At first I wanted the flower girls with a butt load of petals to drop as they made their way down the aisle. But now I am leaning towards the silk flower pomanders for them. But the only thing is that they wouldn't have a 'role' in the wedding besides walking down the aisle and standing, instead of walking, spreading petals, and then standing. Have you guys crossed this problem? What did you do? I am stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place.

HELP!!!

I guess it depends on why you want to switch? Is it due to finances or did you just change your mind? I personally think it would be adorable having flower girls drop petals & I bet they would feel sooo important. If you like the pomanders better than they would also work juuust fine. Do whatever you want :)

I think it may depend on your flower girls. They may be just fine with walking down the aisle with the pomanders and looking cute!

To be honest, I haven't even gotten that far in thinking about it, although I'm thinking of having my flower girl carry a basket of flowers.

I had thought about having a pomanders covered in flower petals. So that the FG could do kind of a "love me, love me not" thing. But FH said what happens when she reaches the front holding an empty ball?!? So I guess it's a basket of flowers after all.

I don't see that she actually has to have a job. per say. If you think about it, the only people who have jobs during the ceremony is the maid ofhonor and best man. The bridesmaids just walk the aisle and go and stand too.

I was a flower girl a couple times when I was a kid - neither time did I actually drop petals - just walked down the aisle with a bouquet. :)

I got a flower ball for our flower girl/jr. bridesmaid because I thought at ten she was too old to drop petals and be an actual flower girl.

No matter what you have the girls do, they'll be thrilled most likely :)

I agree! It's going to depend on what you want. If the FGs are DETERMINED to drop flowers, I would probably let them :) I don't want unhappy FGs standing up there, within reason.

I did this too (with small bouquets, actually), but they enlisted the wedding planner to commandeer a bread basket for them, filling it with some of the petals we were using as decor! So mine had both. :)

I wonder how hard that would be to do...and if it is worth the trouble
