Hey everyone! I just joined the site because I realized that my wedding is 2 and a half months away! (April 18th) I am starting to get a little worried about some of the choices I have made, the biggest one being ordering my flowers online in bulk and doing it myself. I see I have come to the right place to ask you ladies about your stories and/or success with putting together the bouquets yourself. I am ordering from Grower's Box (?) and I am going with the calla lilies. I plan on getting some white roses and possibly some baby's breath to make the bouquets. Also, I have 7 girls in my bridal party and I know that I will not be able to make all of their bouquets with the calla lilies as I plan on using them for the center pieces, too. Sorry I am all over the place, but any insight, advice, stories anything will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Thank you! Do you know of any websites or anything that give you advice and tips on how to do this? I am just worried I am not going to have enough flowers in the package that I am purchasing...

Also... I know this seems like a silly question being so close to my wedding... but, do you make a separate bouquet to throw or do you throw the one that you hold during the ceremony?

That is really up to you. If you want to keep yours then make up a little throw away, if you don't plan to keep yours or give it to anyone special, then toss that one :)

Not sure if you're still looking for ideas, but I've got a few tutorials that might give you an ideas. None that are specifically Callas, though. I should make one. <;D Callas are really cool to work with, though...especially for centerpieces. :)

Try http://www.bridecraft.com/bouquets.html and see if any of these give you ideas. Scroll past the article for the tutorial links. Post pictures after your wedding! I love to see DIY wedding projects...^_^

Welcome! Good luck with the bouquets & centerpieces! I would probably do a practice run so you know what you are doing when the time comes. Maybe get enough flowers for one bouquet and one centerpiece from a florist and do a trial run. I have no idea how to arrange flowers so I am happy that I have someone who used to be a florist helping me with my flower arrangements. I went with silk flowers so that they could all be done ahead of time.

I've always heard that you throw a different bouquet than the one you hold in your ceremony. If you are planning on using silk flowers for the wedding party, the tossing bouquet should still be real.
but again, after all it is YOUR wedding and if you prefer to throw the same bouquet you hold, I think that's perfectly fine!!

good luck!
