Trying to save money and make my own veil...I can make something exactly like what I want for about a third of buying one...

My mom was in Value Village the other day and they have veils! I thought maybe occasionally they would have a dress maybe two, but they have tons! I already got my dress, but most of the dresses there we only minorly damaged, and if you had it cleaned you wouldn't know it was from a thrift shop.

But back to the veils...I found a few I liked and they were like $10-$15...but here's the deal, if you're crafty and you like one veil, but like the other hair piece at $10 each you can buy two and piece them together! and still save $100+...

Maybe I'm the last to discover this, but just in cases...

that is a great idea :) i did kind of the same thing. i bought my comb i liked, it was 3$ :) i also got a veil free with my dress and while it matches beautifully, it was a cathedrial length and too long, so i had it cut down to the right size, had the comb added and it was completely custom. i got it for about 40$ compared to the 200$ i saw in the store.

That's a good idea! I already have my dress and the tulle for my veil, but there are so many other things I still need. For some reason thrift stores completely slipped my mind even though there are two near me and another one in my hometown.

I got my dress for my TTD session at a thrift shop for $25! I also got a set of 12 champagne flutes still in the box for $6! Thrift shops are awesome to shop at for great deals!

I keep meaning to go to our value village to look for vases - I wouldn't have thought to go there for veils, etc.

I got my veil on ebay and saved a fortune too - paid $20 instead of $120 at the shop.

Good find!
