I am sure we have done this before, but it has to have been a while since I couldn't find the old thread, but anyway ...

So do you have pet names for your significant other; do you call them something other than their name? If so, what and who started it?

Poll coming ;)

Makes you wonder doesn't it? ..... who was the first person who called their SO pumpkin, and why the heck did other's copy? It's not even like a pumpkin is cute - it's a bumpy, squat, orange vegetable!

We lead our lives as "Nicknames" being Mitch and Shmoo.

The only time i call DH "Stephen" is when He is really driving Me nuts. (And He has to duck lol)

I call Him "Shmoo-Moo" when i'm trying to wake Him up. If i just call Shmoo He tends to jump up like a Harrier Jump-Jet and thinks the house is on fire LOL.

I also call Him "Babes".

DH calls Me "Baby"

Or Mitch the B1tch

We have some very weird nicknames for each other. My sisters laugh at us. We call each other, "pumpkin", "pumpkin pie", "poopie", "poopie pie" (I told you they were weird), "Jasie-Poo" (his name is Jason), "Katie-Pie", and there's more, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Hey, I said they were weird. lol

He used to call me Dear when we were friends....it then somehow evolved into Babe before we were officially together. He rarely calls me by my name now, it's either Babe or Baby. I used to call him Hun when we were best friends, now I call him Baby.

It really depends on where we are. At home where no one else can hear I call him Pookie (when I want to annoy him) on the phone it is baby and in public I call him by name.

Also at home: Studly, sugar nums, pretty much anything that will get a reaction.

He calls me baby and kitten.

I call him all sorts of names... sexy, sexy beast, honey buns... very occassionally just honey. And sometimes I call him smelly cat, haha. Yup, I'm a weird one! And now that we're married I sometimes call him hubby, :). He mostly just calls me honey.

I was calling him "Sweet Future Husband of Mine" until he became my husband. Now he's "Sweet Husband of Mine" :D or his name.

He calls me either by my name or "Crash, my favorite Bandikoot" because I'm a pretty clumsy person, and this is usually after I do something klutzy. Or now, "Former Fiance" or "Ex-girlfriend" though I've told him that he's confused and that's not how it works

I call DH "Punky", which has become the shortened version of what I originally called him, Pumpkin.

However, for the record, Punky is waaaaay more appropriate.

He calls me Honey Bear and Little Green Pea. I'm not sure where either came from!?! :bbmrgreen:
