boyfriends name over it on her chest, but I believe that's been covered up and I haven't seen the new one. I think she's also either in the process of getting, has gotten, or will be getting the Whitefish Point lighthouse on her forearm (the one without the dragon on it). That's where we spread my father's ashes. I may be missing a few, but that's my sister. So a few of her tattoos have meanings, a few of them don't.

i only have my ears pierced twice and did have my belly button done twice. but like you said, the healing was the worst part. it never did heal up. it kept getting infected and never would heal as long as i had the ring in it. the first time i had it pierced was by one of the nurses at the hospital i worked in at the time. she however done it crooked and so i let it grow over. the second time one of the doctors there done it for me. however it wouldn't heal either. so now i have what resembles a small snake bite in my belly button.

while working at the nursing home i seen numerous elderly people with tattoos. they all confirmed to me that it was not something they would do again. for they do look (at least the ones i have seen) terrible once we get older. saggy and baggy, stretched out ones. i always said if i did get one it would be of a four leaf clover on my breast. but after seeing those i decided when i got older it would just resemble a small tree on my boobie. :p what with gravity and age.

Mine are only 8 gage which isn't really all that bad, to me at least. Some people don't notice unless I show them.

But here is a pic, this was back when I went from 10g to the 8g so my ear is still a little swollen here ...

Wow that pic of the really big gaged ear stretching is disgusting...just too freaky for me!!! But whatever sinks your ship..lol!!! Yours do not look bad at all Brandi...they really aren't that noticable!!! I am kinda prudish I guess. I had toyed with teh idea of a tattoo about 4 years ago and almost got one on my right shoulder blade...but I am happy that I didn't...because it really just isn't me. If I ever got one it would be very small and on my ankle or something!!! I am content with my ear piercings that I rarley put earrings in...and my belly button, which was a gift for Joel..and will probably be taken out in the near future. It tends to heal and then get infected and irritated, the heal and follow that same process over and over again!!!

I have oen tattoo. I wanted to get a small one before I got the big one I realy want. I have about 8 flowers all differtn sizes on the back of my right shoulder. It curves around so it is on the corner of my shouolder. I dont have all the pictures back on my pc yet but once I do I will post a picture. The big one I want is a unicorn with wings on my lower back. I want the mane of the unicorn to be a light purple color and the horn to be silver or gold and I want ribbon hanging from it's tail to be rainbow colored. I know this will hurt and take a long time and alot of money. And once I find some one who can draw what I want then atleast I will have the drawing for then I have the bucks to do it. I did see a patch down at bike week I would love to get as a tattoo. It is a purple or pink butterfly that has some design on either side of it ( again I will post the picture wehn I can ). Nichoal and I have talked about getting a tattoo togehter. He doesnt have any yet. Because of how we met on line and our computer names we had he actualy found a picture of a spiral rainbow. We want to get this. Not sure where or how big but we both want this on us. It means so much to have something special like that that no on else would have that means what it means to us. And it is not just inationals or anything. It is something so different. So one day I will get my tattoos and I can't wait. most likley not he unicorn with wings as that will cost alot.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the BIG stretched out ear lobes, I just think of those people when they're like eighty and their ear lobes dangle around their shoulders. That's just gross. However, I'd stretch my earings to what Brandi has, that I don't mind. And when I do see people with their ears stretched like that, I think of those african tribes who stretch their ears and even their lips and I giggle. There in Africa I believe it's a sign of beauty and everyone does it there, here it's just not main stream and people don't really know why others get it done. However, if you like stretched ear lobes and that's your thing, go for it! It's you head not mine.lol.

Gwen,

Your tattoos sound nice. (the ones you want to get too!) I'm not a big person on flash either (the pictures they have in the shop that you can pick through) and that's why I am waiting for an artist who can draw what I want and design it to fit me! My husband's tattoo was designed just for him, he loves it! :) (MIne was off my favorite t-shirt...I was young and stupid)

I am glad you all approve of my gage piercings ;) I was going to go one gage up but DH said he didn't want me to so I will stay with what I have.

Yeah I don't like the really big ones :bbeek:

I am also not a fan of the 'Flash' tattoo designs. The butterfly on my ankle (my very 1st tattoo) was flash. The butterfly on my lower back was a sticker design. I want to add to them now. The rest are custom designs ... from now on I will only get custom design tattoos. I love the guy that does mine (he has done all but two of my tattoos) he is an awesome artist and an awesome guy.

This type of piercing is easily rejected! So even if you pay $200 or what ever it costs, there is no guarantee it'll stick. I read that about 90% of those piercings fail and that they are almost ALWAYS done with the wrong kind of jewelry. I cannot imagine laying face down on a table and a piercer saying "ok now I'm going to shove this needle THROUGH your back!"

I also read that alot of people do it for Hallowe'en or other dress up occasions. I think I'll pass!!

My question is this, Whose bright idea was it to peirce the area around their spine? You know the spine, the area where your entire nervous system runs? I understand that the needles aren't long enough to actually puncture the spine but you know there is going to be that one in a million freak accident. It is one thing to have that freak accident with yuor ear but if you have it with your spine, there really isn't a recovery for that. You want to get a tattoo, fine. Just follow the rules I set for my studnets when they tell me they are getting a tattoo for their 18th birthday. I tell them that is great, take the tattoo money they have and put it in the bank and forget about it until they are 21. If they still are the same person they are at 21 that they were when they are 18, with my good graces, go get that tattoo. If not, you have a little cushion of money for a kick *** spring break your senior year in college.

Piercings are fine because they can be removed and will eventually grow over. But the erst of it is just a bit extreme. None of us are the same person we were at 18 so what makes up think that we will be the same person today when we are 50?

By the way when I got my ears pierced it was the most painful thing ever. The woman who did it got the gun stuck half way through the one ear. She had to take it out which hurt and bled like hell and do it again. Hence, getting earrings in my left ear requires a lot of patience, pain tolerance, and the need for a map to navigate that little hole.

I was a wild child when I was younger!

In all I had 52 piercing; 3 in the Lip, 1 on the cheek, 20 in each ear, nose, neck, belly(3 at one time), hand, and tongue, and both tits. I think that’s all of them. LOL

As for tats I have one that covers my back, and I got one on my arm. I still like my tats, and have taken out all the piercing long ago. (Got to grow up at some point and look to leading a business style of life(see attached photo))

Why so many? I was a professional body piercer from 17-20, and my family was fine with piercing.

I think piercing are fine for anyone to get, you can also take them out later on in life and after a couple years most never notice. Tats on the other hand are something that one must really think about, otherwise you will find yourself trying to answer peoples questions about what stuff stands for when it really does not mean anything to you any more compared to what you had in mind when you got it.

The tats on my arms and fingers anyone can see, and they always ask “What’s that stand for”, “Nothing anymore, and I really don’t know what they where about back then either, LOL”. I’m sure I have missed some good job opportunities because of it.

Most people jaws drop when they hear how many I had, then ask me where are all the holes. Just got to look closer and you can see them, my ears are riddles with them!

One question... Why in the h3ll would you do that?
People that really get into piercings have a love for the feel of the needle, it’s a nice drug. LOL makes them feel complete and sexy.

I have had people ask me to pierce all types of stuff, I even had a guy have me run a hoop through (around) his collar bone, and that was a bit much for me IMO, but whatever floats your boat!

Ill see if I can ask my mom for some pics of me when I had everything in.

OMG L3VI, our mild mannered mysterious one was a FREAK! You rock, I'm digging the pic...hmmmm wonder what you would look like all cowboy'd up?:bbmrgreen:

I would never have guessed that in a million years about L3vi!! I agree about the teenager getting a tattoo. Since it is permanent, they should think about it for a few years and then decide. Teen years are made for rebellion, but that grows old really fast. As you get older, you realize that you have to set an example for your own children. Thanks for sharing, Levi!!

Lol...the only example I want to for sure set for my kids in the tattoo department is to not get tattoos on your hands, neck, breats, face or anyother non-coverable place. I tell Matt my back is my canvas and I'm going to cover it! I don't care if I'm old and gray and have a saggy tattoo! I'll deal with it then but I'll enjoy it now!! :D

Wow, l3vi with 52 piercings :bbeek: I'd never have guessed ... you 'clean up' pretty good ;)

People use to say that I didn't look like I'd have tattoos and such. I always kept the tattoos covered and took out my piercings when I was working ;) But these days I am a little 'wilder' now that I can be. My sister says I'm too old to be the way I am ... well all I say to her is it is my life and she doens't have to like it. She has tattoos/piercings also, though not as many as me and covers them. She has a 'professional' job, but I make more money than she does.

I love all my mods ... all my tattoos mean something to me, whether it is something specific or just a defining moment in my life, they all have meaning and I won't have any problems telling 'the story' when ppl ask.

I'm not having kids and I work for my self in a field that I don't have to be in front of the client, and plan to keep in that way. So I don't have that to worry about.

Yes, sometimes ppl look at me funny when they see my tattoos, but I really don't care ... they are a part of me now and I like them. I plan to get many more ... I will be a cool old lady :bblol:

I also have to agree with what Levi said. the needle can be like a drug. I know my brother and myself are both addicted to it, though him more so then I! I think he has probably 15-20 tattoos on his body! Some of them are so retarded! lol. He has this one on his neck we call a dragon taking a cr@p because none of the rest of us know what the hell it is!! lol. And I'm not sure he's told us what it's supposed to be...lol. Oh well his tattoos are mostly stupid anyhow!! lol. I believe he as a few cool ones but it's been six months since I last saw my brother and he's probably gotten ten since then!! lol. He even got one while he was overseas working in Scotland. It's latin and says "For my family, i would give everything!" Or something like that. It's kinda ironic because the month he got that tattoo his wife back home was having a hard time making ends meet...so how did you give everything or ANYTHING when you spent money on a tattoo while your family was suffering at home is BEYOND me, but I've mentioned my brother is kind of immature and IMO stupid! Hopefully one day he'll grow up and realize he has to put money in the bank account before he puts ink on his body!!

The reason I don't have a tattoo: I joined the Army in 1976 when I was 20 years old. I took my basic training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama and my MOS training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. I was a dental specialist in the Army. Anyway, when I was in Texas, we decided to go and get a tattoo. We were given a book of pictures to look at, and I swear to God they were the most disgusting and obscene pictures I have ever seen. Why, in God's name, they would give that book to people is beyond me. Weren't they trying to get people to get tattoos?!?! Those pictures made you want to run out of there as fast as you could! That is the ONLY reason I don't have a tattoo today. Amber & I have discussed getting mother & daughter tattoos, you know something matching. But that has never happened and I don't know if it ever will. I am not completely opposed to that idea.

My hubby started talking about tats after we did this and now he's saying it would be cool if he made the dragon wrap around him! I told him it looks good
as it is and if he does that it would be a little much!:bbmrgreen: I always thought it would be cool if we both got small tats that somehow symbolize one another!

P.S. Cool pic of u in your teens L3vi, can't wait to see the freaky ones! :)

I like it too, and I don't like the huge ones either! It's not that I don't think it's a cool tat, cuz I do. I love dragons, especially because of my grandson who adores them.

I just have pierced ears, nothing too radical.

I've never been into tattoos...Jewish thought says that you borrow your body from God, so you try not to make to many permanent changes to it. Piercings heal, but a tattoo is considered a bigger deal.

Granted, it's mostly just my personal preference...never seen anything that I'd want on my body forever. The pictures of tattoos here are really neat...I always think it's interesting to see what people get and why :)

Yes, I agree, Jessica. I don't have any tattoos myself, but I love to hear the personal stories behind the tattoos. :)

I have a purple rose on my right shoulder. I have two more that I want to get, and one I will get before the wedding. One is a Native American prayer that I plan on using at the wedding and I haven't figured out how to get it onto a tatoo yet, I thought about an arm band, have it wrap my arm and have a native american design with it.

My fh has three tats. A griffin and an arm band on one arm, and a fish on his leg. The griffin one is really really cool. He designed his own. He's designing my next one once I figure out for sure how i want it to look.

I have a crescent moon on my right shoulder.

And I got this one a year ago in Wisconsin. It's on the very lower part of my back.

I am planning on getting another one on our honeymoon in Niagara/Toronto. I designed it already.

I am getting the tattoo in my bikini area "updated"...I currently have a fuschia and black and purple horsehoe wrapped in barbed wire...one of my BM's and I are going to plan a little excursion in the fall to have some more ink applied to our bodies!

I am going to get 7.29.06 under it (my wedding date) and possibly "Cowgirl Up" above it....it's a motivational thing for us cowpeople! LOL!

I've wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember, but just can't seem to find something that's perfect for me. A friend of mine has a little pink crown about the size of a quarter on the back of neck that I just adore, but I wear my hair up too much so it wouldn't be easy to hide. My sister has talked about us getting matching four leaf clovers, as an ode to our Irish heritage, but I'm not so sure. She has a tattoo of a circus peanut on her foot, so I can't take what she says too seriously :bblol: :bblol:

It took me years to decide on my horse shoe...the day my lawyer called and told me the divorce was final was the same day I had scheduled the tattoo...kinda fitting actually although just a coincidence....my ex never wanted me to have one....Eric was on the phone with me while I was getting it!
